I really wanted to love these. They are so cute. But I found them to be very uncomfortable. I have a narrow and sensitive foot and these shoes have a touch sole, not very comfy and flexible. The may also have too much support that didn't position correctly where my arch and especially my toes are.

Holy cow, these shoes are awesome! I got the oiled leather and I ordered narrow because I'm little. They are soft and wearable out of the box! I love that they are all leather. They smell so good. Mmmmm...leather. They are definitely not fitted to your foot but I like a looser fit and the narrow option was definitely a good choice. The closed back makes them much more versatile too. That way I can comfortably wear them without socks or with a fairly thick sock. They are so damn comfortable I don't want to take them off...ever. Sniff sniff for my other shoes. These guys may have trumped them all.

Tried these shoes in a narrow as I am a size 13 narrow foot. They are the most comfortable shoe I own. No break-in at all. Comfortable from the start!

I love Birkenstock, the originals. I like the Boston style best for its strong arch support. I have a chronic foot condition (Plantar Fasciitis), and my Birks really help with that problem. I do not like the spin-off's like New Walk, Tatami, Papillo, soft-footbed or the ones made for QVC. For me, the best Birkenstocks are the originals.

These run really large. They are also pretty stiff. But they are very well made and will probably last for years. I also ordered similar shoes by Joseph Seibel, exactly the same European size, and they are on the small side. So beware.

I've had these shoes about 6 weeks now. At first they were a little tight (I have EEwidth feet). The buckle was a bit of a pain as well. I was looking for something I could wear like my husband wears his Romeos. I love the Birkenstock foot bed. I was hoping, since they are leather, they would stretch out. It took a few weeks but they did stretch out! Yay! I live in a rainy climate so the covered cork is very important. I grease these shoes up with Huberd's shoe grease and watch the rain bead up and roll off! Since these are my romeos I put the buckles on the loosest holes and slip them on and off. They stay on my foot just fine. These shoes are so comfortable and I like the smooth, casual look. I love the oiled brown. With the shoes grease on them they look like an espresso brown. I wear them every day. I normally wear an 8 -8 1/2 which Birkenstock says I would wear a 39 but the 39 arch support is too long for my foot. With the 38 one of my toes touched the tip of the shoe while walking at first. I waded up some tissue and stuck it at the tip of the shoe to push it out a bit for a couple weeks. I never feel the end of my shoes now. The 39 foot bed would never have fit.

If you love Birkenstocks, you will love these! An amazing clog. Once broken in and molded to your foot you will love these! I wear them to work and stand for over 8 hours/shift. I have a wide foot and these are still amazing, no pain after standing and moving around all day! Plus the leather is soft on your feet/heel so they don't rub weirdly!

I love my Birkenstocks but wanted something a little dressier than the Boston clogs. They used to make another style like the Boston which had a molder seam on the top and a dressier design on the side which made them look a little less clunky but that style has been long discontinued. I had tried Paris but the strap was too short. I was also concerned that the length of cut-out (twice as long as the London) would gap when I walked. There was not way to test this as I owuld have to cut a holes in the strap to get them fastened. The London had a much longer and wider strap, didn't gap at the cutout AND seemed to fit a little better than the Paris. As perfect as a clunky shoe can been. But then I will take comfort over style any day of the week except at weddings. PS: Once you've worn comfortable shoes that make your forget you have shoes on, it's very difficult to wear anything else.

The most comfortable pair of flat shoes I own! These appear to be a unisex shoe style, and so run a full size large (if referencing the Birkenstock sizing guide). I wear a size 6.5 and a 36 European. Ordered these in a 37, as recommended. I have wider feet with high arches, and these were huge. Perhaps the sizing is more accurate for a male. In addition, the shoe may feel awkward upon the first wear, but have proven to be so comfortable. I bought these just before a two week trip to Peru. Worked out so great! No need to wear socks, no sweaty feet, and after a full day of walking, my feet were not tired! In additin, they look great! Great, great investment.

I have had several pairs of Birkestocks before. Typically clogs without the backs. These shoes solve the problem of them slipping off at that inopportune moment or having water slip in the back, making my socks wet. I love the two tone color of the soft woolly front with the wonderful leather. They are very very comfortable. I love the fact that my feet don't feel pinched and feel so comfortable walking around NYC or driving my car in these. I highly recognize these. Keep in mind because they are slightly wider than a normal shoe that you can buy them at exactly the right length that you need and your entire foot will fit.

