I bought these to replace my former pair, which lasted mosre than 6 years of hard use. Unfortunately, there have been changes is design, especially a slightly higher heel and platform. Also unfortunately, Zappos' website did not reflect that change, causing multiple returns and false promises of price breaks due to bad info. A rare, bad Zappos experience.

I have been wanting a pair of Danskos for years! I am on my feet for sometimes up to 16 hours. I have heard nothing but great things about these shoes. I, however, am having a hard time with them. I am a size 8.5-9 so I ordered a 39...way too small, returned and got a 40...still on the small side. Well, the right foot is good, the left is tight. I'm not sure what to do at this point...I am going to send these back too, just not sure if I will order another pair...boo!

After only wearing my Danskos for a little over a day, I'm sold. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. I am a 9.5-10 normally and so I figured I'd be a 40. I borrowed a pair from my mom, and while the size 40 felt okay for the most part, my toes were hitting the inside of the front when I walked. Not painful but annoying. So when I ordered my own I chose a size 41. It was a good move, fits perfectly. My guess is that a lot of people who are having difficulty finding the right size are trying to find a size that fits them more snugly like other shoes do, which won't really work. Danskos fit differently, they are supposed to be looser. Also, very impressed with Zappos...free shipping? Of course! I ordered my shoes and was pleasantly surprised to see them delivered in the am the very next day. Hurrah!

The picture isn't an accurate representation of the color, even when magnified all the way. The Cordovan Cabrio style is definitely more red than brown. If you are looking to buy brown shoes, these are not what you want. In my opinion, the color is feminine.

I had heard these shoes are used by people that are on their feet all day and they were comfortable. I thought they might be when I tried them around the house, but once I wore them at work 10 hours, I realized they were not comfortable. They would be if there was some padding in the foot bed, but there is nothing. The foot bed shape was perfect, but with no padding at all, my feet got tired half way through the day. I wasted the money! Had to find some other shoe, because these weren't working.

I have bought several pairs of these over the years and always wear the size 37. Then I bought the patent leather ones and found them to stretch so much that I walk right out of them and the right shoe squeaks when I walk. So disappointed because I love how they look but have worn them too much to return.

At first, I was thrilled with these shoes. I have plantar fasciitis, and the fantastic arch support in these shoes took away my pain. Unfortunately, after a few weeks I started to have knee problems. I stopped wearing them and the knee pain subsided. The problem stems from a complete lack of shock absorption in the shoes. The soles are very hard and unforgiving. I may alternate them with other shoes to mitigate the effects. I was very disappointed because they had helped the plantar fasciitis so much.

These looked wonderful and were so cute, but the left foot was loose and the right was tight...could be my own feet, but these did not work for me.

It was great for a while, six months or so. Everybody I know in the medical world loves these shoes. I was hoping that I would love them, too. Standing on my feet all day, everyday becomes painful. Unfortunately, these changed the way that I walked and even though my feet felt better, it made my hips hurt. I am sure this is just an unfortunate occurrence. For the most part, this is a great option. As far as the comfort of the actual shoe. It did make my feet feel better, but they are not cushioned if that is what you are looking for, that is not what you will get. Also, as you can probably tell from the thickness of the sole, they are not flexible.

Great shoes, comfort all day for standing. Not a walking all day at the zoo or shopping all day. Loved the dressy shiny appeal except it's been 4 months and the paint has peeled (they cost too much to be peeling in 4 months) and they look terrible, I'm so disappointed.

They are wonderful shoes but the sizing is odd and I can't wear them due to the fact that I have a high instep.

I have had mild plantar fasciitis on and off for a couple of years. I also have large, wide feet - size 10. These clogs are the only shoes besides sneakers that I can wear comfortably day to day. I was ready for a new pair of Danskos and ordered my usual size 41, which have always worked best with my wide feet. But I experimented this time and also tried a 40 Wide, which according to the sizing guidelnes should be my true size. As other reviewers have mentioned, I found that they ran short. The width was great but I'd say they were at least half a size short. I'm sticking with the 41 regular width and with Zappos. Can't beat the selection and the customer service!

I just received these and LOVED the way they looked, but am disappointed with the fit. I wear an 8, so ordered the 38 (women's 7.5-8), trying to avoid getting them too big. But my right foot definitely feels cramped…especially my toes on the ends and tops… I plan to offer them to my daughter who wears a half size smaller than I do, and then if she likes them, I may try ordering a size 39, hoping they aren't too big. This is why I was gun-shy about ordering shoes online. We don't get the chance to try them on first! : (

I have a lot of foot pain and I have been looking for shoes that will be comfortable to walk and stand in. Typically I wear sandals, but it's winter time and wet outside so I was also looking for something that could brave the weather. I ordered these because they have such a good reputation. The package came and looked in great condition. I tried the shoes on and knew instantly that these were not going to work. But, I decided to wear them around the house for 30 minutes. After about 15 minutes I had to remove them because my feet hurt too much. I'm sure these are great shoes, but not for me. I'm returning them

I have a pair of black oiled and they are like slippers.I ordered a pair of patent in the same size only to find they are too small. Zappos sent me the next size up to compare and one fits while the other is too large. What the heck Dansko? It's almost a full shoe size difference between the two shoes. Not sure what's going on with the sizing.

