Amazing, comfortable and stylish! And definitely worth the price. I will be purchasing another pair later this year. And the shipping with Zappos was remarkably quick. Kudos to you Zappos!

I bought my Birkenstocks in 1988 while stationed in Germany and call them my "Career Shoes." In 26 years I have only replaced the soles twice, once in 1996 and again just last month, where I also had to have a piece of leather placed in the foot-bed since the shapes of the bottom of my feet have worn clear through the cork. They continue to be unbelievably comfortable. Perhaps that's why I love them so. I am in the medical profession (anesthesia) and have put long hours in while wearing these shoes. Not once have my feet hurt. That speaks to the comfort, quality and support of Birkenstock shoes. All but four years have been spent in this one pair of shoes and I'm confident they will last until I retire. Buy these and you'll be delighted!

As a chef on my feet 50-60 hours a week, I'm pleased to say I've finally found the ultimate kitchen shoe. They're very comfortable, in usual Birkenstock fashion, and I find my feet stay drier in these than the rubbery Birki style. And they're way less narrow and constricting than Danskos. The only downside would be the air vents on the top of the foot...these could be sketchy should hot liquid be splashed on your feet...but they're so comfortable, I'm willing to take that chance. Just bought my second pair, but not my last, not by a long shot.

Another pair of wonderful shoes! As a person with myriad foot issues these are the only shoes that I find comfortable. They wear like cast iron and if the soles wear out, it's very inexpensive to get them replaced by Birkenstock. These shoes are from cheap, but are well worth the price as the last longer than any other show I've ever worn.

This shoe fit great and was wide enough; however, I couldn't get past the hardness of the sole and can't imagine putting myself through the pain to make it comfortable. I stand on my feet for 8 hours a day and know my legs and feet would be killing me in this shoe.

Sturdy and good looking, these just saved my life. 2 months ago, I broke my foot along the length of 2 metatarsal bones. I drive a manual Jeep and so could not wear the Dr.s "Boot". The stiff sole with arch support kept my bones aligned and are helping me heal and drive (limited). The only shoe break in for me was the heel. The enclosed heel of the shoe slanted + pushed my foot fwd onto the front rim, or it rubbed my heel. After about 2 weeks, it all is fine. This is my 3rd pair of Birks.

I have had owned Birkenstock sandals for over 20 years. I could not be happier with the fit and finish of my new London clogs. The quality and workmanship of this brand has not diminished at all over the years.

So very comfortable right out of the box. Foot support might be better than sandals. Slightly disappointed that the oiled black is a "rough" surface and does not take a shine. Consider a size up from your usual Birkie size if you have long toes.

Well made and constructed. Runs small in the length; toes touch. Sloppy feel but that's part of the deal with Berks. Get ready for heel slip, similar to clog shoes.

I purchased these shoes and have found them to be extremely comfortable. I have extremely high arches along with other foot issues. I wear them all day with no problem. My only issue with these shoes is that they "eat my socks." I definitely can not wear short socks with these shoes. I purchased another pair at the same time with the back open and I do not have a problem with these. Overall, I love Birkenstock shoes and would highly recommend them.

Didn't work for me. I tried desperately to love these, but they hurt my feet. The arch support was not comfortable and my arch was too high for the top of the shoe. It rubbed like the dickens! I read the reviews and have determined that for most people with normal arches these are probably great, but for those of us with high arches, beware. I wear a women's size 10 and initially brought the 41 narrow, which was too small. I thought that this was the problem and so I exchanged them for the 42 narrow and the problem was worst. Sorry, but these are not for me.

I like Birkenstock, but I am learning the unisex styles are a bit wider than the ones made for women, so ladies be aware! Even in a narrow, these were just too wide -- even with socks! Otherwise they are comfy and a great color. I normally wear a 10-10.5B and order a 41N in sandals and 42N for the closed-toed Birkies. I will stick to the ladies styles now!

