I am so sad I have to return these boots. The inside is soft and comfortable, the width of the she is great BUT the issue is that they are too tight around the ankle! I bought a double wide and the foot fight well but a person with a double width foot does not have a skinny ankle. So disappointing.

Great boots. I have narrow feet and ankles and these are very flattering, close fitting around the ankle. Excellent arch support and ankle support. I actually bought the lace-up style instead, but both are beautiful.

These fit like the La Canadienne Passion boot, which I have and wear all the time. They also look like the toe box of the Passion boot; if those fit, you will love these. I am an 8 1/2 wide and they fit perfectly with room for heavy socks. Arch support is less than moderate, but I wouldn't say there is none. Only item that could be improved, however, love them and keeping them!

This is my second pair of La Canadiennes and this one was perfect right out of the box. I have problem feet in every sense -- very wide feet, bunions on both feet, one foot smaller than the other -- but this one fit perfectly and required no break-in period. I always buy half a size bigger with La Canadiennes. I am a 7 W, but with La Canadiennes 7.5 M is my size. I work on a college campus and these are perfect for walking around in all kinds of weather. The Perla is not the most stylish but they're conservative-looking boots that go well with dresses and skirts to work. Expensive but worth every dime. I buy all my shoes from Zappos, and their customer service continues to be the industry gold standard.

These are hands-down my favorite shoes from October through March. I wear them probably 4 days out of 5. They go with most everything and are totally comfortable. I usually don't spend quite so much on a pair of shoes, but these are totally worth it.

Bought these boots in patent leather to replace a pair of Santana boots that lasted forever. Was looking for something stylish to wear with pants but also waterproof. These boots are gorgeous, and even better, they were on sale. The heel is perfect, and is wide to give stability and looks like it can be re-heeled if necessary. The patent leather really makes this boot. I agree with reviews that the top is a bit snug above the ankle, so that is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. There is elastic on the side, at the top of the boot, so hopefully it will stretch. If you want a pair of boots that are functional, and look good, particularly for a work environment, these are for you. You can even wear these to work and not have to change into shoes; they are that pretty. Good arch support and a comfortable insole. Very well made from what I can tell, and on par with the former Santana brand (of which I own 3 pairs, bought over 20 years ago, and 2 of the pairs are still looking great and going strong). Don't hesitate to purchase these boots.

I adore the style and craftsmanship of these boots and believe they will wear in well! Unfortunately, I recently had a foot injury that prevents me from breaking in a shoe. I'm sending them back in hopes of healing and getting them in the future... especially love that they are waterproof!

This is one of the most comfortable shoes I have. This is quality, style meets comfort. Would buy this brand again!

Crazy, but this is my second pair of Perlas. After years of wear, new soles and heels, etc, I finally accepted that I needed to replace them because they are the perfect boots.

In my attempt to find some descent looking, comfortable, quality and sturdy waterproof boots, I hesitantly settled (due to the price) on these boots. They are so comfortable that I was able to put them on and go for my daily two mile walk with no problems. This is a brand that I would not hesitate to buy again.

I AM AMAZED! I needed a stylish pair of boots to wear in Cortona Italy knowing I may need them in rain. I’m 67 and particular about good support and comfort. I’m in great shape and can trot up steep hills and I need my footwear to carry me, not hurt me. These lovely black boots never once rubbed or hurt. I went everywhere in them - airports, hills, pavement, elegant evenings out. They looked terrific with my long tan trench coat. They allowed room for support inserts. Get these. They’re solid and beautiful.

These are expensive, but worth the investment. They are beautiful, classic style and last for years. Youcan wear them all day , look good, and your feet do not hurt.

Wear these for work and they are very comfortable and good looking. I stand for hours in a retail store and have tender feet. These are perfect.

I was hesitant to spend so much on a boot, but I am so glad I did. It's perfect. Insanely comfortable, dressy enough for an evening out yet casual enough for leggings. Don't hesitate.

I really like these shoes. They fit great and are very comfortable.

I have a very wide, short foot, and a high arch. It's really hard to find shoes which let my toes wiggle. These are comfortable right out of the box, and stylish enough to wear with a dress and tights. I am not sure I would want to walk for miles since there isn't much padding under the foot, but great for everyday, for work, etc.

Great boots. My second pair. I live in them. They look classic with all of my pants and are incredibly comfortable. I live in my old ones, rainy days and mud in the park. My new ones are for dressing up. Highly recommend.

These shoes are superbly made and incredibly comfortable. I can be on my feet all day long, and they don't hurt at all. I love the leather, the quality of the zipper, and the sole. This style isn't so cutting edge, but I know it will last for years. Definitely worth the price.

I really love these boots! La Canadienne doesn't create many boots in smooth leather so I grabbed them when I saw them. I am a consummate size 5 and they fit me well--the only issue is that the shaft of the boot is small and I have skinny ankles--they are a bit tight but I know will loosen with wear. Otherwise they are just the dressy bootie I needed. If these had a bit more heel on them, they'd be perfect! I just love their products!

These are the best boots ever!! I wore these all day the day I received them and they were so comfortable - fit like a glove with no break-in time. I was debating between size 8-1/2W and size 9W and am glad I went with the 9W. The 8-1/2 would have fit I think, but would have been a bit tight with thicker socks. If between sizes, I'd suggest ordering the larger size. They are a bit of a slim leg and I find that I can't zip these up all the way - I have to leave the top 1" unzipped, but I unfortunately have fairly thick legs, so this is not surprising. I find that they stay zipped up just fine even with the top 1" unzipped, and it's not noticeable since the top is covered by my pants anyway. Highly recommend these boots! I love them! They are pricey, but definitely worth the price - my last pair of La Canadienne boots lasted years.

I am replacing this boot which I wore out after 9 or 10 years. I ordered a 9 1/2, half size bigger than I had before, since my foot has spread and I'm now using orthotics (which this boot does NOT accommodate, but I'll take my chances.) In my old pair the arch support was fine. I agree that these boots are worth every penny. Totally waterproof and pretty warm for the thin lining; traction is fine. They are plain but look good with pants or skirt and tights. Yes the very top above the ankle is a little tight, but ok. My calves are on the big side and the elastic gusset on the outside helps. I love that I can wear these outside and not be overheated when going inside for shopping, meetings, etc. A great dress boot.

I bought these in the fall and wear them every day. I love these boots. I bought 8½W because of a bunion issue on one foot and they fit perfectly. The leather is quality and I like that they fit close to the ankle.
