I lusted after these shoes for so long and I must admit they were a great disappointment. I wear an 11, ordered the 11 and found them to fit more like a size 10. Plus, they just aren't comfortable---there's no give in the cork and no real padding in the shoe. I also found them to be a little unstable to walk in. The base of the shoe is narrower than the footbed. I'm usually comfortable wearing platforms, so long as the angle from heel to toe isn't too perilously steep. I felt surprisingly wobbly in these. I still love the look of the shoe, but I don't find myself wearing them much. Could it be so hard to make a comfortable and attractive mid-height platform?

Loved these shoes but the elastic that connects the buckle wore out after only a few weeks. Zappos let me exchange them, which was nice, but Kork-Ease should know that they are making a defective product. A number of other reviews on this site and others mention the same problem.

I'm an 8 1/2 in Clarks, an 8 in Born, and a 9 in some other brands. In Kork-Ease, the 8 was too short and the 9 was too long. I also found the toe area was very pointy, and my toes aren't that shape, so it looked off. I found the leather to be very stiff. I'm not sure what the other reviewers received who claimed the leather is soft, but mine was like cardboard. I bought a Born cork platform and a Clarks cork platform with really soft leather, and fit my foot, both for the price of a single pair of Kork-Ease. These are going back.

Bought these and used them exclusively for work - very light wear. Straps stretch way too much and way too soon. They tend to 'slap' while walking so very loud. Even though only worn in office setting, sole is lifting from bottom of shoe. Kork-Ease has totally ignored my request for help. Huge waste of money!

Comfy sandals. Purchased about a month ago and they are very lightweight and although heel is high they are easy to walk in. Recommend!

These are very cute sandals that are comfortable enough to wear from the long trek of my parking lot to my job. They are a retro style, but not too clunky, and give height, without being precarious. As for fit, they really should have them in half sizes. I can wear from a 6 to a 7 depending on the shoe. Usually it's a 6 1/2 as my foot is a little on the wide side, that is, I have slight bunions that are more comfortable with a wider toe box to accommodate them. The 6's were the right length, but were too narrow and tight. The 7's are a little longer than they should be, and there is a little sliding that requires keeping the strap tight to prevent it, but the width was right. As for color, the "rust" color was disappointingly not the deep rich orange that it appears to be in the picture, but is instead a medium tannish-brown. But all in all, they are a attractive and look good with my flowing floral skirts and dresses and rolled up pants.

These shoes are amazing! I had a back fusion surgery and have to be super careful about what shoes I can wear so I wanted a heel that has a high platform so I can be dressy without hurting my back. These are perfect! I loved these back in the '70s and am so glad to find them again. The gray color is gorgeous and they are super comfortable. I'm an 8 1/2 so I ordered the 9 and it fits great...a little long but that's okay since it's a 9, I expected that. Highly recommend this brand (I have a lower-heel version in black as well which I love).

I love these shoes! Bought them for a European trip coming up this June. Straight out of the box they fit like they were made for me. Perfect in every way. I got the 8 which is my usual size and I have a wider front part of my foot, but there was no pinching or sliding forward. I'll probably wear them around the house a little bit every week until the trip just to get used to them. The slight angle to the sole in front takes a little getting used to. I would buy a second pair knowing I'm going to be wearing out this pair eventually.

I love these shoes. I've had a few similar but wore them down to the ground, but these, I know, are much better quality! Hope they hold up better than my previous cheaper ones! Thanks.

Amazing! just like the photo! Very comfortable. I wear 38 euro and 7.5us and the 7 fits perfectly. So many compliments already!

These were great, ran true to size, stylish, and comfortable. However, the "jacket buff suede" color is gray. In the photos it looks close to black but in real life it is a cool dark gray.

I love these shoes. They take me back to my high school days in the '70s. They are true to size and super comfortable. Nothing rubs and they are easy to walk in. I find myself trying to pick out blue outfits so I can wear them. They are a bit expensive but I needed something blue in a pinch. I think they will last a long time and make the cost less painful.

