What a nice pair of boots! I'd love to keep them, but I think I need a "D" otherwise I know they will hurt eventually. I put myself on wait list for 9.5 & D and even 9 & D. Love the design - classic and elegant, perfect for minimalists like me. Perfect fit for my relatively small calves.

I ordered a half size down based on other reviews and they fit like a glove on my skinny calves and felt very comfortable. Lovely boot, but unfortunately I ordered the dark brown leather, which was so dark brown it really looked black, so sadly back they went. But if you need a pair in black, they'd be perfect.

I needed a pair of warm, comfortable boots for winter trips to cold cities and tried many pairs. These are incredibly comfortable and I can walk in them forever. They are basic equestrian boots, very well made, but not the most stylish boots in my wardrobe. That said, they are the best looking, warm, comfortable boots I could find. I have slim but athletic legs. The boots are slim enough to wear with skirts, easily go over skinny or boot cut jeans but cannot be worn under anything that is narrow in the upper calf.

Beautiful, well made boot. My only complaint is that the leather rubs where it bends in at the front of my foot at the ankle. With wear the leather will probably soften at this spot.

These are nice looking boots, which work well with dresses as well as pants. They are pretty comfortable too, although not great for walking long distances.

Black suede is my 2nd pair of these Passion boots in wide width (7). I already own the brown leather (I'm typically 7 W or 7.5 M for LaCan). This is the best looking, best fitting pair of boots for my wide foot and I found it a very comfortable boot for walking around NYC. The black suede is a 1.5 inch taller boot than my brown leather which I bought 2 yrs ago. I'm ordering the black patent leather which fits more stiffly but I'm hoping it will loosen up. I agree with the other reviewer that the zipper on the leather and patent leather styles does bend inward just above the ankle but, I've found that if I smooth my leggings really well it's much less of an indent and it works. Agreed that the black suede is indeed very Kate and Pippa! I love it. A very smart looking classic style boot!

Gorgeous leather, comfie footbed...but on me the zipper caves into my ankle and it hurts, so must return. very bummed because we are supposed to get a lot of snow this year.

As someone who is only 5'2", it's a challenge to find boots that aren't too tall and then too loose at the top. These were ideal with respect to the shaft height and also the circumference. On top of this I have a wide foot and usually buy an 8 even though I am truly a 7.5, so when I ordered the wide in this boot in 8 and 7.5 to compare - I didn't even open the 8s since the 7.5W fit really well. Unfortunately, I think this boot is a little to utilitarian looking - so I will return these. If I had the luxury (money) to have multiple dark brown boots, I would definitely keep these, but unfortunately I do not.

These boots are very nice and are perfect for a more casual dress if you purchase the leather. There was a rim on the toe I didn't notice in the photo that takes the dressiness down a very small notch. The suede, though, was very nice looking. I marked "half size larger" as I normally wear an 8 in a shoe like this (flat to low heel) and tried both the leather and the suede. The 8 suede was huge; the 7.5 leather was snug, but not uncomfortable with a medium weight sock. I returned them before I could try out the waterproof claims so I'm unable to comment on this portion of them. Happy shopping.

These boots are made of beautiful leather. I went a half size up so I could wear warm socks and they are a little wide for my calves. Otherwise I love them.

Great boot, however the calf was too wide for me. I am 5'9" and 135. otherwise would have kept it. Great style, I like the rounded toe and cozy warm lining which is waterproof.

The circumference is not correct for a size 9 boot. It is 15" at calf and 15 3/4" at absolute top of boot. I have an average calf and ankle, and those areas both fit fine with a bit of room but I wanted something that fit snugly at top of boot so I thought the measurements that were listed on site would be perfect. But, they are bigger than listed and leaves a a gap at the top so I will be returning, unfortunately.

I could not get these boots over my calves, even though the description said 15" circumference. The size and width felt true to size. La Canadienne has the best boots as far as fit and style, but this style was not right for me.

This classic style, which I understand has been around for several seasons, fits extremely well. The boots’ good quality, waterproof leather, and go-with-everything styling make them a practical choice for city living where there's lots of walking. There are, of course, more stylish boots out there, but I haven't found anything that better satisfies my requirements in this price range. Overall, I think they'll be a good investment.

