I had lusted after this boot for nearly 3 years before finally taking the plunge. Love. The leather is awesome. The boot fits really well, despite my large calves. The color on the toe has already been scuffed a bit which is really disappointing, but I'm just going to run these to my shoe repair to get that covered and pick up stuff for keeping the leather in good condition.

Stylish boots! - A bit tight initially. Make sure to break in well before a long outing.

These shoes are so beautiful. I love to look at them, but I\'m a little nervous about wearing them. The last 2 times I have worn them, I have developed these terrible blisters on my heels, bilaterally. Granted I live in NYC, and I love walking everywhere, this could be the problem as I guess they aren\'t broken in yet. I\'m hoping they will break in soon, because my poor heels are killing me.

These boots are lovely. I've never spent more than about $150 on a pair of shoes, and then only for heavy duty backpacking boots. I have a high volume foot with a high arch and my normal size (9.5) was too tight, so I opted for the 10, thinking it might allow me to put in an arch support. I've not yet done that, but these are surprisingly comfortable right out of the box. I've worn them already for 4-6 hours a few times, with no ill effects. I'm glad they have rubber grip stuff on the bottom, so I can walk in slick weather. The heel is just right, if you're a person who actually likes to walk in your boots. The color (dark brown calf shine vintage)is a tiny bit funny and sort of a faux antique, but only if you stare at them, and I figure that will mellow with age. all in all, though chagrined to have spent this kind of money on pretty boots, I am pleased with my splurge.

I love these boots, even though they aren't as tall as I thought and they are tight across the top of the foot. Just try to wear them around the house before you wear them out.

First thing I have to mention is that Zappos is a top notch company! I originally ordered the Heath boot (in that fabulous maple brown color), but they were so ill fitting. I took them on a trip with me without ever wearing them, big mistake. As these were the only footwear that I brought with me I had to wear them, no matter how thick of a sock I wore my foot (especially the heel) was slipping all over the place. When I returned from my trip I called Zappos and they gave me a one time courtesy exchange. I have returned my shoes in the past, but I have never worn them! This company really takes care of their customers. I will continue to be a loyal customer to them. OK now as for the Veronica boot, I like them but I don't love them as other reviewers do. The fit is still slipping but not as bad as the Heath. I feel the heel is always slipping on most Frye boots that I have tried. I like the slouch. I bought black but in the future I will buy brown (they look a little like police boots in black) the brown color would have been way better with my wardrobe. Thanks Zappos your by far one of the best companies around!

These boots run true to size & don't require any breaking-in time. They are a little bit "slouchier" than I'd anticipated. I don't have wide calves, so they tend to fall down a little, unless I wear them under jeans. The sole & heel are well-made, but I think that the leather could be a little thicker, for the price.

I had originally bought a pair of Steve Madden knee high boots from Nordstroms that looked very similar to these and I returned them because the construction quality was really crappy, for a pair of boots at that price! So disappointing. So I splurged and got the Fryes, and glad I did. The quality cannot be beat. I have large calves and they fit around them! It's a miracle, but they're not loose at the top. Have had tons of compliments on them. I like that I can wear them with jeans or a skirt. Sad the footbed flap is coming up inside one of them. I have fat feet, too, and they fit true to size.

Great boots. A little struggle to get on but once on, so comfortable and cute. Will last forever. I usually buy half a size up in Frye boots, but these were perfect in my true size 7.

Mostly, I'm extremely happy with my new boots - I thought about the purchase for awhile because it’s more than I usually spend on shoes. But they were exactly the look that I had been looking for and I couldn't find anything similar for less. Mostly I'm extremely happy with the purchase. The right shoe feels slightly tight if I wear them for extended periods of time but so far I've only worn them twice so I think they will get more comfortable with time. I also have to wear thin socks with them, which I was anticipating, but this does make them a little cold in the middle of a Pennsylvania winter. In retrospect I wish I had gotten them slightly larger so that I could wear heavier socks with them if needed. But overall, I'm very happy. As anticipated, they look great both with jeans and with skirts and dresses. I am planning on having them for a long time and I think they're a great addition to my wardrobe.

