Wide sizes - Love the shoe but why is it so hard to find in the wide version. Always have to settle for the boring colors due to width.

Awesome!!! These are awesome shoes. I had a sports injury to my toe and they were the most supportive shoes for my feet. I have some other Chacos and knew that they run large. Anyway, these are truly great and a must have for any active person.

Won't Come Off... I sail, hike, kayak and fish in these shoes. I'm wearing my third pair over about seven or eight years, but not because they wore out--my first pair had purple straps my wife hated, my second (black-strapped pair) were lifted from the beach where I left them under a friend's boat. The purple ones are still in use on my son's feet, and I presume the black ones are doing good service for someone, somewhere. Besides my regular, daily casual use, I have worn my Z1s wading in the Atlantic surf, walking though Chesapeake Bay mud, running through the woods with the dogs, in my kayak, and dinghy sailing. Adjust the straps properly, and they fit over socks and still won't come off until you want them to. Not even too bad for winter with thick wool socks if the snow is dry--good traction from the light lug soles. My kids laugh at the "Z" tan lines on my feet. I laugh at people in flip-flops. Great shoes.

Winner - I got these since they are the only sandals I could find in wide size. I am very picky & end up sending back 3 out of every 4 shoes I order, but these are keepers. It took 2 days to get used to the strap system (you can't wear the toe strap loose...it tightens on its own when you walk). Now I wear them whenever possible. Go Chaco. I had a pair of cheap Nike sandals & didn't know what I was missing.

Wide width just right - I often have a hard time finding sandals that fit since I have a wide foot. The straps are usually too short. The Chaco Z/1 Unaweep is a great exception. The wide width has straps that are long enough for even my wide foot. The arch support is higher than expected. It feels like you are standing and walking on a hump in the middle of the shoe. At first, I found that uncomfortable, but as I wear the sandals more, I'm finding that I like it. As always, Zappos is THE place to shop for shoes!

No doubt, these are some rugged sandals that last and last. That said, they feel pretty much like the bottom of heavy hiking boots strapped to your foot. Wait - that's exactly what they are. If you don't mind heavy (look at their weight - similar to a heavy duty shoe), thick, rigid soles, then these are for you. I much prefer lighter, more flexible shoes or sandals with better ground feel.

I bought the Chaco's with high expectations and most of them were met! The shoe is really comfortable as advertised. It is also sturdy and really does lengthen your stride. They are a joy to walk around in. The only small issue I have is the bigger than normal size. I wear a size ten and definitely go down to a 9.5 or 9 because the shoe is so long. Other than that, its a great sandal that won't wear out in a few months, I see it lasting years!

Got used to them - I am wearing these sandals and for the most part, I am pleased. They are easy to adjust and that helps. I sometimes feel that the texture of the rubber against my feet is uncomfortable.

Have worn the sandals for almost a year now. Great sandal, but materials are of very poor quality! The strapping frays and I question the "vibram" soles which have worn to within 1/16" of the bottom of the platform on the inside/rear portion of each sandal! I have had Vibram soles previously and that was a prime reason I bought the sandals. Had thought the wear on the soles would be liken unto other Vibram soles I had experienced. And once again I really appreciate the comfort of the sandals but the material quality did not meet expectations.

I bought these for my son. He lives in them. I purchased them for a vacation trip that will require a significant amount of hiking and water sports.

I bought them as a gift for my dad. He loves them. He typically hates sandals because of the lack of support and straps that cut into his feet. These were perfect for him and his "bad" feet.

My feet are so, so, so happy in these sandals. I wish I could wear them year round. I'm on my feet a lot and in the summer, I switched to wearing these for walking instead of my regular walking shoes. Wow, I love these shoes!

These are the most comfortable and supportive sandals I have ever owned. They take a little adjusting to get the straps just right.

