Customer Reviews French Sole Sloop

I read the reviews and even went a full size larger (I am normally an 8, I ordered a 9) and it did not fit. I mean, I got my foot in but you could see my big toe. Yes, they are leather. Yes, they will stretch out with wear but I didn't even attempt walking around in them. I just put the back in the box to be returned.

Total, absolute sham of a ballet slipper. I can't believe I spent full price for these. Two weeks after I bought them, the suede split along the sides (and of course, since I've worn them, I can't return them), and the shoes look like a mess. They're unwearable. Never, never again, French Sole.

I ordered these in a 7.5 but they where just to snug I returned and ordered an 8 after wearing for a day my toes where numb there is something about the top of the shoes that hits the top of the foot and numbs the foot. I sent them to my daughter since she wears a 7 and she said the same thing.

The only thing these shoes have going for them is that they are cute. Otherwise the only difference between them and a pair of Payless specials is the price. I had the same size issue as many people, they were too small at my normal size (massive big toe bulge that I wasn't willing to risk) so I returned for a half size larger. They have minimal padding, which if they had, it might make up for lack of arch support. (Zappos was awesome, by the way. They shipped me the replacements before I even sent the old ones back). Unfortunately after three weeks of light wear, the inner sole lining is shifting around and coming out. I will need to superglue them down - and that shouldn't be happening with a pair of shoes at this price. I don't expect the shoes to last more than a few months and all I do is wear them to work, which I drive to. Advice - stay away from the shoes.

These were amazing at first, but the leather in the footbed slowly peeled out of both of the shoes - it started after a few weeks of wear and after a few month they'd scrunch up under my feet as I walked. They also stretched out - it's expected because they're leather, but they became really baggy around the arch of my foot instead of stretching out toes like other shoes might. These shoes also have no cushioning in the heel, so walking on sidewalks becomes uncomfortable after a few blocks. I expect better quality for the price. I'm so disappointed.

I loved them when I first got them (even with zero support), but they stretched so much that they no longer stayed on my foot. After a few months, I can no longer wear them. not worth the money.

These are the worst shoes ever! I would give them zero stars if that was an option. I cannot believe how much they are charging! At first I thought they were cute, but I had to throw the pair away after wearing them on and off for only a few weeks! They completely fell apart inside and out, the cheap inner and outer sole plus the leather upper stretched and ruined itself after only a few days. These are terrible quality. Get Born or Frye ballet style shoes instead.

This shoe is a little big, as I believe all French Sole shoes are; it's hard to get a good fit. However, I do love these flats. Too bad that mine arrived with very wrinkled leather and had to be returned.

These are youthful and make me feel like a dancer. They are soft like a slipper.

I love shoes by French sole. This pair is so simple and elegant. It replaces another black ballet flat they wore out. I originally ordered 1/2 size big but had to return and get a full size bigger. I have sensitive feet and wouldn’t walk in these all day. No support.

Be sure and order at least a half size up. Might have needed a full size but am sure they will stretch. Very cute and reasonably comfortable. But no shoe is comfortable on me so I would suspect most people would find them most comfy!

The shoes are gorgeous, but they felt slightly smaller than normal for the size..

I wasn’t sure about these at first because they seemed tight. Now I’ve had them for 2 years. They are my favorite “flats”! They’ve held up well, don’t look a day older since I purchased them but best of all they are so light & comfy I think I’m walking in clouds!

I have these in several colors---there is a break in period. They aren't the most comfortable in the world but they work with so much.

Slipped right on, very cute shoe. No stepping on them allowed, they are blue suede.

I wear a size 11.5M so this size 12m seems perfect for me.

I followed previous reviews that suggest I order my regular size as the shoes will stretch. I’m glad I did! I love the style and now broken in they are comfortable. If you don’t like breaking shoes in - I might not recommend. But I’m happy with my choice!

I normally wear a 7.5 and had to return it for an 8. But I love the shoes. Cute and well made.

These shoes run very small .. I 1st ordered size 9.5 & to play it safe ordered the 10 .. Fully expecting 9.5 to fit was stunned that the 10’s were to small my toe hit the end … Loved these shoes so much there was no 10.5 to order .. I risked ordering the 11 & to my surprise they just fit . Kept them, reviews said they will stretch quickly enough .. I so want these shoes to work out !

These are very lightweight and comfortable. They feel festive. I haven't worn them a great deal so can't comment on the sturdiness of the leather or their ability to hold shape over time.

This is an absolutely gorgeous shoe. However,it is not true to size. Every shoe in my closet, and there are a lot is a 7 and 1/2 M and fits perfectly. This shoe is not even close to being that size, even though it i s so marked. No one could be sorrier. It was just what I was looking for, but I don’t believe the next size upo would have been much better.

This is my first pair of ballet flats. I went by the dancer’s review that said they’d stretch and I hope they do. They fit like any other pair of ballet shoes I’ve ever worn. I hope they stretch soon because I really love them.