The hickory cabrio is attractive, but very easily marred. I must have had some cooking oil drop on mine, because I have two washed out color spots on the top of one shoe in just the first week of wear. Rain does not damage the shoe, but slight scrapes on the leather are permanent. I don't think a shoe polish is made in this unique color.

Loved the tooling on this show. Unfortunately, I have to face the fact that since Dansko now has China, Italy, etc. manufacture their shoes, the sizing is not the same as it was before the split with Sanita. These simply do not fit me. The 41, which I wore for years previously, is too big, and the 40 is just short enough that my toes hurt at the end of the day. Had to send them back.

I wanted to love these but although as a teen I wore clogs with a wooden base, I wanted something a tad softer now that I'm in my 50s. These felt like wood and dense, heavy, wood, on the bottom. All around, actually. I kept the Orthoheels that I had also purchased, and returned these.

The shoes are too tight--I actually bought two pairs. I bought the larger size (8.5) because I was dubious about the fit, and those were too loose and hurt my feet when I had to walk a lot. The second pair (8) were too tight and when they were new, my feet would go numb because they were so stiff and didn't stretch enough. Now that the shoes have been worn in a bit, the size 8 shoes were the right size for me. It was the first time I had to wear in a pair of Dansko shoes--if I wasn't determined enough to stretch out the second pair, I would have missed out on a good shoe and lost money as they would have sat until they rotted... :-)

I am a Massage Therapist at a five-star spa and bought these because of their great reviews and their professional look. Also on my wife's recommendation (also a massage therapist) I really wanted these to work, and really like the look. But they were the wrong shoe for my application and so returned them. I asked my wife how she feels in them when she works and she said she takes them off! I cannot do this in my setting. I have never worn a clog, or a shoe with a heel. These shoes have a very thick, stiff, solid sole with a high arch support. I found they raise my center of gravity (I'm two inches taller in them). As a therapist, I do a lot of side to side lateral movement, almost like a dance. Having the heel higher than the toe made it very difficult for me to ground through my feet. Also, the solid feel to the sole made it hard to just feel the ground. I had a hard time feeling a sense of balance in these shoes. The heel makes you rock forward to the toe. Also, because of the clog shoe type, it is a looser fit. Which made it difficult to feel balanced in them, especially in side to side lateral movement. This might be a great shoe in a different application. I hope this helps others like me, find a more suitable shoe.

I could just scream. I have been on a quest to find a truly excellent pair of clogs for my flat feet and my post-surgical knees, and these are the ones I ordered first. I liked the ones I got then and I only sent them back because I was still having some pain, and I started an amazing round of ordering and returning... Zappos has been great, not a murmur at taking them all back...and finally I decided to go back to these. WELL. They just arrived, spot-spot as usual, right after I ordered them yesterday afternoon. Great service, who can deny it? The shoes, though, are NOTHING like the originals: not only are they not narrow (although stamped as such), they were scuffed on one side, and shorter than the originals ones; my toe bangs into the end of one. I just want to pull my hair out! Jeez. This isn't Zappos fault--although I suppose someone should have noticed that the shoes are scuffed--it's Dansko's. I read somewhere that these shoes are now made somewhere in China, in fact a number of places in China, and they are all different. I personally can attest to that. Rats. I had actually planned to try Sanitas, but they were out of my size.

I am a size 7 and ordered a 38 in the Dansko Professional Hickory, Dansko Professional Black Oiled and Sanita Professional Croco Bordeaux. The Dansko Hickory did not work for me; it was the widest and longest fit of the three. Additionally, the left clog felt flat and therefore, not supportive. These will be going back. For me, the Sanita and Dansko Black oiled were a great fit out of the box.

I bought the tooled professional a year ago and love that I have no foot ache after a long day of floor nursing. The design and comfort of this shoe are phenomenal! Cosmetically, however, after a years wear, the tooled design has worn off at the toe end. I have to black polish the tips to look presentable, it is smooth now and does not resemble the tooled look of the entire shoe. Nurses out there; you can understand why his would happen with repeated use of the foot breaks on patients' bed! I own seven pairs of Danskos, and still wear the first pair I purchased in 2004! I can not wear anything other, just wish the more unique looks were more durable..

I bought my Dansko professional shoes in black patent mid-February, 2012. Now, 7.5 months later, the patent has torn over the toe. I've probably worn them 3-4 times a week for that time. I feel like they should have lasted longer. Does anyone know of a way to repair this problem? The shoes are comfortable; however, I also want them to look great. I'm kind of disappointed.
