I have a ruptured disk and stenosis at my L3 vertebrae. When I walk or stand in any shoes, my left leg goes numb. MBT's are the only modality I have found for relief. I have tried Asics Kayano's for cushioning, Earth shoes for the effect of a negative heel, but no other shoe, massage, acupuncture, or medication has affected such a positive change. Although they are overpriced, I cannot deny being free from pain. I am very fit so my body did not suffer any break in period but the shoes really "take off" after about 10 hours of break in. There is no arch support but that is integral to muscle recruitment rather than joint stress. I highly recommend MBT's to anyone who has back pain, would like to improve their posture, and their waling efficiency. Too bad they are so ugly; yet it is more than offset by the relief.

Great shoes!
I love these shoes, I just wish they weren't so large looking. I understand however, that it is due to the unique makeup of the shoe and for that I can live with it. They are great and really do work leg muscles I don't normally feel with regular walking shoes. Everything that was stated in other reviews is right on, I walk straighter and no discomfort and look forward to breaking them in on my treadmill! Thanks!

Excellent walking shoes!
I can't believe what a difference in my feet and back. I walk 2.5 miles every day and usually have extreme left heel pain. I have plantar fasciitis and arthritis in my feet. I also have arthritis in my lower spine. These shoes are all they say they are. They fit true to size as well. Thanks!

THIS SHOE CAME HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR REDUCING BACK PAIN. HAVING HAD AN ANKLE AND LOWER BACK FUSION, I WAS IN CONSTANT PAIN. WHEN I HAVE THIS SHOE ON, THERE IS NO PAIN, AND I WALK TALLER AND CAN FEEL THE STRENGTHENING IN MY LEGS. FANTASTIC CONCEPT! WISH THEY WERE LESS EXPENSIVE AND I WOULD HAVE MANY MORE STYLES.

MBT Sport Low - Feel great, look dorky!
Let's face it, most of us are pretty vain. I am one of the worst but I will swallow my pride and wear my MBTs for the comfort and health benefits. I usually wear a 9 but bought a 9 1/2 based on some of the reviews and I am glad I did. The heel does feel slightly loose but not terrible. It only took a couple of steps for me to get used to the sole technology. I love the rocking motion!

I recently purchased the MBT’S on the recommendation of my friend Lydia. She knows I have back problems and said they would help. I could not believe it when I put them on, after just a few minutes my back did not get the constant ache that is always there. The shoes are great, especially if you’re on your feet a lot. I wear them all the time; will probably buy a pair of sandals for the summer also.

The first time I wore my MBT for about 4 hrs and felt a bit unsteady and notice a slight discomfort to the shoes lace area on both feet. The next day I wore them again this time I was able to wear them for about 8 hrs and then my feet felt heavy. The followings days I increased the hours and now I can wear them without any discomfort. Now I look forward to wearing them all time. I can really tell the difference when I wear my Asics...they feel like low riders and my right heel starts to hurt. I presently suffer from planter fasciitis and my MBT have taken my pain away. I highly recommend MBT especially if you suffer from planter fasciitis.

Relief!
I have had some foot problems (plantar fasciitis) and have wide feet. I have been wearing the expensive New Balance running shoes to work in (on my feet most of the day) and they do OK for a while. I usually have to change shoes before the day is over to relieve pain. I bought the MBT's and I no longer have to change during the day, and my feet no longer hurt at night or when I get up in the mornings. They help keep my calves stretched (the primary cause of plantar fasciitis is tight calf muscles) and my feet don't hurt! I will be wearing these from now on; hopefully I will be able to wear any shoes because the problem is going away with these.
Highly recommended! And of course from Zappos, the best shoe store online.

Worth the price and worth the break in time!
Well, this is the second review...it took over one month to get used to these things...now, can't live without them! Already deciding what pair I will get next. (don't think you can just get these and walk out the door...first you need to practice walking in them, then you have to get your legs used to walking in them...they are an exercise machine disguised as a shoe)so about 4 weeks into it, you are in shape to wear them all day...oh, and when your feet burn, and they will, it is cause the circulation is getting back to your feet where it is supposed to be! Guess I will also have to get a pair of sandals for the summer too...cause I think the closed toe would be way too warm. As for looks, everyone at my new part time job ( I work two jobs and stand on my feet more than 15 hours per day) say they want a pair because I never complain that my feet hurt ..and they always do.

Frankly, I was skeptical that these shoes could make any difference in the way that the ad claimed. But they have. Within a few days my knees were noticeably more flexible and comfortable. In about ten days, my thighs and buttocks were definitely firmer. They fit better than any athletic shoe I've ever had, with enough room in the toe box without slipping in the heel. (My foot is a bit triangular (wide ball and narrow heel.) Also, they make me look a little taller. I absolutely love them.

These shoes immediately made me stand taller, and after the first couple of days, I actually could feel my legs getting tighter. I needed a good supportive shoe to help with my worsening plantar fasciitis. As a nurse, I stand 12 hours a day, and I was amazed to find that this shoe really helps. My posture is better, my back feels better, and I feel as if everything falls into alignment when I wear them. They’re worth the price; orthotics are more expensive and don't do as much.

My sister owns two pairs of MBT and recommended these to me. I had my doubts but I'm really convinced that these are worth the money. My feet are flat and they get tired or sore after I walk an hour or so no matter how comfortable the shoes I'm wearing are. I haven't had any pain whatsoever since I've worn these shoes. I received my MBT's about a week ago and so far, so good. I was very wary, especially about the sizing. I'm a 7 1/2 and read some reviews where people have either have to go a size lower or half a size higher. I ordered the 7 1/2's and they fit perfectly. Very comfortable. Also I don’t' agree about the "ugly" factor so often mentioned in the reviews. It definitely has a different look, but I would not call them "ugly".
So far I've taken a couple walks (about 30 minutes each) and just today decided to try out a Kickboxing routine that I've been doing for a while. I can't believe the difference in both the walking and other exercises. The intensity is incredible. No discomfort so far and when I walk, I feel like I have much more energy. The one complaint (although minor) is the one concerning those annoying shoelaces! It is tough to keep them tied. But aside from that, I am very happy with my purchase. Thank you Zappos!

They may be ugly, but they're amazing!
There's no denying that these shoes are fairly unattractive, but it's easy to get over your self-consciousness quickly once you discover how awesome they feel. I wear my MBT's every chance I get, and I've even started parking farther away from my destination just so I can get in some extra walking with them on. When I first started wearing them, I had sore gluteus muscles for a couple of days, and then my calves and hamstrings followed suit. Once I broke them in, they became the most comfortable shoes, and I love how they engage my core & butt while working out muscles in my legs that have been very neglected. If these shoes weren't so incredibly expensive, I'd own ten pairs. I'm saving-up to get the higher ones next.

I found these on vacation, my feet hurt from walking, I put a pair of these sandals on and, after I felt how great they were on I ran, yes ran to see if they had Black shoes for work, they did I bought them, my feet have never felt better. FYI I am 51, and a bit over weight.
