Wonderful shoe, except... I can't wear them to work because they're so loud. The fit is better than any shoes I've ever bought and the construction seems very good but they squeak so loudly that they stop hallway conversations at the office and I can hear people laughing after I walk past. With all their other attention to detail I can't imagine Keen can't find a different lining material that would work as well and be silent. I ignored the reviews that mentioned the squeaking problem thinking, "How bad can it be?" It's worse than I could ever have imagined.

Squeaky - I love the look and comfort of these shoes but they are loud and squeaky. I tried adding insoles but there is no escaping the squeak.

These could be really comfortable shoes if the heels weren't so high forcing your toes into the front of the shoe when you walk. Also the plastic covered insoles are soft enough but your feet slide too much on the plastic cover. Overall they are more comfortable than most shoes, especially if you sit around a lot and don't do a lot of walking during the day. They look comfortable and I have had a lot of compliments from the ladies. Zappos does exceptional service, I ordered them one night and got them the next evening, Zappos' service is unbelievable, I just wish they made the shoes too, because they would be fantastic.

Good shoes - The only thing I can find wrong with the shoe is that it needs to come in wider sizes. I had to order a mens shoe to get the width, and it was still a bit too tight.

Comfort at a cost - This shoe is extremely comfortable but has a unique look to it. It is an ugly duckling as far as shoes go! It also makes a lot of noise so plan on picking up some leather conditioner for this one to help prevent the squeaky walk associated with the new leather.

Comfortable shoes - These are the second pair of Keen shoes I've purchased and they fit great. The shoes are comfortable and fit my prescription orthotics very well.

Awesome comfort and casual dress looks! Really like these so far, had them 2 days now, be forewarned the leather heel rubbing against the sock may make some "squeaking" noises at first (think rubbing a balloon), but once broken in they are quiet. Really comfortable insert, shoes are just as dark black as they appear, not a charcoal gray/black like the original Boston.

I love Keen shoes. However, these Keens run large and slip up & down on my heel. They would also cause problems if you have a manual transmission because there isn't enough room to put your foot on the clutch pedal and the brake at the same time. The shoes are extra wide. They are going back.

Bought this as a replacement for a four year old pair of original Bostons. The Boston II seems essentially similar but I am a bit put off by the color, which has a slight greenish cast to it, along with an odd chemical smell out of the box, which is slowly dissipating. The II also seems a little stiffer and has somewhat less cushion than the original Boston. Nevertheless it is good shoe overall.

They are lighter than they look. Keen makes a great shoe and sole. However, these do not breath and these are too wide for me.

Keen Review - The shoe doesn't breathe well as I noticed that my socks are moist enough to slip a bit in the shoe. The threading is breaking that keeps the upper tongue attached to the sides. They are a bit tight at the top of the foot.

Boston II - This shoe is very comfortable BUT the interior upper is made of vinyl which squeaks when you walk. Not good.

Going down hill - I have been wearing these shoes for work for about 3 years. It seems that every year the quality goes down a little...too bad.

Keen Boston II - not a stealth shoe - Not the prettiest shoe, but comfortable. Worst thing about the shoe - the insert with which it comes is rubber and can be heard from 25 yards away - had to switch inserts - very embarrassing - very loud squeaking.

Had two pairs of these shoes. I have toe pain and have to be very careful in finding a comfortable shoe. These were the "deal." Comfortable from the moment I put them on. However, at three months of wearing them three days a week, I noticed that the soles on both shoes were coming unglued from the uppers. If it hadn't been for the wrap-around toe, the sole would have totally come loose from the shoe. I took them back to the store where they were purchased and they gave me a new pair. I have now had the second pair six months, but only wear them on Saturdays and maybe Sundays. Guess what! The soles have separated again! I love the shoes but am astonished that Keen is having this manufacturing problem.

Comfort was average. I was expecting more after reading other reviews. The stitching began to fail after three months. I definitely expected higher quality from Keen.

This is the third pair of these shoes I have owned. This time, the soles wore out at an unacceptable rate. The others did not suffer from this problem.

I bought this shoe last year looking for something to wear with jeans, I thought it was a great looking shoe and it was moderately comfortable when I tried it on. After two weeks the shoe had two issues. First, extemely hot. There is zero ventilation in this shoe. Second, the shoe smelled REALLY bad like a chemical-almost like super strong urine (not smelly feet). Whether it is how Keen treats the leather or (as my dealer suspects because they confirmed the issue) the antimirobial treatment inside the shoe-major issue. People could smell my shoes while eating dinner-happened twice. So I had to exchange them. Really a shame because they are great looking.

Bring back the original - I loved my original Keen Bostons. They were my favorite all around shoe. After a couple years of heavy wear, I ordered a replacement pair. The sizing now is apparently larger and I needed to return them. That's OK, but... the Boston II is nubuck... yeck!!! The previous generation was a shiny leather that repelled all and could easily be touched up with polish. Wonderful for MN winters. Nubuck... forget that stuff!

I recently bought a pair of Keen sandals, and they were so comfortable that I turned around and bought two pairs of shoes. However, these shoes are not nearly as comfortable as the sandals, and they make a lot of noise, like a squeak. At the top of the ankle there is a rubberized material, and as my foot moves up and down through it, it makes an embarrassing sound. It is so loud that coworkers have begun to make jokes about my shoes, so I have quit wearing them. They are barely used.
