Somehow comes out on top - They're hideous, take a while to break in, and need to be regularly aired out or they stink (particularly without socks), but are hands down the most supportive and comfortable shoes I have ever owned.

Love my London’s - I have been a Birkenstock fan for a lot of years and find them and Dansko the only shoes that do not have a break-in period. I love these shoes! They are really comfortable; I stand all day on my job. I am a size 6 and find that 37 narrow are the best fit for me. Total comfort! Zappos has given me the best customer service! They bend over backward to keep their customers happy!!!

Birkenstock London - I owned a pair of Boston Clogs in suede and loved them. When they wore out I decided to go with the London. Big mistake! I have had this shoe for about a year now. Granted I don't wear them too often but the leather still doesn't 'look' broken in. In the beginning they were INCREDIBLY hot and sweaty! With socks they made my feet smell bad (this isn't usually a problem for me either)! If I didn't wear socks it was the same thing and my feet still got sweaty. In my opinion, it was my $ down the commode. Don't spend your money on these. I recommend the Boston's!

Pain Reliever - I have had problems with my feet lately and the only shoes that helped were a pair of 3 year old Birkenstock sandals. The London's were recommended to me by a friend with a similar problem. They have been the perfect solution!!!

Keeping with quality - The Birkenstock London shoe keeps with the quality that Birkenstock has demonstrated since I can remember, from my first pair 30 years ago. The London has a great look with my jeans, and the comfort of a lightweight but substantial-enough shoe, instead of a Birkenstock sandal. Plus, this is a perfect pair for the fall!

Birkenstock London - I've had a pair of these for 2 years and consider these to be the best shoes I've ever owned. Fit is perfect. Leather takes a few days to break, but I have no complaints at all

Stylish comfort - I thought I was the last guy you'd find in a Birkenstock, but I now own 2 pair - the London and a sandal. Flat, wide and flexible is the order of the day for healthy feet, and these meet the bill. Along with that, the London is a very stylish shoe. Stylish enough for the city with your dress pants or the weekend with jeans. Put away those silly notions about "weird hippie boots" and go buy a pair! Your feet will love you for it.

I love my Birkenstock London’s! A former Birkenstock junkie, these are the only pair I can not think of parting with... they are perfect in every way! The worn leather only adds to their charm! Buy them!!! Wear them!!! Love them!!!

London runs wide! This is a cool looking Birk! Very urban and minimalist! This was much wider on me than my other styles in this brand.

Comfortable but not too beautiful - These are great all-around everyday shoes. I bought the smooth black leather version, and they are great because I wear them with slacks to work or with jeans in my leisure time. I have many Birkenstock shoes, and they are all incredibly comfortable. Love the footbed, and the adjustable buckle helps keep them on tighter as they get older and looser.

Nubuck Needs Care - I have these in Cacao Nubuck regular width and have been wearing them for about a month now. They did need 3-4 days to "break in" and then felt more comfortable as I walked in them. However, they are not good for standing in because standing for only about a half hour could cause discomfort in the heel area. Regular width in this style are too loose when socks are not worn, so I suggest that if you are buying regular but don't plan to wear socks with them for better air circulation/coolness, then get narrow instead. The buckle straps are pretty easy for on and off once you get used to them. I also suggest getting the smooth leather instead of nubuck like mine, because nubuck seems to need a lot of care and are also less durable. I bought this spray which claims to guard nubuck leather from rain, snow and even salt, but even after spraying 2 coats, I still find water being able to seep into the leather. Although I can't say that Nubuck accounts for this because it might be the quality of the spray itself. But it's true that Nubuck doesn't take even the lightest scratches very well perhaps because the texture is very fine and there is no protective layer like the smooth leather, causing any finger marks, shoe prints, dust, etc. to easily get onto the surface. But if you are careful with nubuck, stains like those could be taken off spotlessly with a wipe of a damp cloth at the end of the day. The only thing I like about nubuck however, is that the material is extremely fast-drying. You could even just stand there and watch them gradually dry which allows you to wear them again soon afterwards. I plan to test them out some more in the snow this coming winter.

Not the same as old Birks - I had to get these to replace my old shoes which are not made any longer, they are not easy to break in and are hot and sweaty. My old Birks were the mary jane style very similar to these and they never had to go through a break in period. I still wear the old one more than these new shoes.
