These shoes are very cute and seem to be well-made. They are a little too flat for me. They come up too far on top of the foot past your toes. I like a flat that is a little more open at the toes. I also have the Garnet Hill Italian flats, which I like better.

I was so excited when I placed my order for the French Sole Sloop flats. I love the look and the simplicity of them. With that said, I was very disappointed when not even a month after received them the insole became loose and eventually came out of the shoe. I have had to use inserts to replace the soles ever since. For the price and a company called French Sole, I didn't think that I would be having a problem with the sole of the shoe.

Cute shoe but not great value for money, a bit floppy with a thin sole so more not for walking long distances. I bought half a size up and they fit well.

I bought this shoe last April. I take very good care of my shoes, and this shoe started falling apart after 5 wears. For the amount of money, the quality is lacking. Cute style, but you can find a better shoe for less.

Based on other reviews, I had really high expectations for these shoes. I have been searching high and low for a simple, easy black flat. Unfortunately, these weren't it for me. First, I wear a 10.5 and ordered an 11. They were still a little short (my toes dug), and I found them to be tight across the top of my foot. I do not have wide feet. I also was disappointed in the way that they appeared over the top of my foot and they resembled slippers because the material across the toes was wrinkled and did not lie flat. Perhaps the suede material would not do this (I ordered the black Tejus)?

I have a wide foot, although not wide enough for wide-width shoes, and these fit fine in the width. I can wear an 8.5 or 9, so I ordered a 9, and it fit good. Overall these are comfortable, and the look is ok at best. The problem is that they cover so much of the toe that it looks weird. I can't see paying this much for a basic ballet if it doesn't look great, so I'll be returning them.

This shoe runs 1/2 size small. Now the size I need isn't available. Boo hoo.

A very delicate shoe - I wish it'd lasted longer.

So small - I wear a 6 or a 6 1/2 and couldn't get my foot in the 6 1/2. These run small, but I'm not sure if a 7 would be too big.

Cute, but pricey - These are adorable and I am overall pretty happy. As stated in other reviews, they have no support. My main complaint is that they don't hold up well. I've been wearing them for a couple of weeks (I walk a LOT) and they look trashed already. They've stretched out quite a bit. If they were cheaper, I'd still buy another color. Hoping for a sale...
I'd also recommend:
Converse Dance Slip - cheap, comfy, & hold up better.

This shoe runs very short! I usually wear an 8 1/2 M, sometimes an 8 in wider shoes and on rare occasion a 9 in narrower shoes, but the French Sloop runs very short. The pink is more of a mauve color than pictured. They would be prettier in Nubuck. I had to return anyway because of the short fit.

I've never had a shoe that was so "off" on the sizing. I couldn't even get the front of my foot in it. I usually order size 9, which this was. Seemed more like an 8. Maybe even a 7.5

Awful. So painful. I'm like Cinderalla's stepsisters in these things, and I'm a true-to-size 8 universally with every other brand. I keep thinking I'll might break them in someday but I can't think of why I should do that when I can just return them.

There is no way these shoes are a size 13. I am a true 12.5, so size 13 shoes are always a bit big. These were pinching my toes! Back they go.

I read many, many reviews and thought, ok, it would be a mistake to order 1/2 or a full size up as many people did, only to find the shoe was too big once broken in, so I ordered my normal size 6. I could not even get my foot fully into the shoe! The toe box isn't narrow but extremely shallow. The top of the shoe cut into the top of my foot horribly. It's too bad, it's a very attractive shoe.

Extremely under sized, not feeling confident to order the next size up as that may not even be enough. Interesting that some reviews quote these are true to size, unless there is no consistency in their manufacturing? Sad thing is they're super cute

I liked the shoes but within a week of wearing them the insoles started bunching up under my toes then started shifting in the heels. The cheap adhesive doesn't seem to want to stick to the cheap foam cushioning. They were cute but a waste of money.

When I first was looking for good flats, these came up with all reviews being 5/5 stars. Now I see more of a spread. Wonder what happened there. Anyways, these shoes are just not comfortable. The worst thing was that they rubbed the back of my ankle to the point where I blistered and bled (both sizes I tried). The other thing is they are barely better than going barefoot. There is nothing between you and the ground but a thin piece of leather. I get more support and cushion from my Old Navy flip flops. They had good construction quality and looked very nice, but they were not for me.

The shoes are honestly cuter in the picture than they are in on. They make great house slippers, but not so great if you are on your feet a lot. I've had them for a month, and ready to find a new pair of black flats.

I had high expectations for these shoes, especially considering their price; but after a year of sporadic wear, they are literally falling apart. Granted, I do walk in the city a good amount, but nothing more than about a half-mile to a mile a day. The leather lining that serves as the insole for these shoes has literally peeled off, and I've had to put inserts in them to make them at all wearable. The stitching is also coming apart inside of them. These shoes seem to be made for decorative purposes only (read: very little walking), and not at all for full workdays that involve commuting.

I ordered the Bronze Metallic Suede a year ago. What seemed to fit me at the time has stretched so much that they are floppy, and I can't wear them. Very sad because I like the color and style.

I got a half size up (as the other reviewers suggested) but after wearing them once, I'm sorry I did. Feels true to size. The front edge cuts into my foot a bit. Honestly, I'm sorry I didn't go for a cheaper shoe. They're fine, but just that. Fine.

I double checked my order, and have had 2 pairs of these for less than a year. I read all the reviews and ordered a half size larger 7.5, and normally wear a 7. When I first got these in November 2010, they were tight and felt like a 7...now they have stretched out so much (at least 1 size larger if not more), are way too big, that I can no longer wear them since they flop off my feet. I am very disappointed since I've been lucky to wear them maybe 7-8 months tops...since I did not wear them in the dead of winter here in the NorthEast. Needless to say, I have 2 pairs to toss away, and now need to find replacements.

Nice colors but they are homely on the foot. Slippers look better. So these are going back. Turquoise is the proper color rather than the other I got. But, they are just not nice looking.

These cutesy little shoes run small so be sure to go up a half size. I wanted these to be my favorite flats but while they're very comfortable after only a few weeks they're losing their shape and look dingy. Shop on friends!
