Great Shoes - I have two long trade shows that I have to work where I'm constantly on my feet and in different situations. These shoes handled concrete floors, loading docks with ease. My feet felt fine, did not hurt or feel swollen.

Good comfort, even wear - This is my second pair of New Balance 844's. I have several other pairs of NB shoes including a pair of brown 811s that are my 'dress' shoes for traveling. These 844s are more comfortable and have become my walking shoes for daily exercise in the neighborhood. They give good support, are comfortable on long walks on hard surfaces and the soles have worn evenly. I have back and knee problems, pronate and usually wear out the outside of each heel first, but not with this shoe. They are worth the price.

Soft, Comfortable, and Light - I find the New Balance MW844 one of if not the best shoe I have ever owned. Zappos has the best service and employees of any company around. I cannot think of a better more customer friendly company. They stand behind the products they sell. New Balance MW844 is a perfect shoe for anyone that wants the very best in comfort. I have suggested this shoe to other people and suggested where to buy them. RON

New Balance NW844 - I tried these out this past weekend and they are as advertised very comfortable. In fact, this is the best walking shoe I have purchased to date. The fit is snug and you are literally walking on air, the support is that good. I must admit to being very skeptical about some Zappos reviews, but I now admit to being wrong. If you are into serious walking as part of your exercise routine, you'd be hard pressed to find a better shoe. Hats off to New Balance and thanks to Zappos for the free FedEx shipping.

Stick with a winner - I bought these for my husband, as a replacement for the exact same model he had. We both wear ONLY NB athletic shoes; they accommodate our custom orthotics. I also noticed my podiatrist walks around in NB shoes.

Good value - This is comfortable sneaker for walking, good support, good traction, I always order this brand half a size larger and I wear 4 eee in size 101/2...

Great walking shoe! The look and fit of this shoe is great! Wore the shoes on vacation - lots of walking. Feet did not bother me at all. The arch support is pronounced and orthotics are unnecessary. I will definitely buy more of these shoes.

So Comfortable - My husband just loves these made-in-the-USA shoes. He even wears his old pair as slippers!

MW844 GOOD SHOE - I've had this shoe for the last 3 or 4 years. I walk every day and wear out one pair a year. And I will buy again next February the MW844 I hope they don't disc. the shoe. Thanks for the good service I was very pleased.

I have a narrow foot - size 12A - but I can wear size 12B in certain styles and brands. One of those brands is New Balance, which I've been wearing for many years. I know as a rule of thumb it's advisable to order 1/2 size larger with New Balance (LL Bean, for one, recommends doing that), so as before I ordered these shoes in 12 1/2 B. But as much as I liked these shoes when I got them, they fit like size 11 1/2 B. On each foot, my big toe was right up against the front of the shoe. I returned them, expressing all of the above in comments to Zappos, and in the meantime ordered them again but in size 13B. I placed my reorder early Saturday night. They arrived Monday afternoon! And size 13B fits perfectly. Can't say enough about the customer service.

Nice Shoe - I walk 20+ miles a week. These shoes are durable and provide good support.

Review NB walking shoe - I value the fact that this shoe is made in America and not off-shore. Very handsome, elegant, sporty design. Excellent craftsmanship. Superb support of foot and ankle. Would easily purchase again.

Great comfort, great fit. I actually purchased a pair of these for my father as a gift. He needs a wide shoe, so I ordered him a pair of 4E's. He had been wearing Nike walking shoes in the past, but he really loves these New Balance and said they're a very comfortable shoe and the width is perfect for him. A year ago, he took up walking daily for exercise and so far the shoes are working great for him.

Great Shoe - This is a great shoe. Make sure you order 1/2 size up than you normally wear.

