Oh, how I wish I could get these zipped up! If they could only make this boot for a wider calf I'm sure they would sell tons more.

Fantastic pair of boots! Classic, no-gimick style works with both casual and office looks. I wore these straight out of the box on a trip to Paris, where they got an immediate work-out for five cold and rainy days. Warm, water-resistant and comfortable, they reveal their quality as you wear them. One caveat: They may not work for those who are thick of calf. They were a sleek almost tight fit on my average leg.

I love this boot. I can wear it with jeans tucked in the boot or with skirts. I have a lot of foot issues and work retail, and this is one of the few boots that is so comfortable that I can stand up in all day. Perfect shade of brown too. I get compliments every time I wear this boot.

Amazing boots. Sunday brought unseasonably cold weather and a tube strike in London where I'm on vacation, leaving me to walk about 8 miles around the city. My feet were warm and comfortable all day, and I looked fashionable too! Quite simply worth every penny. Love that they come in wide widths. I have another pair of La Canadienne boots and won't shut up about how great their boots are.

If you can only get one winter boot, get this one. Its simple, classy style will work for office wear, and tramping through foot-deep snow. They are truly knee-high. I do not know how these would work for women with shorter legs. La Canadienne boots always fit like gloves, and are styled to make the foot appear a bit smaller. Good quality leather, superb construction.

I just bought my second pair of these after the zipper blew out on a three-year-old pair. I was disappointed about the zipper, but I didn't hesitate to replace the boots with the same model. I give these babies a pretty hard workout: tons of walking around NYC and SF, in all kinds of weather. They're comfortable (I buy a size up to wear cushioned socks), they battle the elements, and they look good enough to wear in 90% of situations. I'd prefer if they were a little sleeker in style, and they do need re-waterproofing after the first winter. But overall, a great everyday boot.

This is a great boot! I bought them in black and I loved them so much that I bought a pair in brown as well. They are very comfortable and warm. They look nice with pants or skirts. I wore them for the first time in snow this winter, and they held up well with the cold snow and slush. I'm very happy to have found another pair of La Canadienne's that are great! These boots are pricey, but they are well worth the price if you want nice quality boots that will hold up over the years.

Love these boots, love La Canadienne in general. They're a reliable, comfortable, great way to fit my size 12 feet (I'm 5'9"). Ready to wear for long periods right out of the box, they look good with lots of different outfits. I have the brown ones from a few years ago and they weather well. Glad to add these black ones, now. Heel is extremely comfortable, I like the rounded toe, I wear them with leggings/skirts or dresses (casual). I've tried on dozens of black boots this season that didn't work out (thanks, Zappos for your free return policy!), and you get what you pay for. Rock solid.

This boot is beautiful in a very nice understated way. The leather is matte, very soft and supple but not too thin. It has a very classic timeless look. Unfortunately my usual 8.5 was loose in the toe box but tight at the top of the shaft, though my calves are just a tad under 14.5 inches, which I thought was average. Too bad they don't have black in an 8, but I'm going to give the brown a shot.

These are great boots and very comfortable. Excellent quality. Price substantially increased from last year -- the only negative.

These are WONDERFUL boots but I just can't justify the price. They fit well and were pure comfort right out of the box. I love Zappos - the service and product explanations are the BEST!

This boot is a keeper! I have tried many different La Canadienne styles, sizes, and widths, and this is the one that feels custom-made for my foot. I am 5'1" with short legs, slim ankles, and wide feet. The slightly rounded toe box is roomy and the fit around my ankles and calves is comfy without looking too large. While there is a slight gap around the top of the boot which only emphasizes my bowleggedness (a normal issue with me), the overall comfort and quality of this boot can't be beat! I just ordered another pair of the Passion boot in brown leather in my usual size 7 W. Thank you for the excellent customer service, Zappos!

Love these boots! Size is accurate, very comfortable, high quality, well made boot. I have a narrow calf and they are a bit roomy in the calf but still love them! Get lots of compliments!

