My first Hike, up Bear Mountain, which was an endurance test for my martial arts testing, thanks to many reviews, I picked this bear! I ordered full size up, and also tried half size, full size was better...full day of hiking, right out of box, no issues, it was the biggest challenge ever! These Boots, made my day! I truly could never have made it without them! They kept my fit from turning, slipping, and had excellent traction and support! Love that they are waterproof too! I doubt, I will be hiking again, anytime soon, but, these kicks, will be my wet day boots. Love them but, do size up!

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love these hiking boots! I have wide feet and the bottoms of my feet get sore really easily if I wear bad shoes. I also have problems with plantar fasciitis if I wear the wrong kinds of shoes. I did not initially consider these boots because I usually wear a wide. But I am so glad that I tried these. The fit is awesome. They are so comfortable and there is plenty of room for toes. There is a bit of room behind my heel so my feet do not rub at all. The ankle support provides a lot of stability and keep my feet from sliding when walking down steep hills. The insides are not super soft like a running shoe - they are much more structured which is exactly what I need. In the week that I got these, I did several short hikes and then an eight mile hike. My feet were tired but not sore or hurting. My toes were not smashed or rubbed. The traction was awesome going over rocky terrain. I highly recommend these even if you usually take a wide. Try them. I purchased these after returning the Vasque Breeze low in size 10 wide. The Keen's were actually wider and a much better fit.

Great boots and excellent value! Ordered the Keen and another (twice as expensive) brand for hiking in West Virginia New River Gorge area. The Keen fit well and handled the rocky terrain with aplomb. My dogs and I completed an 8-mile run/hike with no issues. Definitely recommend these boots!

I have worn these boots for many many years. I really love them. I wear them every day in the fall and winter. I recently ordered a new pair of them because I had worn the outside of the bottoms off so bad, because of the way I walk on the outsides of my feet. For some reason I was not able to wear the new pair without the left shoe rubbing a blister on my big toe right where the seams come together. I sent them back and tried a new pair, but they had the same problem. I tried getting a pair another half size bigger, and they don't rub a blister, but they are so big that my foot slides around in them, and that's uncomfortable. Obviously, something changed in the way they are made, because I never had any problem with the first pair that I bought 5 or 6 years ago. I just ordered the Keen Gypsum Boot to try it out and see if I can wear it. I hope it works out, I really like the Keen shoes. I should get them in a couple of days, and I have my fingers crossed that they won't give me a blister. If they do, I will have to look for a different kind of shoe.

I bought these in two colors. Red and blue. These are the BEST hiking boots I have ever owned. I wear them when hiking and when walking my dog. No other boots make my feet feel this good. The sturdy rubber sole absorbs the shocks while walking. I wear them every day. They are perfect. If I wear regular shoes, I can feel the difference in the soles. I am a true size 8 and bought size 8. These are true to size. They don't run smaller or bigger. They are waterproof too. Haven't worn them in the Winter, but I will see how it is.

This shoe is worth every penny! Love the quality and fit. I have worn twice already and did a lot of walking both times - no rubbing, blisters, or anything. True to size. Would purchase again.

These boots fit wonderfully and have not required any break in time. I usually wear an 8 or 8.5, but the 9 in these give my toes plenty of room for hiking.

These seem like excellent boots. I ordered a half size up because I intend to wear extra thick socks. Unfortunately, these boots were too snug in the toe box with my normal thin socks. Perhaps just not a good shape for me. Darn! I really like these boots.

I just got these and I am in love already. I ordered half a size larger based on reviews and that was a perfect fit. I have worn them on a hike in the rain and my feet were dry dry and comfortable!

My feet seem to like Keen's of any type. This boot is the boot to end all boots. We walked 32 miles in 2 days. I barely broke these in prior to the hike. Not one blister. Not one hot spot. My feet were sore, but that's because we hiked a long time. I'm not bragging. I am afraid of heights and was sobbing intermittently. I don't know if this helps but I'm 5'9 and normal size, as opposed to abnormal (whatever that may be) and wear a regular size 10 shoe. This hike was moderate to severe (I think the correct term is difficult). Did not fall crossing slippery wooden bridges - these have a pretty good traction.