Super sandal! And the platform is amazing! I am able to walk/hike/stand for hours on end with no foot fatigue! And with my hiking shoes on I'm feeling foot fatigue after a couple of hours. When I tried them on at a sporting goods store I had thought they were too heavy. But once on your feet and hiking a bit you don't notice the weight of the sandal at all! A great sandal! Wow! Like 'em so much I use them even when there's cactus all around! Takes a bit of getting used to the straps but oh, my what a treat to be able to wear socks during the cooler mornings or late evenings. And the Vibram soles thankfully insure a long life! Hiking is a passion of mine and I have put well over 300 miles on the sandals and the soles show no wear at all. I wear a 10 shoe but the size 10 was just right for me. You gotta have a pair of these sandals!

I require a lot of my sandals, and have worn-out many a pair. These have not let me down in any way, and are simply the best I have ever worn. First off, the adjustable "buckle" strap system is far superior to the typical Velcro used on most sandals of this type. But still plenty easy to get in & out of. Secondly, the Vibram soles and foot-bed are substantial. Most "sport-sandals" that still use nylon straps tend to be fairly lightweight, spongy, and flimsy. And the so-called "hiking-sandals" of other well-known brands are really just shoes with a few holes in them. These are the best of both worlds -- they are still sandals giving your foot full openness and breathability, but they are plenty rugged, durable,and supportive to take on rocky hikes or aggressive biking. As a result, they are a tad bit heavier than other "strap-style" sandals, but a worthwhile trade-off for the security and support they offer. Regarding support, I normally wear orthotics in my shoes for arch support, but this is obviously a problem when wearing sandals. However, the Chacos give me plenty of the support I need and I can wear them all day with no orthotics. They seem to run about a half-size small, which may be an issue since they are only offered full sizes. However, if you find yourself between-sizes, I recommend letting your toes be a little closer to the edge rather than go to the next larger size, which will put the arch in the wrong place, and you'll end up with way too much strap. Speaking of which, the straps probably won't fit right out of the box. They are a continuous loop that must be initially adjusted to your foot. This is a one-time deal and a little bit tricky, but there are instructions to follow printed inside the box-lid.

I really love these sandals. Love them enough to buy them even though I had to take a half size smaller than I prefer. The great arch support was a big selling point, as was the sculpted heel cup...and heel riser. Plus the neat way the straps adjust. Really a super sandal. Oh yes, I bought the mens because the D Width is perfect. If only they came in half sizes! I'd buy three more pair!

These are fantastic sandals. I wear them every day (while it\'s warm) and love them.

I bought these sandals from Zappos.com over a year ago, and wear them every single day. Being a grad student, I am in class all day long or in meetings, and these sandals breathe well and do not get uncomfortable at all. The arch support is the best I have ever had in a shoe, and they wear very well. I even wear them with heavy socks in the winter. I have worn them with everything thing from jeans, and even my suit. Don't wait - get these sandals!

The most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. The arch support is terrific and since all the straps are adjustable, you get a customized fit. They're great for just about everything; hiking, walking, beach, casual, etc. They dry very fast when wet and are machine washable. These are the only shoes I wear anymore except for when I run. These shoes are also sustainable because you can send them back to Chaco and they'll put new soles on them, cut or add length to the straps, or change out the straps. I recommend these to everyone.

These are the best sandals I have ever owned. I can hike and walk in them all day and then wear them out to dinner. They are great for traveling. I use them for water sports. Grab a pair.

Very happy with this purchase. My foot size is somewhere between 9.5 and 10 but it turned out that 9 was the proper size for Chaco's (they don't have half sizes). After spending some time adjusting the straps, I found these the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned. Highly recommended.

These are without a doubt, the best sandals, or shoes for that matter that I have ever owned. I wear them to school, hiking, the lake, everywhere. The sandals are comfortable, supportive, fit great! Chaco's does not make half sizes so order down.

This is the 3rd pair of these I've owned, first pair was purchased in 2003 and lasted until 2010. Second pair was eaten by my dog after 3 days. This pair is supposed to be a wide, and as I've had wides before it doesn't feel the same and the straps have no additional length to them, luckily I have a wide foot and not a fat foot or I would have been out of luck because I'm pretty sure these aren't wides, even though the box was marked as such.

Had these for a few weeks now, wear them every day. So far they're comfortable and seem pretty durable.
