My 4th pair of Birkenstocks in 20 years. These are replacements for a pair of Boston's that I abused for 10 years. I wanted something more formal that I could get away with in the office and these fit the bill perfectly. I have narrow feet and the narrow size fits perfectly. The corks soles feel great and only get better with time. With the re-soling program I have these for another 20 years.

My husband loves these. He wears 12.5 and the size 45 N fits him well. They are lightweight, sleek, and pass for business-casual wear. Great for people working at standing desks.

These look ok, still kind of frankensteinish, but can be worn to work. Without looking sloppy. These shoes are hard and the toe lines aren't the same imprint as my actual toes. I do not recommend.

Fun, comfy, dependable. If I need to be on my feet for the day, this is one of my go-to pairs. 4 stars for style because, like most Birkenstocks, they look a little clunky.

I started having foot problems after standing on my feet for my job for the past 30 years and after wearing these, foot pain gone! Love them. They are my favorite shoes even though they may not be the most pretty shoes my face is prettier after wearing them all day because it has a big smile on it! After standing all day on the job, instead of wanting to sit down and rest my feet after work I feel like I don't have to, I can do other things it's like I have a new lease on life; wish I would have got them sooner. I will buy another pair of these they are that good, recommend very highly.

I have tried gel inserts and they did not help with the pain in my arches. I saw a foot doctor and he recommended cortisone shots, orthotics, sound wave treatment, and laser treatments. The shots I heard had side effects, so that was not an option and the others were very expensive ranging from a couple hundred to over a thousand. A friend recommended Birkenstocks. These did the trick on Day 1 and I have been wearing these for over a month and love them.

Earlier this year I bought my first pair of Birkenstock sandals and fell in love with them immediately. I wore them almost every day in the summer and as the colder weather started to approach I knew I would have to figure out a way to wear Birkenstocks year round. Obviously, the socks and sandals look is not an option (this particular sartorial choice is only acceptable for eccentrics and German hikers). I was aware of the clog design but that's a style I just couldn't bring myself to embrace (they can be attractive on ladies, but on guys, not so much). Luckily, I discovered Birkenstock makes a shoe with a fully covered heel. Just what I was looking for! I ordered them despite the fact that the London's initially seem to be a rather ridiculous looking shoe -- indeed, my wife snickered a bit when I first put them on -- but they actually appear quite stylish when worn with long pants or jeans. The comfort level of the footbed is equal to that of my sandals and I found the manufacturing of the upper portion to be excellent. After my second pair of Birkenstocks in less than a year, I'm happy to consider myself a loyalist to the brand and look forward to purchasing many more in my lifetime.

This is my third pair of Birks and I love them, though not as much as the Basel. They seem a little pricey but so far I'm happy with them. I wear a 37 in all Birks and haven't experienced any rubbing or foot sweating problems as other reviewers have described. They appear to be more sturdy than the other Birks I own. The Keen Jasper is still my favorite ever.

I own a size 43M in the Milan. The Milan's fit perfect with my toes coming nearly to the end, so I didn't know if I should get a 44 in the Londons. I called Birkenstock and they said whatever you get in the Milan, you should get with the London. So I ordered the 43 and my toes pushed in the end of the shoe, and then had to order the 44, which felt just right. So either the Londons are slightly smaller or they don't have enough room in the toe to wear exactly the same size as the Milan, and Birkenstock (in California), was incorrect. Having some toe room, obviously, is great with socks, as I plan on wearing these in the colder months. So like someone has stated, go up a size from your current open-toed sandals. The buckle on the Londons give the shoe a perfect fit with no movement whatsoever with your feet in the shoe. Highly recommended. And thanks to Zappos for letting me order a few before I figured this thing out. Lightning fast shipping.

It's not the best of the Birkenstock designs. Difficult to slip on and off without unbuckling. And I agree with some others, seem a bit wide. Not all that attractive, toe is more geometric than it appears in my view. If you like the Birkenstock sole then OK. But otherwise, I'd look at other models.

I could not find Birkenstock shoes anywhere --- only sandals and sometimes an open shoe just is not appropriate. Thank you Zappos! Although not the sexiest shoe I've ever worn, definitely one of the most comfortable. The same amazing support and function of the more often seen sandals, but with the coverage one needs in colder weather or to meet dress code requirements. Want them in brown and would love more colors from which to choose.

Great shoes! I have some pain in my feet so I wanted to try some Birkenstocks which I haven't owned since I was a teen. I remembered them being comfortable and they are. Even with the full leather upper they are also lightweight. They even come in narrow sizes which I recently discovered is a better fit. I'm very happy with the purchase. Birkenstocks do break in quickly so buy them fairly snug.

I work as a nurse. I ordered these in hopes of more support than my Crocs were offering. Boy, did I get it! It took almost a full week to break them in, but I was aware of this about Birkenstocks, so I was patient. The only problem I've had with these is that they do stretch. I wear a 10, so I think they are 41's. Next time I get them (I've had them for 2 years and they're still going strong!) I'll order a size smaller. Great shoes! Oh, they're also not so cute, but the comfort is worth it!

Another great pair of Birkenstocks! The leather is simple and is breaking in nicely. They are destined to be very comfortable!

I love my Birkenstock clogs, but I wanted a winter shoe -- and London fits the bill. I bought the solid leather version and it's a very nice, warm brown color that is looking even nicer with wear. I don't know about the sizes listed: I wear 9s in most shoes, measured at a Birkenstock store as a 38, and bought a 39 (it was close, but looser felt better to me). I wear these all day at my job in a school library, and they (and I) still feel fantastic by the end of the day! I find that their somewhat plain looks go very well with either casual or slightly dressy clothes, and I even wear them with skirts. Great shoe!

First off, I'm a fan of Birkenstock shoes. But the thickness of the leather on this particular shoe is thinner than I would have expected with no interior lining. The sole with no attached heel is thinner than the my other Birkenstock shoes. It is more like an enclosed sandal.

Just got these shoes in the mail and I already love them! I have plantar fascia so I need the high arches. The original Birkenstock footbed is perfect for easing the pain. True to most Birk sizing, these are fairly big. I usually wear a size 10 in woman's, but with these I ordered a 40 (which they say corresponds to a 9-9.5). Plus, I have a wider foot and the Regular is plenty roomy. I like that these look like the classic Birk clog they will be more functional as it gets colder. These appear to be sleeker than ones I've gotten in the past, which traditionally do look a bit clunky. Zappos was amazing as always. I ordered these around 9:30 pm EST and they arrived the next day. Crazy good!

These shoes are comfortable all day while I am on my feet. They also accommodate my wide feet with bunions.

The foot bed felt like the right size, but the upper is too big. I have lots of Birkies and this is the first one I have ever had a fitting problem with.

These are not pretty shoes. Even the narrow is wide. But my feet never ever hurt after wearing them no matter how much walking I do. I wear them to work with dress pants wide legged enough to cover them up for the most part. They aren't my style, but for the comfort I'm willing to compromise. I bought a second pair so I'd have back up.

I have tried to break in these shoes.They are very stiff. A well made shoe.but hard to get used to. Getting the correct size is another problem. I wish I had the strong feeling about the shoe and its comfort as others have reviewed.

Very comfy to walk. Good shoes. Wish Zappos is selling more colours besides black and brown.