A Superb Walking Shoe - If you are seeking a shoe suitably adapted for daily errands, excessive walking, or just taking a stroll to your local coffee shop for a cup of Joe, then this is certainly some footwear you ought to consider. Why, precisely? First and most delightfully, is the shoe's delicate weight. This New Balance MW844 is so remarkably light that you only barely know the shoes are on your feet at all. And I'm not exaggerating. When I first put them on, I was very satisfied with this unexpected bonus. And for those of you who desire to jog in these puppies now and then, I'd say you'd find this issue of weight to be very alluring. I've jogged in them numerous times. Excellent experience. Secondly, this shoe is much more "form fitting," than many other New Balance editions. By this I am referring to two features the shoe possesses that allow it to fit the shape of your foot more comfortably than other brands. The first feature the shoe retains that gives it this adaptability, are the eyelets. The eyelets are made of an elastic nylon hybrid, which allows some "give" in the eyelets and in the laces. This "give" permits an elasticity that plastic and brass eyelets do not yield. So when you tie your shoes, there is a spring to the laces and eyelets that gives your foot a comfortable and close fit inside the shoe, but simultaneously permits the foot to expand and bend and move inside the footwear without choking or pinching the top of the foot near the front of the ankle; a common problem in other eyelet types. In addition, these nylon-elastic eyelets will not wear out your shoelaces as fast, either. They are more gentle. The other agreeable feature? The shoe is not entirely leather. The areas surrounding the laces and to the sides of the laces are of nylon pedigree, which allows--again--a flexibility to the foot and the shoe without the often constraining thickness of leather inferring. If you'll go to the shoe as featured on the Zappos website, you'll see there is a feature on the screen allowing you to get a close-up look at the shoes you are reviewing. Have a closer look at this NB MW844, and you'll see what I mean. Lastly, there is comfort and appearance. The shoe is extremely comfortable, and I've seldom wore a more pleasant pair of walking shoes. And their looks are superb. It's a very handsome shoe, and the buyer will discover it complements a pair of good blue jeans nicely. The reason, however, for my giving the shoes a "4" rating where looks are concerned is because I've always retained a reservation about New Balance shoes not "sloping" at the toes to conform to the slope of the foot. This gives the shoes a box-toe appearance that is fine at the beginning; however after excessive wear the excess leather above the smaller toes becomes bunched up courtesy of the shoe's developing creases, and this bunched-up excess of leather looks improper and even unsightly after a time. I think NB should consider trimming the toes of their shoes to fit more to the slope of the toes in order to avoid this. Otherwise, this shoe is splendid. I hope this review aids your decisions. Happy Husband - My husband has a positive relationship going with New Balance shoes and so when he picked these out for Christmas, I thought he would be pleased. Sure enough! The minute he put them on he commented on their comfort and even though he was a bit nervous about the look of a black walking shoe of this kind, he likes how they look too. He is very happy, and when Teddy's happy, I'm happy! Thanks New Balance and Zappos for once again making it so easy.

Great Shoe - I bought these for my husband, and he is very happy with them. He likes them so much he had me order a second pair, so he could alternate between pairs of shoes.

New Balance MW 844 - Replacement shoe for my old MW841's. The MW844 appears to be an excellent shoe and one which will wear well. I don't think it is as comfortable as my MW841's. This may change once I have worn them for a longer period. Well worth the cost to get a quality shoe.

Better than the 843's not as good as the older 840's.

Very comfortable and an excellent fit. Placed the order at about 2100 hours and they were on my front door step before noon the next day.

The 844 is just as comfortable as the 843s I had worn. The shape of the toe box, however is different. The 11-1/2-D width in the 843 suited me fine. In the 844 a 12 may have worked, but I opted for the 12-1/2 -B width. The 844 is every bit as comfortable as the 843, but the "feel", particularly in the toe box is different. Overall, a great shoe. I'll definitely buy it again.

Review of New Balance's MW844 - Best walking shoes I've owned. Great comfort and light on the feet.

GREAT shoe!!! I have diabetic neuropathy and have partial amputations on both of my feet. I need a comfortable shoe. I've tried cheaper priced shoes and thought they were fine until I tried 844s. The extra money is very well spent. My feet are more stable and very comfortable. They accept my orthotics nicely. I HIGHLY recommend this shoe!!!
