AMAZING boots!! Finally!! Have been looking for YEARS for the right boot. Heel doesn't feel high at all- I wanted a flat boot and it's so comfortable even though it's 1.5" - it doesn't feel like it. Lightweight boot, yet has soft liner. Feels like very high quality. Very soft leather. Completely flexible sole (see video on Zappos to see how flexible the sole is). Just enough stretch at the top to stretch to fit as you zip the zipper. Minimal design - simple, like I wanted. The toe is so nicely curved and not bulky like so many others. Checks all of my boxes!!! LOVE them!! Athletic build, muscular legs, 5' 4". I got a 9.5 regular width and they are appropriately snug with the tiny bit of stretch in the upper calf to zip closed. 9.5 is my normal size for closed toe shoes with socks. Worth every penny !!

So, y’know that euphoric feeling when you slip into a new pair of shoes? Then, a nanosecond later, the doubt that ensues when you wonder if it’s really a great fit or only the marginal relief by comparison with the shoes you just shed. I loved the look at the Jennifer but they were simply too high heeled for an elderly lady with fragile body parts. The Passion model was seemingly the perfect height but I only wore them in the house for weeks before I could commit. When I finally got brave enough to wear them on the street, I was so pleased, then to the office all day. Of course, then I was disappointed I had waited but I’m sure I will enjoy for multiple seasons. The boots faded some black dye onto my legs at first but not after broken in. They are fabulous. Thank you Zappos.

I purchased a 71/2 Wide to accommodate my bunions. The fit in the foot is excellent. The calves were pretty snug the first time I put them on with jeans, but after wearing them a few hours they stretched out enough to be comfortable. These boots are pricy, but are made well, feel great and
have a classic look that won’t go out of style. Love them!

I really love these boots. It's been a long road to find them, with plenty of returning. These are the first boots I've found that don't look too equestrian or swashbuckling. Comfortable and easy to wear with anything!

I love these boots, they are gorgeous and classy. Warning to women with calves though, I had to take mine into a shoe shop and get them stretched, and this is something I’ve noticed with the La Cannadienne boots. I can’t believe I paid so much for a pair of boots, but I’m glad I did, because I love them!

La Canadienne Passion is a beautiful boot and the WW fit me perfectly. However, I need to return them. The calf was a bit too tight over very thin pants, so I know that I wouldn't be able to close the zipper over leggings or jeans. At the widest point, my calf measures 14.5". Had the calf of the boot been a little larger, I would have definitely kept them.

Liked the boot. Unfortunately, it was too tight around my athletic calves! :(

I was looking for a pair of classic, beautiful and eminently practical boots--and these are them! I got the black suede and love that they are simple and sleek. No distracting hardware. There's not much in the way of arch support so I had to add a slim orthotic. I am typically a 7 in boots and sized up to a 7.5 to make way for the orthotics and the option of wearing thicker socks, since these are my winter boots. If you only want to wear thin socks and don't need to add support then they run pretty true to size. This was definitely more than I wanted to spend on boots so I wore them around the house for ages before venturing outside... On my first day out I encountered a legit Seattle rainstorm and stomped through puddles with zero problems and the boots look like new. Some of the best money I've spent! So thrilled with these boots and definitely recommend them to anyone who wants something simple and classic.

First review I have ever written, but these are the best boots I have ever owned. This is my second pair. I bought the first pair approximately 5 years ago. I literally have walked miles in them on a daily basis and even once spontaneously hiked a mountain in them in Nor Cal. They traveled with me from the Bay Area to LA and now to Central Oregon and have worked out beautifully in these various climates. Last year I had them re-soled, and this year I decided it was time to get a new pair because I have simply worn them out. I also have severe arthritis in both of my big toes, requiring surgery later this year. This is the only brand that is comfortable and stylish. And in this brand, this pair and the blanche boots have worked best for me. LOVE.

I have had two pairs of these boots, brown and black, for at least 4 years and have wonr them constantly. I live in NYC and have had on either pair practically every day in all seasons except summer. They still look great after 4 years and I'm continually complimented on them. I had to have the heels tapped--or whatever it is cobblers do after heels wear down--a few times. In one boot the foot bed liner eventually started to give me some issues but I fixed that with some moleskin. I would still be wearing these same pairs if I hadn't had a baby and had my feet change because of this. Since the baby, I've tried numerous other boots, thanks to Zappos generous return and exchange policies, but I'm going back to these. They are great in yucky weather, great to dress up or down, and simply a classic. I hate how expensive they are but believe me, they are of a quality you don't see from a lot of other shoe manufacturers so for me they were worth every penny.

Awesome boots! I have terrible feet problems and have been looking for a pair of boots that don't destroy my feet for years. I also have a small calf which makes it difficult to find a pair that doesn't gape open. These boots are so comfortable and have a smaller calf circumference. I wore them all day without a single twinge of pain. They are definitely worth the money.

This is the 3rd pair of La Canadienne boots that I have purchased - as with my other La Canadienne boots they are excellent, keeping my feet warm and dry. My other boots I've had for 3 years at least and they still look great and wear well. I wear them all winter. With this boot I ordered the 39, my other boots were size 38 but these seemed a bit snug in the 38 so I opted to go up a size (typically size 8). With the 39 I can wear thicker socks and tuck my pants in them, but they are not too big for tights. They are great with pants or skirts. They are an excellent dress/work shoe for the winter, plus they look great with jeans. The La Canadienne boots are expensive but they are well worth the price because of their quality. I literally have worn my others almost every day during the winter, rain or snow.

I bought this style more than two years ago, and it still looks great! However, Passion really is not exactly a full 15" shaft. It falls more than an inch shorter than reported. They are still great boots though, very simple style, classic, comfortable heel height, hugs the calf nicely. But if you are looking for knee-high boots which are all the rage, these are not going to cut it. I would advise that the Passion boot shaft be remeasured to confirm height. Unless La Canadienne has upped the height of this style to fit the times?

I've been on the hunt for a well-fitting, comfortable and feminine knee-high boot. The Passion is really flattering, form fitting to my leg. I have pretty curvy calves and it was easy to put on. Sadly, I'm returning it because it's suede instead of leather, and really wish they made this in an espresso or black leather.

What a beautiful boot. I squeezed my 16 inch calves into the size 9 wide with some difficulty. Zipper is helpful. However there is a gusset, so the tight fit is okay. I'm pretty sure they'll stretch out a bit in time. The look dressy, but are as comfortable as can be. I really appreciate the round toe box and ample room for toes. I have had a lower lace up La Canadienne style for years, and in addition to being really comfortable, they've lasted in through many winters, and several heel replacements.

I am in love with this boot! You will find it to be warm, comfortable, and great looking. In cool/cold damp weather it wears beautifully. I have somewhat large calves, I was worried that I would not be able to zip the boot up. I had no problems. You will enjoy this boot, it is well worth the money. Enjoy!

This is an absolutely gorgeous boot. I was looking for something without buckles and other doodads. This has a classic elegance to it, so it's perfect for the office. The heel height is just right--stylish and comfortable for walking. These should last me for several seasons. Thanks, Zappos!

Great looking, simple shoe. It fits ok, but I think it will stretch in time. It was a bit narrow on my right foot at first.

This is the third pair of La Canadienne boots I've bought. While I wish I could find a less expensive brand that had the comfort and beauty of La Canadienne, I haven't. I teach 6th grade, and am able to wear these lovely boots all day with comfort and class - what a horrible pun.

I LOVE these boots! I have a few tall boots and wanted something a little sleeker with no hardware, and these fit the bill. It's an added bonus they are waterproof!
