A very comfortable hiking boot. Nice simple styling without too many hinges and plugs etc. Feels like a more expensive boot than the price would reflect. I found the insole to be arched in the wrong shape for my foot but this was fixed easily by replacing it with a Sole brand heat moldable insole for a perfect fit. Excellent boot.

Great Boot - A lot of boot for the price. I have been wearing them daily for about a month now and they are very comfortable. I was a little concerned about the Nubuck upper, but they are holding up well and showing little sign of wear. Overall, a very well made boot.

Great Hiking Boot - The most comfortable hiking boot I've ever owned. After a day hiking in the Smokey Mountains my feet felt like I'd been in tennis shoes.

Love 'em, love 'em! I wear a size 15 shoe; it has always been difficult to find shoes that are comfortable, fit my foot, and have adequate support. My wife chose these boots based on reviews that others had written and apparently the reviews were all dead on. I am entirely pleased with these Hi-Tecs; I have worn them every day since I got them, and I am planning on purchasing another pair to tuck away for the future. I have never had a better pair of hiking boots.

“AWESOME SHOE” I never bought a pair of shoes by "mail order" or by the "web" before, my dad always said "It’s like buying a pig in a poke" but I have to say that this time he was wrong. These shoes felt good right out of the box. I am on my feet all day, I prefer sneakers but winter is coming here in the Northeast and I needed a pair of water proof boots that were comfortable and light. "I HATE HEAVY BOOTS." Nice job on these boots Hi-tech, please don’t stop making this model as I will be buying another pair next year. And as for you Zappos, I will see you long before then. It is nice doing business with someone who delivers on what they say. I had these boots in 4 days at no cost to me. "YOU JUST CAN’T BEAT THAT."

Excellent Boot - The Hi-Tec Altitude IV is a surprising value. It has the fit and construction normally found in much more expensive boots. Heal is broad and stable, good for hiking. My pair is a 10 2E wide with good room but not too much room like some wide boots have. I especially like the ankle and heel fit because it is snug and not sloppy like most wide sizes. I had little break in and have put about 20 miles on the boots. They have a beveled heel sole area and front sole area like a good walking shoe. My normal size is 9.5 2EE but the toe box in this size was really short. The 10 EE does not appear to share the same short toe box proportions. I also tried a low cut Hi-Tec and experienced the same differences between the 9.5 EE and 10 EE.

Hiking Boot Nirvana - These are the best hiking boots or for that matter, the best pair of shoes I have ever owned. I want to buy another pair just in case they quit making this style or if I loose them. Bottom line, these are the most comfortable, lightest, best looking hiking boots on this earth. Buy a pair today; you'll be very glad you did.

Good shoes for Alaska and home. I bought these shoes for our trip to Alaska. Only wore them a couple of days before we left and they felt a little snug but were not uncomfortable. I wore them all day everyday for a week as I walked streets and trails and I was impressed. I felt secure and comfortable in everything I did. The shoes look good and have good traction. Except for being just a little tight in the toe area, I can't find anything to complain about. I'm glad I bought them and I would do it again.

Great Boot. Bought it in a wide width for my 19-year-old son and it was by far the most comfortable boot he tried, with absolutely no heel slippage. Really appreciated Zappos service and return policy, since finding this boot took quite a bit of trial and error.

Great boot. Love it very comfortable and light would buy again but won’t have to for a while very durable thanks Zappos.

Hi Tec Altitude IV- Bought it for my boyfriend who works on an oil rig. He loves them because there are so light compared to other shoes he has been using. He works in the subtropics and likes that the shoes are staining cooler than others.

I love them - I actually purchased a pair of these shoes for myself locally a few weeks ago. My husband is a contractor/cowboy and has always worn a more western style work boot, but after he saw mine he mentioned that he should try a pair like mine next time he needed shoes. So for Christmas I ordered a pair for my husband and a pair for my cousin who loves to hike. They both are very, very happy. I think my husband was surprised that they were as comfortable as they are. He has a hip replacement and I think he's complaining less about pain then he did before.

Best Boots EVER! I bought these for my 20-year-old son who was starting a job landscaping. He loves these boots and can't say enough about them. Moving mulch and dirt, up and down hills; all day hard working kind of boots, these are the ones. Zappos Rocks!!!

Living in Korea and hike some pretty steep, rocky trails. Boots work great except on wet rock - can get a little slippery. Other than that I would buy again.

Hi-Tec - Good solid boot for the price--nice looking, comfortable, true to fit--good basic boot

I needed a good all around shoe, wore it right out of the box, fits like a sneaker. Limited choices for me because of wide feet. Looks decent enough to wear with khakis. For light duty work/hiking you should try these. With free shipping that was upgraded to 2 day air, I'm definitely a return customer.

Did a ton of online research to find these, but was disappointed with this purchase, especially given all the great reviews. Fit too short at toe, too wide at midfoot. Generally felt unsure on foot. Black looked pretty good on website, but not nice-looking in person. Returning this item.

These shoes are huge and didn't provide the kind of arch support I need, though my feet are extremely flat.

I used these for work as a UPS driver. Did not last 3 months, before the tread was completely gone.

I didn't get farther than my living room - the edge of the tongue fell right across my inner ankle bone. That hurts, and I know from experience that you can't train the tongue to stay where you want; it goes where it wants.

Hiking boots - The arch was too high so I need some inserts. Otherwise they are very comfortable. No breaking in was necessary. I tried 6 pair of boots before finding these. I have a hard time finding boots to fit. The only thing wrong was that the arch was way too high. But without the insole I found another insole that worked well.

I bought these for my husband. He was complaining the old ones wee wore out. He was ecstatic! They fit perfectly.

They run a half size smaller, but returned them & got a half size larger perfect fit.

This is my 3rd pair of these boots so I can't recommend them highly enough. I have an unstable knee and these boots support my ankle which supports my knee. Actually a few years back I was walking 5 miles a day, wearing these boots, I lost 80 pounds! I was watching my calories too of course. Please Hi-Tec don't stop making these boots!
