This is my first pair of Allen Edmonds and I am extremely happy with them. The quality is unlike any other. They look great as I get many compliments on them.
The reason for comfort and overall fit average rating is that I am still breaking them in. I thought they would break ina little faster but I assume they will get more comfortable and fit better over time.

The Delray in Chili was the first AE shoe I bought, and still wear it all the time (though it shares the closet with 8 other AE pairs now!). Comfortable, solid, goes best with slacks/sportcoat, but I've worn them with suits too, and they don't look out of place (notwithstanding the balmoral vs bluchers with suits argument). Only thing that's keeping me from giving the shoe a 5 rating is that I have two pair, Chili and Black - Chili pair is perfect, but the Black pair has a bit of a 'wide' sole (probably about 1/8"+ wider overall) compared with my Chili pair, thus it looks pretty clunky. Other than that, have loved these shoes

This shoe is a great every day shoe to wear with a suit or dress pants. The comfort could be a bit better, but it does not discourage me from wearing them...and I own all three colors.

Not sure whether it's my fault I bought these in 6.5 D as the ones I tried at the store 6.5 E felt nice but a bit wide. I did measure my feet with AE guide and I am between D and lower so I thought D would do the trick. My problem is most stores do not carry 6.5 so it is very hard for me to figure out what to buy. I have to say I never had any issue with other brands so I am quite frustrated.
Shoes look awesome but they are too tight at the width. I may try to stretch them at the shoe repair shop otherwise I just cannot wear them an entire day. They fit OK in the morning and shoes hurt in the afternoon. This is just not acceptable for me.
If you can try them at the store and they fit, shoes look awesome.

These are great-looking shoes. The split-toe design works well for casual and all but the most formal business environments.
Like most of my other Allen Edmonds shoes, the leather and construction are solid. There are some very minor stitching imperfections on my pair, but you'd need to spend twice as much to avoid those.
My only gripe about these shoes is that the bottom eyelets on one shoe leave the shoelace at almost a 45-degree angle! I can see how it passed QC because it's only noticeable when they are laced. Unfortunately, I sent these to my cobbler to have rubber sole guards attached before I even laced these, so I guess I'm stuck with them.
I've bought a pair of Allen Edmonds about once a year on average for the past 10 years and all have been great except for the 2 I bought in 2012. Though the issues are minor, QC is clearly not what it once was.
Overall, great shoes, just inspect closely before wearing. If you buy online, be prepared to send them back if you expect shoes without obvious flaws.

I've had this shoe for about 6 months and it is just now getting broken in. The black leather is stiff and was very unconfortable for several months. I normally wear an 11 D, but I think an 11 E would have been the correct size for this style.

I am very satisfied with my Delrays. I have a pair in the chili color, which is quite versatile, as it works with my business casual wardrobe (khaki or mid-grey trousers), as well as with lighter-colored casual suits. They are very comfortable for dress shoes, and seem well made with nice leather. I've owned them for about a year, and I expect to enjoy many more years of use from these shoes.

Personally speaking, Delray is very comfortable and trendy. It quite fit my feet shape. It is especially perfect to match with suit and dress pants. However, it still take me some time to take care of the leather surface. On the whole, I love Delray very much.

The Delray has superior quality with great leather craftsmanship, a nice snug fit, and pretty good comfort for a dress shoe!
I own two pairs of the Delray, and my only complaint is that the leather (top) on the chili pair is much stiffer than the dark brown pair, which is very soft and comfortable in comparison. The chili pair took much longer to break in, and the level of comfort doesn't even compair to the dark brown pair...

The shoe makes a strange clopping sound when you walk. The soul doesn't seem solid enough, feels flat when walking. This is my second pair of EA.

Okay looking shoe but ran a full size too large. Even sized down, the heel box was much too wide. Have five pair of Edmond Allen shoes...this is only pair which disappoints.

At this price range, I expect a dress shoe to be comfortable. The inserts are very hard.

Surprisingly long shoe. Little disappointed in the construction or the leather used in construction.

These shoes just didn't appear to be of the same quality I have enjoyed and come to expect in my many purchases of Allen Edmonds shoes over many years. The leather was thin and weak, making me think they would not hold up well. I returned them in exchange for the Park Avenue cap toe.

Disappointed... vamp's leather cracked on my black left outer little toe mound after 5 years of meticulous care. (My first Park Avenues lasted 25 years!) Will buy replacement though... just disappointed.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A PAIR OF 12 D DELRAY SPLIT TOE CHILI SHOES. THEY ARE EXTREMELY TIGHT IN THE TOE AND WIDTH AREAS. I FELT THAT POSSIBLY I NOW NEEDED A 12 E, AND ORDERED ANOTHER PAIR OF DELRAY CHILI SHOES, THIS TIME -- 12 E. THE 12 E'S ARE A LITTLE BETTER, BUT STILL TIGHT IN THE TOE AND WIDTH AREAS. I ALSO CAN'T WEAR THEM FOR AN ENTIRE DAY. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MY FEET, UNTIL I READ SIMILAR REVIEWS CONCERNING THE TIGHTNESS IN THE TOE BOX AREA AND THE NARROWNESS OF THE DELRAY SHOE'S WIDTH.

I have been wearing Delrays for years. I had two pair of black Delrays in 9.5D that fit like a glove. When one pair could recently no longer be recrafted (beware of other cobblers doing anything else than gluing on heels), I decided to replace them with a new pair.
The new pair feels drastically narrower, lower and tighter than my old pairs. So far, I have not any outright pain wearing them, but they are slightly uncomfortable and they are bending in a weird spot (near the tip of the shoe), so I have been careful not to wear them for more than one day at a time and only on days where I knew I would not have to walk long distances. I still hope they will break in better eventually, but I don't think they will ever match the fit of my trusty old Delrays.
Reading the comments here from the last few months, I am puzzled why AE chose to change the fit of this shoe, since it was one of the most popular styles.

The shoe is generally comfortable, however, there is an annoying high spot under the insole in the left shoe. It feels like there may have been a glob of excess glue under the insole that my foot can feel whenever I walk or stand. This "high spot" cannot be seen with the naked eye and is not present in the right shoe.
Perhaps there is an easy fix. But maybe not.

I have several pair of Allen Edmonds with 6.5 E being my size. I ordered the Delray (brown) in 6.5 E and found the fit too be too long and too wide. I returned them at the store and replaced them with a 6 D. At first I thought they would be ok, but after wearing them a couple of times I realize I made a mistake. They are way too narrow at the toe. After recently wearing them at a wedding, my feet hurt so bad I'll probably never wear them again. I recently ordered a different pair, 6.5 D (black), however, these are being returned today because of poor fit. I wish they (brown) fit, they are a nice looking shoes, but I wasted my money if they hurt and I never wear them again.

This is a good shoe but I'm learning quick about lasts and not all 12's and not all 'B's are created equal. I have a narrow flat foot with very narrow heal and have always struggled finding shoes that fit well and have always made sacrifices for fashion. I decided when buying these to break down, get sized and just do it right. I went to the AE store in my area and got sized. They didn't carry any 12b's and had to bring them in. It took over 6 weeks and many calls and they would only bring in 2 pairs at a time!! Very frustrating. The first pair I had them bring in was a 13 which was too big and asked to bring a size 12. After not hearing anything for months I bought them online from an online store and got them next day. Took three or four wears to break in and thought they needed break in to feel better. Was wrong. Heal bow's and is too big, toe box little snug. Fits in mid-foot section but overall very uncomfortable. I would love to try Park Avenues or the like or maybe a Harrison. Sucks that I just broke the bank for these though!!