By far my favorite shoe! Normally wear a 7.5 but 7 in Kork-Ease works with a little breaking in period. I purchased this shoe in 2012 and have had to get them repaired twice - this is because I wear them almost daily! Finally broke down and got two more pairs in different colors. Can't wait until they arrive! Zappos shipping is awesome and their return policy rocks (but I'm pretty certain I won't be returning my new Ava's).

These are beautiful! A previous reviewer commented on the leather on Kork-Ease not always feeling or looking the same. I agree. These are softer and the color is so neutrally beautiful. Comfy like all Kork-Ease.

My third pair of Ava's in four years (first in natural, then black and now this lovely color). What else can I say! Love, love, and love.

I love the way these shoes do a great job of stepping up my regular wardrobe of jeans and whatever. They are really comfortable and the extra height is pretty flattering. I have wide-ish feet and these work fine for me in my regular size.

Zappos is awesome! Lightning fast shipping great customer service! Now as for the shoe, love them! Very comfy easier to walk in than I thought and as for size get a size down. I wear a 5.5 sometimes 6 in a shoe and I ordered a 6 in this shoe but these were just a tad big. Not a big noticeable difference at all beings that I can also fit in a size six . But overall I give this shoe an A+. I put them on as soon as I received them and walked around Wal-mart and other places and I had no foot pain or any problems at all. Very comfy, love them!

I received these shoes and really like them. They are very cute, especially with jeans. I would recommend them. I will even like them better once they are broken in. Leather takes a bit to loosen; you don't find many shoes in leater anymore. Very wise choice; and I will wear them lots.

So comfortable and cute. These shoes look and feel great! They are just the right height for jeans or dresses/skirts. I wish they would bring back the grey; I'd buy those, too! The only word of warning: they are a tad heavy and take a little getting used to when walking the completely tore up streets and uneven sidewalks of my city.

Really cute and look great with dresses, skirts, even shorts if you like that style. The cork keeps them pretty casual looking. I was impressed that they were comfortable for walking, right out of the box. I love the look of these shoes, would definitely consider getting another color or a pair with a smaller wedge (these are tall!)

Love this shoe! The height is just perfect and it was very comfortable to wear. The only minus is that sometimes the ankle straps are a bit loose and even if you have them all the way cinched in, they may still be loose.

These are keepers. I recently returned the Bettes because I found them too high but the Avas are perfect. I already own them in black (size 9--my standard size), which I purchased several years ago. This time, I ordered the brown/cork and went down a size because the black ones are a full size too big. The 8's fit perfectly. A couple of disappointments: the buckle has elastic instead of just metal (as in my black ones) which seems to rub the wrong way on my left foot (moleskin to the rescue); and the strap in the back is already too loose (many reviewers have noted this). Otherwise, I'm going to rock these babies with my flare jeans, shorts and skirts. And 5 stars to Zappos!

Love the Kork-Ease Ava! Have been wearing Kork-ease since the '70s. This is my favorite sandal every time the warmer weather rolls around. Comfort right out of the box and the added height I desire, without the too-high-pitch that tends to hurt my back. Thank you Zappos for carrying these in so many colors!

love love thease shoes! if you think you cant walk in heels think again! i thought wedges made my feet look clunky, but somehow thease make my feet look daintyer. same with the open design, i have high arches and open shoes look like torture devices on my big feet, but thease look and feel great. only complaint is that there are no half sizes! I ordered the ten and they are a bit long in front, i usually wear a 9/9.5 in flats or 9.5/ 10 in heels(typically 10). i needed them for a wedding and couldn't wait to try the 9 so I kept the 10 ( i live in HI so overnight shipping is more like 5-8 days, often comes faster but no way to tell)so you may want to order both, or size down and stretch out the shoes if the long thing really bothers you. looks fine except with long skirts with out a full skirt because you can really see the outline of the entire shoe but no toe outlines, looks like i have no feet! comfort and cute style is worth it tho, ill just have to buy a 9 in another color and see!
