These shoes definitely stretch, make sure when you get them they're tight. I went back and forth with the size but after reading some reviews decided to keep the ones that felt tight to start with and they're perfect now. These have zero arch support and that's coming from someone who'd rather be barefoot than wear shoes. They have no cushion at all so you're walking just a very thin rubber sole. In the end, I find that these shoes just aren't a good value. I haven't even had them a year and they're showing serious wear. The sole is starting to wear through and the leather is already wearing out in spots. For the price I was expecting these to be much better build to withstand the test of time.

Loved my original French Sole but these are too narrow and not comfortable even though I ordered a size up.

I wear a size 10 and had to purchase a full size up. The seam around the top of the shoe was still quite tight in several places, so I broke them in with a few layers of moleskin on the tight spots. It only took a few wears, and I think they’re going to be quite comfortable!

I love this flat - great for work or short walks but is not built for long distance. You have to order a full size up. I am 7.5 and order 8.5 no need breaking in and I own several colors.

This is a beautiful shoe. Soft, supple leather. One size too small and narrow. Definitely keepers if they had fit right. :-(

These shoes were so adorable, but the top cut into to the tops of my feet so badly! I had to return them.

Almost fit, but seems to feel more like a half size smaller in length. If there was a half size up available I'm sure these would be perfect. I'm sure to a degree they "stretch out" but since a lot of the tightness as at the edge that meets the foot I don't want to find out this rubs and causes some sort of blistering. Unique style, very little support . You can really feel the ground under you!

I have various shoes in size 9, most in 9.5, and some in size 10. I tried the 9.5 sloop flat first and could not believe they would stretch out to be comfortable, they were so painfully tight. I do understand the concept described by other reviewers and wanted to be careful not to buy shoes that would stretch out too much. I wound up ordering a size 10 to compare- I am grateful for Zappos shipping & returns! The 10 is only slightly tight and I think will stretch to comfy perfection. I will update the review as they break in, but for now I am liking my French Sole Sloop flat in the black Nappa leather. I was looking for a well-made, leather minimalist shoe for work and it was surprisingly difficult to find! I do wish they didn't come quite so far up on the foot, but overall I am happy with these.

I am a true size 9.5 and I could barely get my foot in this shoe. It was like Cinderella's step sisters. I can't even gauge comfort because I couldn't really try them on. I like the look of these shoes and know folks who swear by them, but they are not for me.

These are beautiful shoes and just what I wanted, however the sizing did not work for me and Zappos doesn't have the size I need. I am a reliable size 10 with long toes and a somewhat narrow, low volume foot. I ordered my true size based on the reviews which indicate that this should should be stretched to fit. Thanks to the soft, minimalist construction of this shoe, I am able to get my foot into it, but it seems extraordinarily unlikely that I would ever be able to stretch it enough for comfort. I ended up buying a barely worn size 11 on ebay to see how the break in goes, before committing to a smaller size at full retail. Nonetheless, these are fabulous shoes for anyone wanting a minimal flat, and I recommend taking the effort to find your correct size. The Pewter Nappa is beautiful and shiny, but not quite as glossy as the stock photos suggest.

Terrible shoe! I’m a 9 and size 10 was still too small and hurt everywhere.

I love minimalist shoes and I wanted something a bit fancy. This is it! I adore the utter flatness of the sole and the wrinkly look of the leather allows for much greater flexibility than other patent leather shoes. I also have the grey foil, which covers the toes better than the patent leather.

The leather of this shoe is beautiful, but the back of the shoe was too high for my foot. I could tell it was rubbing. It would have been a wonderful, comfortable shoe if it had fit me.

Beautiful soft leather but they were a whole size too small.

These are truly comfortable with no break in time.I own many pairs of these and other brands.After 1 season the soles wear very fast.The leather stretches alot to form to your foot.But after 1 season of wear .alternating with many shoes and the sole wearing out on these this quick.Im learing of buying more than the many prs i already have.If you need these to be your everyday flats.The wear isnt lasting.I dont drag my feet when i walk.and weight 136.

I really like the look of these flats as they cover more of toe area than others. Unfortunately, they aren't very comfortable even after wearing almost a dozen times. They are well made and have held up nicely however - just not for me and I won't reorder when they wear out.

The silver color that I bought scuffed the first day I wore them and get additional scuff marks just about every time I wear them. I also dont get the hype from others about how comfortable they are - there is no footbed cushioning or support. I spent more on these hoping to find a comfortable durable shoe and and 100% dissapointed

I love these shoes. This is my second pair; I had my first pair for over two years but accidentally spilled bleach on them so I had to get a replacement... had I not goofed I'm sure I could have squeezed another two years of wear out of that first pair! Definitely order at least a half size down on these because they will stretch and mold to your feet and end up fitting like a second skin.

These are so cute and the color is awesome. I have wide feet so I was worried after reading other reviews, but I did not have any problems with fit. I do agree - this is a ballet slipper with no support, but I've worn them all day wth no problems and I am fairly flat footed.
