After 1 season of heavy hiking the sole has separated from the uppers and the tread is falling off the shoe. Very comfortable, just not durable.

Shoes are great and definitely keep the water out. Not a summer shoe as they are a bit heavy.

ought them before a trip to Mojave Preserve. They were great on the trip and while doing moderate hiking over rock. I'm not sure I'd buy the next half size up again as advised since my heal seams to kind of pull out of the shoe unless it's tied fairly tight. The shoes are light and very comfortable and have a very solid feel over uneven surfaces.

I have suffered from Plantar Fasciitis for several years, and since wearing Keens for the past year and doing stretches each morning, have not had any reoccurence. The shoes almost feel like boards on your feet, but the support and cushioning allows you to wear them all day without any discomfort. And they look good enough to wear on a regular basis. They have replaced my sneakers as my everyday shoe.

Before I tell you about the shoes, let me tell you about Zappos Customer Services. Simply put, they are the best. We tried 3 times before finding the right shoe for me. With free shipping in both directions, it was just like being in a shoe store. That said, I couldn’t be happier with my Keen Targhee IIs. I’d say the best feature is the wide toe box. I’ve got Hobbit feet minus the hair and the Keens fit like a glove. I put them on right out of the box and did a 5 mile walk without a hitch. They are great for casual wear as well as day hiking. I also own several pair of Keen sandals. You cannot go wrong with Keens.

These shoes were excellent for hiking in New Zealand and Ayers Rock in Australia! I wore them without breaking them in and had no issues. I ordered a size up.

VERY comfortable shoes! Great for stomping around off the beaten path - the waterproof feature kept my feet nice and warm!

First of all I just want to say that anyone who thinks their shoes should feel perfect after the first day should not be writing a review on shoes. These Targhee IIs by Keen are amazing, the waterproof liner is unmatched, I have owned Northface hikers with goretex and my feet got wet a number of times. These shoes are some of the most comfortable that I have ever worn, no heel pain. I have been starting to have heel pain for the last few years and these shoes fixed it. Yes they will take a while to break in, but once they do, they are amazing shoes. I will buy again for sure. Just wish they had a steel toe for my job.

Love these shoes - got them prior to a trip to Italy, and they served me quite well as I walked 4-6 miles per day on cobblestoned streets. They are very comfortable, with a wide toe box not found in many shoes. They might run 1/2 size small, no more. My first Zappos experience was great!

I've owned two pairs of Keen Targhees. They are comfortable right out of the box and make for enjoyable hiking. However both pairs have suffered from quick deterioration of the fabric and soles separating from the body of the shoe. Basically these both became 1-season shoes. One pair was sent back to Zappos (who offered excellent return service even after extensive wearing) after nearly a year when both soles separated from the uppers, and the current pair has now been worn 2 seasons. I will wear them out within the next summer season and will need to replace them. I would love to buy Keen replacements again (I have other Keen oxfords that are still great shoes after 5 years), but these don't seem to hold up. Nice looking and comfortable, but maybe too much emphasis on looks rather than reliability.

Love these shoes...Had to buy a second pair to put in the closet. First pair bought a year ago. Still have plenty of life in them after 6-8 mile nikes every weekend since plus evenings walking the dog. Great support arond heel and toe box has plenty of room. They run a half size big.

I'm returning these because the fit is extremely loose. The laces don't come very far up my feet and I cannot tie them tight enough to make them comfortable.

Much better shoes out there. Everyone is right that you must order 1/2 size larger, BUT I've never felt more relief taking these things off after only a day. I owned at least 15 pair of low-top hikers as well as 6 or more full leather backpacking uppers and these Targhee II\'s leave a lot to be desired. 1) Should create a tongue wide enough for the gap (and my feet are on the narrow side). 2) How about another set of eyelets (or two). 3) The inserts need to be much better. 4) Skip this "Keen.Dry" and just find a real Gore-tex shoe. I was very sweaty in these shoes (unlike my Gore-tex Cabelas).I picked these because the construction looked good and seems to be solid... but again there are much better shoes out there for a low-top hiker.

I have recently purchased a pair of the Keen Targhee II shoes and so far are very impressed.They really did not take any time to break in. I use these shoes for everyday use and would buy them again.The only problem I have is it feels like I cannot get the shoe to lace up super tight, other than that they are a great shoe. Thank you Zappos once again for the excellent service and extremely fast shipping!! Zappos knows how to run a business.

Tight fit. I ordered a half size larger so they are perfect. Perfect walking shoe for on/off road. I'm a big guy and I beat my shoes up. These are holding up (and holding me up) well despite 6-mile a day walks. I've had awesome Keen sandals for years so I bought this brand based on the performance from the sandals.

Shoes were purchased as a gift for my Keen wearing husband! For those of you who wear the Keen sandal and are leery of the shoe... get a pair! He loves them. What does he love? The arch support. He is on his feet most of the day and walking at that. He has had heel problems in the past and Keens seem to be the only shoe that has remedied the discomfort.

Shoes are great... I have worn them for two full days so far... no discomfort. I normally take a wide shoe and these seem to fit just fine ordered a half size larger than normal. Insole that comes with shoe is meager at best so replaced with a spenco polysorb cross trainer and now it feels great...

I love these shoes. They are very light, they keep my feet dry, warm, and they have a firm grip.

These were for my husband. He usually wears an 11.5, but I had bought the 12 based on other reviews and also how Keens fit me. He loved them and they fit great. Nice arch support and good colors to go with a pair of jeans or cords.

I bought the Keen Targhee II for my son who started grad school in Chicago in January. He walks or takes the train everywhere and other than a couple of days when they had 10 inches of snow, he didn’t need his Gortex hiking boots but did need something that was comfortable, warm, and waterproof. With medium weight wool socks, he goes everywhere with them. He has a slightly wider foot and he found them perfect right out of the box. I did take the advice of previous purchasers and ordered them 1/2 size larger. Now if they would make the heel a little narrower, I might get myself a pair... great shoe!

I am a volunteer cub scout leader and foot wear is kinda important to me...be it trompin thru dewy early morning fields or setting up camp in the pouring rain or stomping around my favorite fishing hole...no one wants wet foot all day...these are the real deal...completely water proof...and comfortable...and man are they tough...my only regret...not getting them sooner...well done keen...

This is my third pair of Keens. First pair was the original Targhee, second was Voyageur. This pair, Targhee II felt significantly larger than the previous pairs that I had to change to a 10 from 10.5. This was a little disappointing.

Awesome shoes. These are extremely comfortable and require little to no break in time. My first impression is they are made with quality. I will see after I take them to the trails.

I'm guessing all of the folks who review these so highly have good arches. I don't, and they are almost more than my flat feet can take. I purchased this shoe in the color "peacoat". When it arrived and I saw that the shoe was blue, I was taken aback for a moment, but that makes sense with the name in retrospect. I was just confused because the picture did not lead me to believe it was a blueish colored shoe. They look great though, especially with blue jeans. I kept them. Happy surprise. Not super impressed with the shoes, but they are okay.
