Great versatility - It’s great for foggy days, windy days, and almost every day in between. It’s lightweight enough to wear on a cool summer night but can also withstand the cold windy drizzly days during the California wintertime. It’s a soft-shell but the fabric moves with your body. It’s a standard fit so even though I wear a small in the North Face Denali, I had to get a extra small for the Apex Bionic.

Great - I have this jacket and I completely love it, it’s comfortable and warm and at the same time it’s not bulky. Buy it!

This jacket is really warm and wind resitant if a little stiff. In fact, I find it too hot to wear while running errands and end off taking it off in every store. Perfect for taking a walk on a cold day.

I bought this jacket (size M) because I wanted a very warm, very wind-resistant jacket to wear while riding my motorcycle. Before this one, though, I purchased the men's jacket of the same name in size small, which I couldn't wear because of the fit and the lack of a smaller men's size. This is indeed a very well-made product, but oddly it falls short of the men's jacket in all respects. The seams are not as sturdy. The zippers are of lesser quality. The fabric is thinner, less waterproof, less windproof, not as warm. There are no velcro closures on the cuffs. There is no cinch-cord on the waist. And yet the men's & women's jackets have the same name and the same price. Also, I don't think this jacket does anything to flatter a female physique. On the plus side, it's easy to turn it inside out and sew a new side seam / arm seam to make it fit better. What's great is that overall it will keep you warm (& mostly dry) despite its thinness & its lightness. But North Face should not have a double standard for their men's and women's lines.

Theses are decent, but overall too large. This is my fourth windwall 1, but first fleece backed. The fit is very different, much larger, wider in body, longer in sleeve, and sleeve cuffs are also wide/loose. I tried a medium in the store, but it fit weird, narrow hips and shoulders, so I would still get the large, but I do not love it like the previous. I am usually medium/large in tops, 8/10 on pants & dresses. I hope they revise back to the original fit.

Nice construction but not well thought out. This is a good jacket for cool weather, but not cold. The material is great (resists wind and water), but the sizing runs small and the zippers are cheap. Sleeves are tight-don't expect to wear any layer heavy than a tee underneath. Two hands are needed to open or close pocket zips. Pockets are roomy. Not the best TNF product by any means.

Weird fit and disappointing - This jacket just didn't fit my body at all, so I had to return it. I first ordered a large (according to sizing chart for bust and waist measurements) and it was just huge on me everywhere. The sleeves were way too long and there was a lot of excess fabric around the torso. Not flattering at all. So I tried it in a size medium and the sleeves fit, but then the chest was too tight. I wouldn't be able to wear anything more than a thin t-shirt underneath if I wanted to have it zipped up and still be comfortable. Also, the material is not what I expected either, it was very stiff and not very soft. I'll just have to keep looking for a good comfortable soft-shell jacket.

Disappointed.... Is very short and does not fit well at all. It looks good and fits around me well ... but is very short.

First time I found something cheaper than Zappos. I originally bought the blue in a medium, as I read reviews that it was a little tight. Zappos service was fast, but the jacket was too big for me. I'm 5'0 and 120 lbs. So I returned it with the prepaid label, with the intention to purchase a small. Went to the mall and got the small cream colored one on sale. Doesn't happen often, but this time Zappos was not the cheapest.

This is a very fitted jacket that can only be worn over a T and hard to envision as a stand alone jacket. Definitely not worth the money. Much happier with a fleece.

Awkward, unfeminine and unflattering fit. It's relatively more fitted around the waist, and then gets more boxy and shapeless as you go up towards the bust arms and shoulders. Also quite short in front, it almost felt cropped (who was this designed for??). I wanted something that I could wear comfortably on chilly spring/fall days, but that would have me covered if it happened to rain (I bought the hooded version, which is sold out now). But this is just not comfortable at all. Picture an incredibly stiff 100% polyester jacket. I guess I'll stick to my comfy fleece types for everyday warmth, and stash the unstylish raincoat in my car and hope for the best. I guess I expected more for the price and the name, but I'll be going back to my Marmots and Patagonias (heads and shoulders above North Face in fit and style).

Despite complaints from others regarding the collar, I haven't had an issue with it. It doesn't rub, and I had no trouble folding it down. It does have a snug fit, so I ordered a size up so I can layer. I've found it warm enough on its own in 45 degree weather, and I am warm in 25 degree weather when I add my North Face fleece pullover underneath it.

I really like it although I should have gotten it a smaller size as it runs bigger. I ordered size medium and it's a bit big for me, a size small would have fitted better. The sleeves are really long.

I bought this jacket for a spring coat. I love it, it keeps you warm from windy days. I bought the small and it fits great, I too do agree though arms are a little long but nothing that looks silly. The fabric is great, it will not get worn or faded. It is definitely worth it and seems like a coat that will last. Also, great job Zappos on speedy delivery, just in time for a trip that I had planned.

Great jacket. Love the color. I'm glad I got the medium instead of a small. I read the reviews which said it runs small. It's fitted and a little stiff.

Got this North Face jacket for my college student for Christmas. She wanted one for a long time and loves it! She is only 5'2 and so it is a little longer than she likes (hits in the hips) and wish they had petite but loves the microfiber material (no lint!) and the sleeves are long but not so long she has to roll them up. It is a more fitted jacket, so at 140 pounds, I bought a large and it fits great!

My daughter loved the jacket. It fit her perfectly and looked stylish. She can wear it under another coat without bulkiness for extra warmth or wear it alone.

Bought for my wife for Christmas. She loves it. Coat is light weight and warm. Zappos delivered the coat in one day. Very impressive.

This is a great product! I have worn mine almost nine months out of the year for the past eight years with very little sign of wear. The craftsmanship is excellent. The zippers still function as they did when I first put it on. This is the perfect light weight jacket. It has long sleeves and waist coverage for us tall women. The colors this year are a little weird.

My wife bought the men's version of this jacket for me last year and this Christmas I returned the favor. She is 5'8" and 140 lbs. and I bought her both the medium and large to ensure that she wasn't disappointed with the wrong size on Christmas day. The medium only allowed for thinner garments underneath, but the shape was very feminine and a contrast from the men’s jacket. The large jacket allowed for a larger sweater/sweatshirt to be layered underneath but fit more like a men’s jacket. She ultimately picked the medium, looks great and loves it! The fabric is stiffer than a traditional fleece but it is warm enough and its waterproof qualities should be perfect for our pending move to Seattle. The green color is gorgeous on her.

Great jacket! Love that it's not just a fleece outer like most of the lighter North Face jackets; will work well in rain, too. Runs small though; I wear Medium in all other North Face products, this one I took a Large, though.
