There are very many things I like about this shoe but I have to send them back because of the design in the footbed! Even though I don't consider myself to have tender feet the design in the footbed really bothers me. Within just a few minutes of standing in these shoes they begin to almost burn. The arch support is very pronounced so unless you have high arches you probably won't like these sandals. The adjustable straps are nice and they were easy to adjust and worked very well. I wear an 8 wide and purchased these in 8 wide and they fit true to size. If your feet can accept a pronounced pattern on the footbed and you have the high arch these are great!

I thought Zappos had great customer service. This was my first transaction with Zappos and I will be back for sure. I loved that I could try on the shoes at home and think about it before I decided, and I was a ble to get another pair in a different size no problem. I like the shoes but the toe seems extra wide (even though they are wide shoes)

It took me a few times of wearing my new Chaco Z's before feeling I would walk for miles in them. I guess they needed to be broken in or stretched a bit. They are great for outdoor use and perform well in slippery situations. I previously had ordered the other style with slender straps which weaved around the big toe and found these very difficult to wear so I returned them for this model and I am glad I did.

I normally wear a size 6 - European size 36.5. According to Chaco's website, EU 36.5 is actually a Chaco size 5. I ordered both 5 and 6 just to be safe, and the 5 was indeed the right size (although I think a 5.5 might have fit me better if it was an option; I wish the footbed extended just a tad more above my toes). While this shoe is a bit heavier than most sandals, I prefer the solid cushion between my foot and the ground! I usually wear an orthotic in closed-toe shoes, so this is a great sandal for me.NB: When putting on the sandal, it's important to sit down and make sure your heel is snug against the back strap, and then tighten the other straps. That way your foot will be lined up properly with the arch of the shoe. Otherwise, if you just bend down and haphazardly pull at the straps, the shoe may be secure but it won't be aligned right, and you might feel like you got the wrong size.

These sandals are very comfortable and provide good arch support. My only complaint is that my feet sweat in them when it is hot and humid.

Very happy with these sandals. I have all kinds of foot problems, Plantar Fasciitis, start of bunions, hammer toes, but so far these are very comfortable and supportive. I will probably buy other styles of Chaco in the future.

I really wanted to like these... I've been told by a few friends (hikers) that these are really of the best sandles out there. I really wanted to like them but to be honest, they just didn't feel right on my feet. I couldn't get them to fit comfortably; I also wasn't big on the brown color. The price is also a bit over the top.

Fairly comfortable and strong, could last forever - Had to reorder a smaller size in these and I have a wide short foot with a high instep. They could feel rough and a little heavy on some feet. Not like flip flops. Amazing arch support for a sandal and good for summer hiking where there are not a lot of rocks or sand.

I really like this shoe, my only wish is that it came in half sizes. It is slightly long, but a full size down would be too short. The width and support are excellent.

Although Chaco shoes are overall great for my feet, this style is not as comfortable for my feet as the one with the toe loop. Zappos is an amazing company where I love to shop.

Chaco sandal - Good comfort, my feet like the high arch support. True to size, if anything a bit large. I can stand on them for most of the day and not die from foot pain. No slippage from unique strap design. The straps are long and I have to tuck them back into the heel strap so they don't hang on the ground.

Not Bad - I have extremely wide feet that are also flat. These fit very well. The arch is kind of high, so I do like the feel of the Teva better on the bottom of my foot, but the strap on these are way more comfy. They are pretty cute, too. These would be great for someone with a high arch.

Cool comfort - These sandals are a gift from the gods! My knees tend to suffer from wearing flip flops all summer long walking up and down NYC. These shoes solved the problem. Excellent arch and heel support. I didn’t even need to brake them in. Plus the straps are adjustable without the bulk of velcro! I love them.

Chaco’s Z/1 Unaweep - I love the sandals with capris and jeans. Straps were a little hard to get adjusted at first. They have a true fit and quality is excellent. The customer service at Zappos is also the best!

Chaco review - Once you get used to it, it is comfortable. It takes a little getting used to the support.

Unaweep has a narrower heel bed. The Wide fits the heel, but the arch support is then not in the wrong place. I do not have a wide heel. I've never had to order wide before, but these simply do not fit.

I loved everything about these shoes except for the fact that you can't adjust the back heel!! It was so frustrating because they have amazing arch support, a great range of colors and styles, and fit everywhere else! Unfortunately though, I have to return them. There really should be a heel adjustment!!

If it's possible to have too much support, these sandals have it. I have a high arch and felt that the shape of the arch was "longer" than my arch, making the shoe uncomfortable. I was so disappointed because I loved the color and style. The straps themselves adjusted and fit comfortably, it was just the footbed. I am returning them.

These are wonderful shoes for comfort but they run big and I would recommend ordering in 1/2 size smaller.

I have two pair of Chaco Z-1 sandals, which I have loved for years and wear everywhere, even on mountain hikes because they have more arch support and comfort than any other shoe, including my hiking boots. So, I ordered another pair recently from Zappos (just another color, aqua marine), and it has a different sole (which I did want to try), but it is not comfortable at all. The strap is far too long, the sole has little arch support, the shoe does not conform to my foot, and my feet actually hurt when I wear them. I was wondering if these were imitation Chacos, or if perhaps Chaco sold to a new company and they are now making a look-a-like shoe? I cannot explain it, and cannot explain why these feel nothing at all like my two other beloved sandals. I will wear these for looks only, but not for hiking or outdoor use (as they were intended). It is a shame!

Cute boots! I fell in love with these because they had a similar silhouette to a much more expensive pair of boots that I am crazy about. They are comfortable since they have a very low, stable heel. Yet there is almost no ankle support here. The quality of the boot is sort of average. The leather looks like it might not hold up. I had a choice between these (the more expensive boot) and I decided to go with the pricier brand (Via Spiga) and I’m glad I did because the quality of those is vastly better. If you want the latest trend and don’t want to pay a lot for it, then these are great.

After reading the reviews, I was certain these would be superior to Teva's and bought a pair. I wore them around the house and found them weird, but reassured myself that others say you get used to it. OOPS! Mistake. I wore it to work on casual Friday and after walking around for a few hours my calves cramped up terribly. I am stuck with them, but hope others with high arches won't make this mistake. The back of heel part drops off so sharply from the high arch that they act like earth-type shoes and work calves very hard.

These hurt my feet. I usually wear more minimalist shoes like Vibram 5 Fingers; these sandals are thick and stiff. I have high arches and the arch support that everyone seems to love was very uncomfortable for me. The straps adjust but no matter what so do, I keep getting blisters. The end of the strap is too long, drags on the ground and gets dirty; I am surprised they don't have a mechanism to clip it to itself to avoid this. I am bummed I had to call it quits after wearing them a dozen times because my feet just could not continue.

The straps under the heel bother me. I'm sending them back. It feels like you are walking on the straps and it is irritating!

I wore these in the house and they seemed comfortable; but then had them on for a day trip and that's when I bought moleskin and completely lined the inside of the straps. Some places they still rubbed my foot and I doubled up on the moleskin. Also, being a little dense, I couldn't figure out how to adjust the straps. No directions. The great thing was my knee didn't hurt at all. I think it was due to the great arch support preventing my foot from pronating. Soooo. KNEE PAIN? FOOT PAIN? I choose no knee pain. I also took a whole size smaller. I initially ordered an 8; returned them for 7. Zappos is great and I love your service. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.
