Liked the look of the boot, but there was no padding on the foot bed at all. I have sore feet & need a padded foot bed. Otherwise I would have kept them!

I bought these boots in brown in a size 12. The sole felt true to size (and I have a narrow foot), and the color and style were lovely, but the upper part of the boot turned out to be way too wide for my skinny calf! If you haven't bought knee-high boots before and are considering investing in these, I'd recommend that you measure your calf circumference first. Mine turns out to be 13 inches, and this boot's "shaft circumference" is 14.5 inches -- which makes them look like huge waders, even when I tuck in my jeans. I think the rule of thumb is buy only around 1/2 inch greater circumference than the widest part of your calf. I'll be sending these back, which is too bad because aside from the calf size issue, they are beautiful and very comfortable!

I'm trying pair #3 of these boots - the first two I had to return because they were letting in water! Still, I'm blaming this on my feet, rather than the boots. Although I normally take a 7.5M, and these were an 8M, they were a bit too narrow for my feet and I think the stretching leather was the recipe for these boots' disaster. I'm trying again with size 8W, and we'll see what happens!

The wide width is, unfortunately for me, wide throughout the entire boot, including ankles and calves.

These boots weren't right for me. I was really trying to like these boots but I agree with one of the reviewers who wrote that the leather could be much better. For the hefty price I would expect a high quality leather but was surprised that that wasn't so. It looked cheap. It did feel comfortable but I did not like the look. However I may order a different type of boot from La Canadienne because of the comfort. My quest for the perfect riding boot continues.

Well-made, but doesn't look chic - Looks like my hunt is still on for chic winter boots. It's unfortunate because, as a size 10, this pair fit beautifully in the foot. It also makes your foot look small. But if you have skinny calves and a bigger foot, forget it. As a riding boot, I wanted a sleek, narrow shaft and this is not. But the biggest reason I'm sending this back...the waterproof leather does not look like you spent more than $100. It's a rather generic-looking boot and I was hoping for something a bit richer. It's a shame - the fit in the foot area is divine.

Not as nice as they look on Zappos - I have long, skinny calves, and I walk a lot in the winter. I was looking for good waterproof boots that had style, and after looking around for a while, I decided to purchase the Passion boot in black. I was so disappointed with the way they look... Not at ALL as chic as they look in the photo on Zappos. They're frumpy, especially at the top, even though they're tight around my calves. I was hoping to be able to tuck pants into them, but even with my skinny calves I won't be able to. I will say, though, that these may be the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I can walk in them for miles, and they really are waterproof and super-warm. My feet feel amazing in them, which is why I've decided to keep them. But I'll only wear them under pants, to hide my shame at their ugliness. I don't think they're at all worth the hefty price tag.

THESE BOOTS WERE FABULOUS other than horribly tight just above the ankles. Ouch. Returned.

Love La Canadienne. Already had two pair when I ordered this one. Unfortunately, quality control is a bit off with this boot. I have the brown suede Passion, and love them! So I ordered the black leather too. Foot fit was fine - true to size, but leg shaft was waaaaay too tight - could barely zip. And I have very narrow calves - this has been one of the very few boot brands I can wear. Disappointed.

I have had several pairs of La Canadienne boots and thought I was safe ordering the same size. WRONG. I usually wear an 8M but have been getting 8.5 M to have room for heavy socks etc. These boots in an 8.5 M are very narrow in the foot. Tried them on with regular socks and they are already way to tight. I have never worn a "wide" in shoes. Not sure if I will reorder or just send these back.

The calf was way too narrow. I can tuck my jeans into other boots from this brand. Couldn’t even close it over a bare leg.

Pretty boots but the 9W, my usual size was too big in the foot but too tight in the calf. I could barely zip them. Too bad no wide calf option available. Although quality appeared quite good, still not sure it justified this price tag. Been wanting to try so now I know. Returned.

I liked the boot however I've only worn it a few times and the sole of the shoe is already coming apart. The quality is not there for such an expensive boot.

I have bought these boots every year for five years. I used to swear by them for tough New York City winters. Last year I bought them on Zappos and within two weeks a nail was protruding from the sole of the boot and actually pierced my foot before I noticed it. I wrote it off as nothing, until this year, which took the cake. Two pairs of the boots broke - heel broke completely off from body within three weeks. The second time Zappos assured me that they would be personally inspected. But I am in the middle of my annual vacation, walking around Paris, with absolutely no walking shoes. I had to buy crap sneakers. I am really unhappy and will never buy Le Canadienne again; I have had cheap shoes that have held up better than this. Zappos thinks it was a "bad batch." Please explain that to the day I lost shoe shopping in the city of lights.

I have fairly thin calves and I was just swimming in these boots. I could fit rolled up socks in the calf area with my actual calves. Cute boots though. Great if you have hefty calves.

Beware. I am very disappointed in the durability of La Canadienne boots. I purchased the Callie model from Zappos 3 three years ago. They were comfy and fit well, but they are falling apart. The leather on one of the boots is separating from the sole. These boots cost a lot and I am. :(

Not very wide at all even though they are sold as wide. I have moderately wide calfs and am a normal size 8/10 in clothes and could not close a size 8.5 shoe.

Not a narrow calf boot - I'm not sure where they measured to get 12" circumference. The boot is 15" around the very top and 14" just under the cuff. I'm so disappointed! The leather is really soft, but they are not narrow. They looked really average on.