Great hiking boots! I did order a half size larger and they fit well. I am wearing them on short walks to break them in even though they don't feel like they need to be broken in. They are comfy and very supportive. I have a wide foot and these accommodate that, so not sure how they would be for a very narrow foot. Time will tell more, but one week in and I am very satisfied!

These were comfortable right out of the box. I did follow reviews and ordered half size up to 10 but returned them to get a 9½. That was perfect. I plan to use them snowshoeing and hiking when we return to Oregon. I have had both knees replaced so finding shoes that do not irritate the knee with good arch support has been a challenge. Thanks you, Zappos, for making returns so easy.

These are great comfortable hikers! I reordered these in the same size and color, because the toe construction was not symmetrical. The visual just bugged me. I swear Zappos sent me the exact same pair again. I will try one more time.

My feet aren't easy to fit, but I've found Keen hikers to be about the most comfortable shoes I can buy. I use innersoles bought separately in all my shoes because of foot operations. I found this shoe true to size and comfortable from the time I put it on and have now hiked 10 miles in the new shoes in great comfort. Thanks, Zappos!

I love the style and design of this boot, but unlike others, I did not find that I needed a 1/2 size bigger. I typically wear a size 9. Upon reading some other reviews I ordered a 9-1/2, but found this to be too large. I like the boot, but I will be returning it for a size 9.

Super comfortable - didn't even need to break them in! I ordered a half size larger than my usual size and they felt great in the length, even going downhill - no toe blisters at all. However, I have a narrow foot so I had to pull the laces as tightly as they would go and still moved around in the boot a bit. I'm not sure if mine were just a different batch of leather, but the color is MUCH darker than pictured here - almost a chocolate brown rather than a dark tan. Would still highly recommend these for the price!

I just completed my first hike in these boots and am very pleased with the fit and traction. I wear a 5-1/2 or a 6. I ordered a 6 in this boot and it fits perfectly. I have a small bunion on my right foot and the wide toe box accommodates it well. I love the styling of this boot. It is fairly lightweight and was comfortable in 90+ degree heat. I was also amazed that I didn't have to double-knot my boot strings to keep them tied during the hike. Overall a great boot.

I bought these shoes for a hiking trip in Maine. We ended up hiking the second highest mountain in Acadia National Park. If I hadn't worn these shoes I may not have been able to complete the hike. They were great on smooth rocky surfaces and on wet pine needles. I read a review before I purchased these boots, I agree they are like 4 wheel drive on your feet. The solid toe construction was a good safety feature, however, at times I felt like my feet were longer than what I'm used to so I just had to be cautious when lifting my foot out of a tight space.

Never have I been able to put a pair of shoes on and been able to wiggle my toes. The toe box is so roomy! These hiking boots are amazing. I had to buy a half size larger than what I normally wear (glad I read other reviewers before I purchased these!). I did buy them in wide even though my feet are only slightly wider than average. They are incredibly comfortable. I can walk and hike for long periods of time. I highly recommend them.

Orthotic friendly shoes. Wife uses as a work shoe in greenhouses and on the farm (very hard use, get a couple years out of them).

Although I've not had the opportunity to use these for hiking yet, I have worn the boots to do yard work and test them out. They feel true to size; however, I always order up one full size to accommodate socks. I have an issue with a bunion on one foot, so that boot was painful, and I will have to work with a boot fitter to resolve it. But no problems with the other foot; very comfortable fit. These are a good weight boot, look good, and fit good. I'm sure anyone without a major bunion would be pleased with this purchase.

These hiking boots are ultra comfortable. There did not seem to be a breaking in period - I just slipped them on and they felt great! I did order my regular size and half a size larger and both sizes fit fine. The half size larger however felt like I had a little more room in the toes on the downhill. I highly recommend this brand!

I hate shoes that confine my feet in any way, particularly ones that come up high on the top of my foot. That said, we were going on a 3-week National Park trip to Utah, and my son insisted I needed good hiking boots for traction and ankle support (broke ankle 10 yrs ago). Went with good reviews and chose this one, ordering half size up as suggested. GREAT boots! No break-in period. Lightweight and attractive for hiking boots. No ankle swelling or sore feet at end of day. No slipping on slick rock. SO HAPPY I ordered these boots and some good hiking socks from Zappos! Worth every penny!