Gorgeous on the outside, but painful on the inside - I absolutely love the look of these boots. I strut around like a peacock when I'm wearing them... that is until the blisters kick in and I have to limp a little. I normally wear an 8.5 and wear these in that size with trouser socks. In retrospect, I kind of wish that I had bought a size 9 to wear with heavier socks. The toe box is a weeee bit too narrow, so I end up with blisters on the little toes of both feet, but the absolute WORST is the heels. The heels are too loose and rub a quick and nasty blister. I think if I put some heel inserts in, that may solve the problem. However, the pains of break-in will not deter me from loving these boots. I got them in the darker brown...SO beautiful and such a classy-looking boot. They go with absolutely everything, but I wear them mainly with skirts and dresses. The leather on the shaft is buttery soft and after the first wearing, I've had no problems getting these on and off. So overall, I love the boots... just have to wear them sparingly until I can get them broken in.

I LOVE THESE BOOTS - I got them in black and OMG they are so unbelievably hot!! The only thing is they are insanely hard to put on if you are not wearing a sock. I suggest you wear a thin slippery sock. I first tried putting them on without socks and yeah that took forever. Then I put on socks and they went on much easier. I went 1/2 a size down and with socks they are a good fit. I have the Veronica shorties also and bought them in a size 6.5 first, they were way big, like my heel kept slipping and my feet looked ginormous so I knew to get a 6 in these boots. Buy these boots!!

Beautiful, but too tight - I ordered these in my normal size, in two different colors (brown and gray). Both were too tight over the instep for me to get my feet into them easily. One pair I could pull on with no socks, the other I couldn't get my feet into at all. Strangely, one pair had a bottom buckle that couldn't be unbuckled, while the other was easy to unbuckle, but unbuckling didn't help with the instep problem. The boots are beautiful (especially the brown) and very well made, but I need boots I can wear socks or tights with.

Really cute and high quality - Stylish, cute, and really comfortable! The leather is high quality and the boots are comfy enough that you don't need to worry about breaking them in. I ended up returning them because they felt a little too wide around the calf - I decided I didn't want to pay the price for them unless they were absolutely perfect in every way. Yay for Zappos’ awesome return policy though.

Love them - These boots are great. Comfortable and look great. I've gotten tons of compliments. The only problem is it takes me a full five minutes to put them on. Even though they fit fine once my foot is in I have to really work to get it in there.

Love the look, couldn't get them on! I loved the look of these, they have the buckle I want and Frye quality is exceptional. But I too couldn't get my foot into them at all! I guess I could order a larger size but these boots usually run large anyway. I couldn't undo the buckle either; unfortunately I will be sending them back.

Frye’s Slouch Boot - This boot looks great with skinny jeans tucked in. It has distressing and looks already worn...v. cool. Fits well. Do not order down. I'm a US 9-1/2 to 10, euro 41, and I ordered the 10. I also own the black ones, and received 3 compliments on the day I wore them.

Great fall boot - I think it is true to fit, I wouldn't recommend getting a ½ size bigger. This boot looks great over skinny jeans and with mini skirts. It can be a little hard to put your foot into, though.

Good look, hard to get on - These are pull-on and it becomes difficult to slide on. I really like this, but if I had found a similar style that had just as good of quality and zipped up, I would have preferred it. I can't wear thick socks with this either.

Veronica slouch brown - Beautiful boot. Difficult to slip on and off, but once on, it is ok. The color was a little reddish (light) for me, but after an application of Mink oil paste, it turned the leather to a much darker richer brown. They look perfect now. If I could only get the buckle to open up to loosen the boot...

Great boot, but the color is too reddish - The boot is very well made. I ordered a half size up since I have high arches and because the toe box is more narrow/pointed. It took me forever to get these boots on, but thanks to the other reviewers I kept trying. The boot does stretch out after a while, so don't give up! The heel is low - not the best look if you're on the shorter side and could use some height. My main gripe is that the color is too reddish and it is noticeable if I'm wearing brown clothes.

Well made, beautiful, stylish, but ultimately impossible to get on and off easily. I had to return them for this reason.