First I love the fact they are made in Germany and NOT China! I have narrow feet that hurt in almost every shoe but these fit me great and take away all the pain. I usually buy 8.5-9 narrow shoes and went with the 39 narrow in these and they fit great. I love Zappo's service and how quickly they get the shoes to your door. I ordered yesterday afternoon and they were at my door by 1pm the next day.

Like the sandals, the Londons have the classic footbed and are basically the sandal with a closed toe and back. Birkenstocks are unique in that they are designed to fit the foot completely. So if you're used to that thumbs length at the end of the shoe, the London will not necessarily apply to that. Don't get this shoe based on where your toes are, base it on how it fits your foot. For example, whatever size you wear in a Milano, you'll wear the same in a London. I made the mistake of going too large and couldn't get a proper foot fit until I went down a size (which is what I wear in a Milano). Bottom line, if you get it to fit your foot, you've got the correct shoe. I have a narrow foot, so I got the narrow choice and it's perfect. The shoe is wonderful, but don't go too large. For all my other non Birk shoes, I usually give some extra room in the toe, which doesn't apply to this shoe. With a proper foot fit, you're feet won't hit the edge.

I suffer from Plantar Fasciitis and needed a shoe with good arch and heel support, these shoes fit the bill! I have tried a number of products and shoes and nothing has helped until I ordered these. I would recommend these if you suffer any type of foot or heel pain. They are comfortable and nice looking too!

I'm a nurse and bought these shoes for work. I actually tried them on at a retailer here where I live to get my true size before purchasing online. Glad I did because these shoes run a little wide so I needed a narrow. I've treated them with an appropriate protector spray and have been able to wipe small spills off of them. I was worried I might not be able to with that particular leather. Like any Birkenstock, the cork insole is hard at first. I can't wait til they are broken in and molded to my feet.

So this is not a pretty pair of shoes but it helped my tendonitis and I wear it almost every day. I normally wear a size 6 and ended up with the size 5. It still seems a little large but I can wear two pair of socks which helps my foot even more.

I bought these for lab, I have to wear closed heel shoes. It took a few days wearing them a couple of hours a day before they broke in. Do not wear without socks for the first few days and do not wear them a full day at once. The soles felt like they were concave and ill fitting, not like burk sandals I'm used too...but after a few wearings at a couple hours at a time, they are definitely a go to shoe. If you have feet issues, I highly recommend the Birkenstock line because it will force your foot to work in a good way...however, if you are used to 3 inches of rubber soles, you will need to tread lightly until the foot bed is broken in and your foot has started to work again. A big rubber soft bed will actually make you heel strike and plant your foot down harder, while binding your foot up so it can't expand and flex creating all sorts of sole, heel, ankle, knee and hip lower back and even shoulder and neck problems. I personally got a lot of body work a few years ago to get back into alignment, and switched to Birkenstocks and have never looked back to my constant use of tennis shoes which I think destroyed my body.

This is a classic. I had several pair of the London before. The only weak point of this (and many other Birkenstocks) is the sole. The sole wears out before the rest of the shoes. I assume this is a built-in depreciation mechanism (and not a coincident). If you have the heel reinforced, they last much longer.

Uppers were really scuffed up looking although that may be problematic with the "Iron" finish only. Fasteners too tighten up the shoes are crazy difficult to use. Was really looking forward to these but very disappointed...I mean how can a major shoe company screw up a simple hole'n'pole fastener? Well, Birkie sure did.

Excellent shoe. It does seem to run both long and wide so keep that in mind when choosing your size.

These aren't as comfortable as my other Birks. I've only tried to wear them once and the leather back rubs. The next time I wear them I plan to wear longer socks to prevent the rubbing. Hopefully, after a few times of wearing them the leather will soften and they will stop rubbing.

Not very attractive unless you like the traditional Birkenstock clog look. I found that a smaller size in these fit me best. Normally I wear a size 7 to 7 1/2 wide shoe. The classic Birkenstock 38 is just too long. The 37 is close to being too short but doable. The wide width of the classic regular Birkenstock insole is great for me. I would benefit from an even higher arch than this one but it's better than what one can get in most shoes.

I recently ordered these because I have bunions that have been bothering me. It's really amazing how incredible these shoes are. I have always worn birks sandals in the past but haven't for a few years. Coming back to them it was just how clear the quality is. They are so supportive!!! And so much room in the toe bed. I read other reviews about the back rubbing, so I've been wearing socks and have had no problems. Wonderful supportive comfortable high quality as usual from Birkentstock.

I have always been a fan of Birkenstocks for work (I am a nurse), and these are no exception. They are incredibly comfortable, super light, and the color is nice and neutral. I have never had a Birkenstock with a back; turns out, it is really nice to not occasionally step out of my shoes! I love them!
