In order to appreciate my comments about these shoes it might help to know that I have some atypical problems with my feet. When I played football one of the 300+ pounders stepped right on the instep of my left foot, wearing cleats. It broke the metatarsal bones. I hate wearing orthothics (I have them) so I have to buy shoes that I can walk in without bruising the bones that protrude downward a bit. So I simply won't buy shoes that I can't wear without using orthotics! Another problem is that my feet get hot or cold very easily so the shoes must be breathable but warm in the northern Illinois cold months or else my feet will sweat indoors and then freeze when I go outside. I just bought and wore these shoes all day long for the very first time today. It was about 30 degrees and very windy outside. I have walked about 3 miles (indoor and outdoors combined) today. With these thins in mind, my ratings speak for themselves. Additionally I'd like to say that the shoes really are sharp looking and apparently well-made, but I can't say anything about durability or how comfortable the shoes would be in the hot summer. I have worn Havana-Joe's Metros for ten years - they are really comfortable and well-made, but not so much in the looks department. Ecco is also very comfortable, well-made, and looks better than the HJ's. I have auditioned other Allen-Edmonds but I can't wear the leather soles at all. These Wilberts are probably the most comfortable shoes I have ever walked in - yep, including Mephistos.

Best investment for my feet ever! Okay, I know these are really pricey and I never buy expensive shoes but I saw these and really liked them. I am now wearing these around the house and they are so comfy and I did not need to break them in. I cannot wait to show these off at work tomorrow morning. If you want a good pair of work shoes, get these. You will not be disappointed! I love ordering through Zappos. This is probably my 10th order and I have never been disappointed. Zappos rocks!

Allen-Edmonds's Wilbert - Great Shoe - Another great shoe from AE. Casual enough to wear with jeans and nice enough for business casual. Consistent sizing with other AE shoes.

Allen-Edmonds Pricey but worth it! This was my first pair of Allen Edmond shoes. I was hesitant at first because of the price but I did like the style and was replacing a pair of H.S.Trask shoes that cost almost as much. These are one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. They are sized about one half size small, true to width and VERY soft and comfortable. I am on my feet most of the day and wanted something that would feel great while walking and be casual looking but could be dressed up a little if needed for the occasional client meeting, etc. The quality is very apparent as soon as you remove them from the box. Fully leather lined with a soft, padded leather insole, these shoes feel great. A real rubber sole provides excellent traction and appears that it wears well. I am considering other Allen Edmond purchases as a result of this shoe. Zappos provided excellent service and great value and buying was EASIER than going to the store myself! I will continue to be a Zappos customer and refer people to your site all the time.

I finally bit the bullet and spent the money for my first air of Allen-Edmonds! What a great shoe! I'll never buy anything else now. Very comfortable, lightweight, extremely well made, and made in the U.S.A. It just doesn't get any better!

I work on my feet all day and need good arch support along with a specific size. Allen-Edmonds is one of the few companies that have my size (14B) and make great, long lasting shoes. I couldn't be happier with my purchase - my 4th pair of A-E shoes!

This is the second pair of Wilberts I have owned. Nuff said. Very comfortable, casually stylish, close to being a very great walking shoe. Buying from Zappos only made it better. Complete piece of mind in purchasing, fast delivery.

Bought these for my husband a month ago--he loves them! They look great, feel great, fit beautifully, just a very nice-looking, comfortable, sturdy shoe. He wears them with khaki or black chinos; very versatile color. Thanks, as always, Zappos, for your SUPERIOR service!

A high quality shoe. Runs a half size small but once you get the right size, it is a perfect fit. The brown color is great as it goes with a wide range of browns...just make sure your belt matches, as my husband would say!

I can wear this shoe all day with no problem. This shoe has typical Allen-Edmonds quality craftsmanship and is reasonably priced for a fine shoe.

If you have ever owned a pair of Allen-Edmonds, you already know what consistent quality and comfort are all about. This is truly a handcrafted shoe that cannot be surpassed at any price. The highest compliment I can give any shoe is that I can put it on early in the morning and take it off late at night and have gone all day long without ever thinking about my feet. I am a large man with Diabetes and to be able to say that is the ultimate test of a shoe. I own about six pairs of A-E shoes and just ordered another pair today.

Excellent! This shoe is dressy enough for my work, teaching, and is exceptionally comfortable. I take a narrow width so finding comfortable shoes was difficult.

Very Handsome shoe - Like the previous reviewer, I felt that the heel was a little wide and that overall the shoe was just a bit narrower than I am used to for my size. However, the shoe is very good looking, and it radiates quality and good taste. It is dressy enough for sport coat and slacks, and still looks great with jeans. A great fall look and if you don’t have a basic casual brown oxford, this is your shoe.

AE Wilberts - Shoe is pretty good although I found it to be a little narrow at the front and too wide in the heel. I'm hoping that it will eventually stretch somewhat. These are my first AE's and I hope to purchase additional shoes in the future if these work out well.

Worth every penny - For my first pair of expensive shoes I believe the cost was well worth it. Obviously made with attention to detail and quality throughout.

Fine quality, fit and look - I'm quite happy with this shoe. Not too dressy, as is the case with other Allen-Edmunds, but perfectly suitable for my office and for slightly dressier weekend events.

The Best Shoes- I am a repeat Allen-Edmonds customer, especially for their casual shoes. They are comfortable, fit my long narrow feet well, look good and, if past experience is repeated, are exceptionally long-wearing.

A great looking shoe. It is comfortable to walk in, though not for any great distance. I consider it to be expensive, and therefore does not deliver value for me.

Review of Allen-Edmond's Wilbert oxford - This is an exceptionally comfortable, well-made shoe. I wear it when travelling and for business casual dress. The only change I would make in the shoe is that, for me, the heel would fit better if it were narrower. Otherwise, it's just fine. I will keep a pair of these on hand.

Shoe fits true to size and breaks in fast. As with Allen-Edmonds shoes the quality is the finest there is. As far as Zappo's goes they delivered as promised, I do not think I would use anyone else.

Sweet and stylish - Not only attractive, but also very comfortable. The heel helps absorb shock at heel contact. Good for me because I do a lot of standing and walking at work.

Great shoes - Very comfortable. The sole is like walking on a pillow.