I wanted a comfortable winter boot because I have a 15-min walk to the metro for work but still one stylish enough to wear once I got to work. This boot meets my needs. Not as comfortable and cozy as my Uggs, but I wouldn't wear my Uggs at work...It's very sturdy for walking on icy sidewalks. I have average to wide calves and feet that are on the wide size of a B, and I don't have any problems with the sizing. The boot style is plain, but that makes it versatile -- I can just as easily wear it with jeans or a skirt. The leather is a rich nice chocolate brown, and I like the look of the chunky heel.

I love this boot! I've been wanting a comfortable, fashionable boot to do lots of walking, but didn't want to look like an "elf" (flat with pointy toes). I like wearing leggings and dresses, so it also needed a bit of a heel. A friend told me about this brand, and I took the plunge with Zappos, ordered at 4:30pm got them at 11 am the next day. AMAZING. They were instantly comfortable, which was a relief considering other reviews that said they ran narrow and tight. I have a wide-ish foot, and regular fits great, even a bit big when I don't wear socks. The calf is too tight for jeans tucked in, but I don't do that anyway. These are perfect for work and the weekend and I've worn them to NY which is the true test because I do a lot of walking and want to look stylish when I visit the big city. My only wish is that I'd have realized that only "riding" boots go all the way up the calf to the knee, these fall about 2 inches below the knee, which is normal, but not as flattering.

I’ve had these La Canadienne boots for a year and half, after much searching for the perfect boot that can stand up to the snow and ice of winter, as well look decent in the office. These boots do an amazing job at the first part - my feet never get wet, and they’re super comfortable (I added a thin padded insole for extra comfort). However, they’re a little dowdier than I expected when I purchased them. Not the cutest boots around, but by no means hideous either. Other posters have mentioned the leather looking cheap. I’m not sure that I would say it looks cheap, exactly; more that the leather starts off really soft, and I’ve found that it scratched easily, and looks worn in a way that polishing doesn’t really help. I still wear them often, and think they’re a classy alternative to ugly boots for the commute, but usually slip into something cuter for the workday. The search for the perfect boot continues...

I recently purchased a pair of La Canadienne Passion boots in brown. I was sad to find out that they were a little too narrow. I am a size 9.5 with a standard width foot; I never had an issue with width before so I was surprised. I also want to note that the color brown "in person" is just a little lighter (not a lot) than the picture online, but I would have kept them if they fit. The boots appeared well made and I have to say I was sad to have to return them. I just ordered a pair of Born Yvette boots from Zappos; I hope they work out. As far as Zappos goes, I love ordering from them as they make life so much easier with free shipping and speedy service!

They’re all right - The leather could be much nicer. They are very comfortable and warm. They are worth the money for the look. The quality is questionable. It’s hard to find a nice simple round toe boot and this was the closest I could find. Kinda worth it only b/c I could not find another boot like this.

Nice looking boot - Love this boot. A bit disappointed in the zipper stitching. I hope the threads don't fall apart. Not sure if this is just a flaw. HOWEVER, the look and feel of the leather is well worth the big bucks. Can't wait for it to be cold so I can wear them.

Versatile and attractive - Good looking, versatile and comfortable boots. They could use more arch support so I put an insert in them. Also I needed to stretch the forefoot because my heel is narrow and my forefoot is relatively wide. But I have a hard time finding boots and shoes that are comfortable so I am happy with these now and think they will feel even better the more I wear them.

Warm, dry boot - I like the fleece lining- it kept my feet warm all winter in snow and rain. My feet never got wet. The style is also pretty cute- I only have two complaints- the top of the boot isn't very snug on calves and so it looks more casual and the toe area got very warped from use, and even though I use shoe trees to maintain the shape, the shape hasn't held up well in the toe and looks a bit sloppy.

La Canadienne Passion - Gorgeous shoe with super soft leather. I have large calves, and although I was able to zip them up all they way, they were still pretty tight. Unfortunately I'll never be able to wear them with skinnies, but can manage with tights. I'm also going to order a W to see if it makes a difference in the circumference too; otherwise, I'm going to stick with the M. I'm usually a 7-7.5 and these were super roomy in the toe area in a 7.5.

These boots look OK (exterior) and are very comfortable, I have tried several over the past few weeks and these are by far the most comfy! However, they have a slightly sub-par quality look, inside lining is cheap & flimsy! For the price this is not acceptable...if they were a lower price they'd be a great value but at this price/quality I am sending them back.