I have to walk about a mile to and from public transportation to get to work, and these boots are perfect -- very warm, comfortable, and non-slipping, but they still look good with a skirt. Although they are plain in styling, the brown leather is soft and attractive. I agree with other reviewers that the shaft is probably on the wide side. My calves are at least medium width, if not larger, and I can comfortably tuck a pair of corduroys inside these boots.

I think La Canadienne boots are wonderful. I now have three pair. They all fit and look great. The best feature is that they are waterproof, which is very important in Seattle. Great quality, pricey but worth it.

This is the great classic-looking boot that I was looking for! Looks good with a jean skirt and tights, and I can comfortably tuck my jeans into them. There is no gaping at the top. I have athletic calves and these boots fit perfectly, as there is a small 3 inch long amount of stretch sewn into the side (near the zipper) right at the top. The leather is butter soft. I ordered my usual size 6 and they fit perfectly. Thanks Zappos!

I got these, along with two other LC styles and chose Passion for their comfort (fine all day, right out of the box) and classic style (i.e., for the price, please look good forever!). The dark brown is lovely. I'm 5'9" and, sure, they could be an inch taller. But I also have very high arches and found these comfortable (I put an arch support pad in for extra measure).

FInally!! The perfect pair of boots! I wanted something timeless, waterproof, and that didn't have a huge gap around my legs (My legs are kinda skinny). I think I will be able to wear these for years! Thanks Zappos!

This boot is amazing...and amazingly expensive. I needed weatherproof, warm, comfortable, knee-high boots. I needed them to be rugged to walk down my snowy rural driveway, but "nice" enough to wear to work. I tried several boots and these (in black) were the winner. These boots are beautifully constructed, are comfy to wear all day long, rainproof so far, easy to get on and off, and a classic un-faddish style which I think will continue to look good as the leather breaks in. The sizing is "true." I wear a 7 in boots and oxfords, and an 8 in sandals and pumps. I tried this boot in a 7 and 7.5, and the 7 was the right size. The only problem is the boot gaps out noticeably at the outside edge of the top. I'm petite with short legs and somewhat-thin calves, so someone more average-size might not have this problem. I wish La Canadienne would make a "short person" version of this boot! In the end, that wasn't a deal-breaker, because everything else about the boot was so nice. I might look into having the top seam taken in.

Love these boots. In fact, I get inquiries as to where I found them each time I wear them. Great for looking good and for bad weather. It is wet here in Seattle!

Great boot, warm, waterproof and looks sharp. If you want a well made boot without any bling, this is the shoe for you. The boot was a little fitted during first wear but has gotten perfectly comfortable after that first day.

I needed some good boots that span work and going out. These are perfect. I usually wear nothing but new balance running shoes or Keens. I walked half a mile in them the first time I wore them, and they were no problem. If they really are waterproof, these will a staple in my closet.

Wearing them right now! I don't want to wear any of my other shoes in the rainy fall of Alaska. They are super comfy, cute, and versatile. As a girl with slimmer calves, I could have used a tighter fit around the calves, but overall, very few complaints. Wear them with dresses, skirts, under jeans (I don't own any skinny jeans), they're great!

These are comfortable, truly waterproof, stylish and classic. I think they are just a little plain so I got some straps with buckles from a tack shop and added them, just buckled them loosely around the ankle. These are good with shorter skirts. I don't like the look with longer skirts.

I was looking for a weather resistant boot and read review after review. The La Canadienne boot got rave reviews for being comfortable yet good looking. I thoroughly agree. I am a kindergarten teacher and am on my feet for many hours in a day (no rest at all). My last pair of boots would hurt after only 30 minutes of teaching. These boots are so incredibly comfortable. I have wide feet and the width was great. However, they are wide in the ankle as well, which was a bit weird but not awful. They look great tucked in to jeans or with skirts, very versatile. Not a sexy look, but more of a riding boot style. For the price, they are phenomenal.
