I returned these as they did not provide enough depth to accommodate a diabetics' swollen feet. I had hoped that they would be roomy so that they would work even at a time when edema is a problem, but I could not get them to close across the instep at all. Style was ok, but fit was not anything out of the ordinary wide shoe.

After spending several full days walking around London in these shoes, I would not recommend them for serious walking. Absolutely no arch support, and a complete lack of padding in the insole. I would not purchase these again.

Order at least one size larger. These run on the small side.

5E? Absolutely not! My old worn out shoes are 5E and if I measure the widest part of the soles on them, they are 4.875 inches wide. The new shoes soles are 4.3125 inches wide. A difference of 0.5625 inches! That is a little bit more than a half inch difference! That is major huge when it comes to fitting feet! No break-in time will fix that! I paid extra for shipping so I could get them in time for an upcoming event and now I am out of that extra money because these shoes are not what they are claimed to be! Now I have got to waste time and money getting something else. Shoes are correct in size as far as being size 9 but are severely narrow when it comes to width!

Warning: the wides are no longer as wide as they used to be. Once I discovered men's 11 3E Lifewalkers, I was thrilled and bought a bunch of pairs in the same size. I just bought a new pair and had to send them back -- their 3E now feels tighter than normal width shoes. I compare them to my worn out Lifewalkers bought a year ago in the same style and size and they are not the same size at all. Zappos even kindly sent me a second pair to see if they were mislabeled, but the problem is the same. They took a great comfortable walking shoe and ruined it. If you've previously bought wide Lifewalkers, be warned that they aren't as wide as they used to be.
A disappointed former Propet customer.

I have peripheral neuropathy and bought this product because it was advertised for diabetics with this medical condition. Not only that the shoes are heavy, but because of the rounded shape of the sole, when I walk all my weight shifts on my toes, and walking becomes painful. I wouldn't recommend these shoes for people with peripheral neuropathy.

Propét Life Walker Strap - My Review -
I bought this for my Dad who had hip surgery and had trouble finding shoes that fit, as his foot would swell during therapy. Purchased size 13 XX (5E). He could barely fit the shoe on his good foot and could not even fit it on his 'bad' foot. In other brands of shoes, he was at least able to put both shoes on, although they were uncomfortable. He liked the look of the shoe and would have tried another size, but the largest width was 5E.
I am trying one more Propét style of shoe that he likes to see how true to size they are.