I felt like it's hard to get the right size in these. One was just a tad too small and I was rubbing my toe against the front. The other just a bit too big and my foot floated around. Decided to keep the bigger ones. They're extremely comfortable if you have to stand around. I wouldn't do tons of walking in them as they're a little less comfortable to walk in than the sandles. As for looks, meh. Definitely not one of the better looking shoes out there but I didn't buy them for their looks.

I love these shoes. They were comfortable as soon as I put them on, but as the cork starts to conform to my foot they become better and better. I had the same style years ago and they, too, were well-made, long-lasting shoes. I highly recommend. I have a narrower heel with a wide foot and these fit great. I think they're pretty darn cute, too.

I always wear Birkenstock clogs and sandals. I always wanted a pair of the Birkenstock shoes, but I live in a small town and never could try them on in a regular shoe store. For Christmas I asked for a pair since I live in Wi. I needed a pair of shoes and not clogs. We found these at Zappos, ordered them and they came quickly. I love them; they feel wonderful. Since I have a lot of foot problems the Dr. said Birkenstocks were the best option. There is plenty of room in the toe box and amazing support in the shoe. Very happy with them.

Good for plantar fasciitis and morton's neuroma. I like these shoes - they do run wide, but all "regular" width Birkenstock are made this way. I really needed the extra width too and the arch support is pretty good - one of my feet has a very high arch and the other just has a high arch. These shoes don't aggravate my plantar fasciitis or morton's neuromas. Comfort-wise, they would be perfect if the inside was just a tiny bit softer. I really like them and will order another pair in a different color. I have the black ones and wear them to work with dress slacks long enough to cover the buckle - no one seems to have noticed. The heels do slip up and down a bit while walking so I wear knee high trouser socks with them. Regular cotton socks kept slipping down into the shoe but the knee highs stay put perfectly.

I have not worn Birkenstock for years and wasn't sure of the size but good glory, with the Zappos method of returns and exchanges it was no big deal that I had to return the first pair. The shoes are exactly what I needed with my high arch. My foot pain has stopped now that I have Birks again. I have never had such an enclosed shoe from them before and the leather is VERY stiff when you first get them, but they are getting more comfy all the time as they weather to my foot and the leather softens up some. I know they will last a good long while.

I've currently got three pair of Birkies and needed one for daily use in wet weather. Love the simple elegant style, and the overall comfort is great, but the heel is very loose so shoe will rub my heel raw in short time. Am returning.

Very comfortable shoe, the arch support works just as well as my orthotics. Great shoe for winter when you have to put away your Birkenstock sandals.

I love these shoes! That is, after I trimmed the back down to the same level as the side dip, and trimmed the collar down to just above the cross strap. As they were, I could not get them on an off without using the very unforgiving buckle which causes you to stand on your head to remove or put on. Now they are perfect. I normally wear a 38 but ordered 39 as they are narrow which I did not know was available, and I wear with sox. Would be 5 stars if I had not had to alter.

These shoes are great! Just what I expected from Birkenstock. Good arch and I can walk for miles. The shoes get better the more I wear them. These are my 5th pair from the Birkenstock line of shoes.

Nice! I still own a pair of size 43 Birkenstock sandals I bought 20 years ago. I recently bought the same size in the Londons. Perfect fit. So, if you need a Birkenstock that acts like a shoe, this is a great choice. They take a couple days to break in, after which they feel great. I can easily run in these shoes.

If Birks work for you and you can get the proper fit, I'm sure these would be great. Maybe the size I ordered was too big? They were the same size (40) as my Amsterdams that fit well. My instep/arch is on the high side, and my heel is narrow in comparison to the front of my foot. I'm unsure and the top of the shoe at the instep seemed to come too far up my foot (is this the vamp? if so, the vamp was too high) and so was poking into my foot near the flexion point, and the heel seemed to slip too much plus the top of the heel was poking into my achilles. The strap is a bit difficult to adjust and it seems to have one or two holes where it prefers to live. They look great for a pair of Birks, though! To have the uniform color all around the heel (vs the cork) looks sleek and less like a casual comfort shoe.
