2nd pair of Arizona's - Love this style, bought the red this time. They squeak but that will diminish as they age. My 1st pair cost $85 but that was 15yrs ago. You pay for quality so I don't mind paying today's prices. No other shoe lasts as long as the Birk's.

Birkenstocks - I never realized how great Birkenstocks were until recently and want to share this with you! I have the Arizona's, plus approximately 25 pair of Birkenstock sandals and clogs. I stayed away from the clogs, thinking I would walk out of them, but I don't. I also have a few pair of the soft footbed sandals. I wish Birkenstock would make more styles in the soft footbed. They are nice too. I have flat feet and have had knee surgery several months ago. I know Birkenstocks are great, but did not know how great until recently. I am amazed, and now believe all the good things I read about them. I have been wearing regular shoes with orthodics all winter and spring. I have been living on Ibuprofen, as my knee and back hurt so much, and I also have arthritis. I just thought this was now a part of my life. Then summer arrived and I began to wear my Birkenstocks. I noticed a few days ago that I don't take Ibuprofen anymore. My knee no longer hurts and my back is much better. Also, I am not as stiff. I was happy, but couldn't figure out why the pain was gone, then realized that the pain stopped when I started wearing my Birkenstocks regularly. I always knew they were great sandals but thought the reviews were hype. THEY ARE NOT! I am in awe of what these sandals have done for me. I strongly recommend, that if you have not tried Birkenstocks, DO IT!! You will not regret it! I am 52 years old and thought I would have to live with my pain, and never dreamed "shoes" would be the solution to my aches and pains!! There is a break in period--wear them just a few hours at a time, until you adjust to them. It only takes a few days, and you will be in love!! What I did this year, was to start with the soft footbed ones I have, and slowly introduced the regular ones to my feet. It worked for me. Don't let the break in period scare you away. It's worth every minute and Birkenstock's are the best thing since Ibuprofen. THEY REALLY HELP! IT IS NOT HYPE!! I hate to repeat myself, but I am shocked that these sandals did so much for my pain! This winter I will be wearing clogs and using the sandals as slippers in the house!! No more pain for me! GET SOME!

Excellent all-around shoe! I purchased these shoes for my husband for his birthday. He has been wearing them non-stop ever since, and he really loves them. Although Birks are a bit "hard" and uncomfortable at first, they are made to conform to your feet. Since he has been wearing them, he has realized this, and now says they are very comfortable. Their style is perfect for wearing every day, with casual dress, and they are rugged enough to run around in when he is out in the yard or on the streets walking. All in all, he is very satisfied, and therefore, so am I. Totally worth the expense!

True to size. The sued stretches out after a few wears. So I have to put hole in the straps to make them tighter on my feet. Not my most comfortable Birks, but not bad.

I have wide feet so I bought the wider birkenstock sandals but they ended up being too wide. I had each buckle on the last hole, but I still didn't feel they were snug enough. I went into a brick and mortar store to try the narrower sandal and I had to put both buckles on the first first holes, but it seemed to fit better. Otherwise, the shoes were great.

I love Birks and these are no exception. My one star off review is because the straps are too long. I added an extra two holes, but the straps now come down to the bottom of the shoe. I need the regular footbed because of the actual width of my foot (the narrow is too narrow), but my shallow instep doesn’t “fill up” the length of the regular straps. Small problem in the grand scheme of things.

These didn't work out for me. The soles are super solid but they didn't fit to my foot shape. I bought it to help with my plantar fasciitis but the shoes seemed to add to my discomfort.

Even though I have several pairs of Birkenstocks I just didn’t like how they looked on my feet.

The material feels good, but the fit is slightly short.

I wear a sz 9 in women's shoes. I ordered this pair of 40N regular footbed as I have high arches and everything I read stated the regular footbed was necessary to get the proper support for high arches. The shoe on the left foot was just a hair too long and on the right foot it was significantly too long. Previously I tried a 39N regular footbed, which was a bit too short so that my toes hit the ridge in front. There are 2 charts I've seen online for Birkenstock sizing. One states 8-8.5 is a sz 9 or 39 and the other chart states 8.5-9 is a sz 9. I am guessing one chart is older and Birkenstock changed their sizing. So many shoe manufacturers are eliminating the half sizes. It's ridiculous and especially for a shoe that needs to fit properly in the arch placement. On another note, I have Fibromyalgia and the footbed on this was so hard it triggered the nerves on the bottoms of my feet and I was in burning pain all night after wearing them for the prescribed hour to begin to "break them in." I am going to have to send these back. If I didn't have various foot issues like high arches, Fibro, and various related problems, these might have worked with thick socks. The suede on these was smoother than on the soft footbed pair of the same size, but the color was not taupe. It looked more grey, a cross between tan and grey, which gave them a dirty look. I appreciate greatly Zappos' patience with my returns. There are no decent shoe stores in my immediate area, so I have to try things and do not know what will work or not. Sadly almost nothing thus far has worked. I might try SAS next as they get good but mixed reviews.

Shoe is just to hard for me..arch hurts my foot

I have owned Birks before and loved them. This is still the same great quality so I was pleased. The only thing is that the taupe color is a lot grayer in person. I was hoping for amore of a brown/nude tint.

Strap was damaged when shoes arrived. There was what looked like glue on the outside of the strap. Returning these and have reordered same shoe but this time I might try soft footbed.

I typically wear a size 12, but since I had an old pair of these Birkenstocks in size 44, and they still fit ok, I ordered 44 again. They felt a little small - my toes just fit inside the footbed. So I tried a 45 and they felt a whole size too large. I kept the 44s and will let my toes break in the end of the sandals. They feel ok, and the footbed bumps are in the right place. Wish they offered a 44.5.

I want to keep these because the color is sort of unusual; almost a brick or dark brown/rose color. But I have to return them because Birkenstocks never work for me...so I keep going back to Mephisto Helens, which fit my feet well and are comfortable for many years. I just wish Mephisto made them in suede.

So comfortable, no break-in at all for me. I love the suede straps, but I had to add an additional hole the first day to make them tight enough. Five days later, I've had to add a second hole on all four straps. I'm really hoping the stretching of the straps is about over, because I'm already going to have to clip them to keep them from hitting the ground on the outside of my shoe. But the foot bed is fantastically comfortable, and they stay on my feet well with the straps tightened. I'm a regular size 8.5, and the narrow 39s fit perfectly (straps adjusted).

I am a 36.5 and these were way to big for me. Maybe I should have gotten the narrow rather than the regular. I do have an older pair that is 37 regular and fit much better than these ones. Unfortunately I had to return them....

Careful buying unisex! I originally bought regular fit. I’m a female with narrow feet and assumed this was good. However, they were way too big! I reordered the narrow and fit perfect.

Love the way they look as they are a lot more feminine than the leather. Love the softness as well. However the straps are way too loose even on the inner most hole.

I had to return my normal size for a full size smaller and even that size runs big. Very strange.

I bought these in a US 10, normally always wear a size 10. Got them and they were way too big. I believe these are unisex.... I have wide feet and they were still too wide and big. I called customer service and they had no problem with me returning them. The lady I talked with helped me pick out a different style, she was wonderful! I had them within 2 days and returned the original ones. I LOVE the customer service!

As others have noted this shoe runs large. Chart states 35 is USA size 4 - 4.5 but they fit more like a size 5 so if you're a true 4 or 4.5 I would suggest ordering a size 34 in kids. The shoes are comfortable and I'm happy with my purchase.
