Tried and found wanting- I ordered the Dansko Professional on recommendation of my sister who wears them because of foot problems. After wearing them around the house for two weeks I started wearing them to work. I work in the kitchen at a nursing home, 6 hours a day, on my feet all 6 hours, standing and walking on hard, cement floor/tile. They cut me across the instep and I got blisters on my small toes. I took them to a shoe store and had them stretched over a period of 36 hours... they still cut me so have done the stretching again. I can only wear them for about 3 hours at work then I have to switch shoes to something else. If I had not worn them to work to see how the shoes would work out for me I should have returned them, but now I can't do that. Just don't know what to do with them. I won't be able to wear them as long as they hurt my feet.

KILLER OF A SHOE - Yes, looks great but kill my feet by the end of the day. Go limping out of work after 9 hours on my feet on cement floors. Have been wearing them only 3 weeks and still waiting for them to stretch. Should have bought half size bigger but they look so great on the foot while sitting. Have a torn ligament in left ankle and now don't know what hurts worse, the ankle or the shoes.

Not for wide feet - I purchased these since everyone raved about them. I have wide feet, and these were not the shoes for me. I had to return them. There is room in the toe box, but not width wise. They were rubbing against the inner ball of my foot. My feet also pronate, so the high arch was very uncomfortable. I was disappointed. Too bad they don't come in wide with a flatter arch, or they would've been perfect for me.

Dansko Professional - Several doctors, podiatrists and nurses in the O.R where I work wear these shoes and highly recommended them, so I bought a pair. They have never been very comfortable for me since I started wearing them a year ago. They seemed to fit perfectly during initial wear but stretched out causing my feet to slip forward with my toes constantly hitting the front of the shoe. I am also developing a bunion which I attribute to the aforementioned slippage. (I wear a size 7 1/2 and bought a size 38. A colleague of mine buys a size smaller than recommended for her true size and has no problems.) The shoes are very sturdy however, and provide incredible support and shock absorption. I have also had a significant decrease in back pain while wearing these shoes.

Yes, these clogs are wonderful for 12 hour shifts. I have had four pair and no problems breaking in, comfort, etc. The soles in all four pair began to crumble after only 18 months like sudden dry rot, so do be aware that although the leather uppers wear beautifully, the soles are a big problem. Not good for an expensive shoe such as this one!

Couldn't get used to them - I ordered these thinking this will help my feet in my job (medical). I didn't like the heel slippage (this is supposed to be how they fit, they slip up & down on the heel as you walk)... I didn't care for that. Also the platform sole is a bit high. I just felt very unstable in these shoes. My job requires alot of quick movements and these shoes seemed to me to be more for walking forward in a straight line, not for quick movements, forward and/or side to side... so I sent them back.

For many years, I wore Dansko professionals. It would be at least 4-5 years before they wore out. They had been made in Denmark and other Europeans countries. When I learned that manufacturing had moved to China, I vowed not to buy them again. Unfortunately, I succumbed to my love of the brand and curiosity got the best of me. Big mistake. Big disappointment. I purchased a pair 6 months ago and the heels have already worn down. To the point that my doctor has advised that I not wear them as the wear aggravates the tendinitis in my knee. Dansko has joined too many companies in lowering quality of materials and outsourcing to China. I no longer recommend them to anyone. Very sad.

I wore these shoes over 2 days, 8 hour shifts. I developed horrible, painful blisters on the sides of my feet. Now what? Do I keep wearing them while limping in pain and hope that it get better or should I just chalk it up to a big cash loss? By the way, I did not buy these at Zappos, and I did try on one size smaller and they were way too small.

Not wide - I buy a lot of Dansko shoes and this pair was the narrowest I have ever put on.

For me a whole size larger than what I would normally wear is what worked on these brown clogs. I wear these to the office and for walking as my foot Dr. said I needed a stiff sole. Love the brown leather - got some light scratches on them with some impromptu tree trimming and was able to quickly hand buff them out with a shop rag. Some people say clogs may make you twist your ankle - and I noticed they are a bit more biased towards whatever you happen to be walking on - here is some advice on how not to twist your ankle in general: If you step wrong and your ankle starts to twist just shift your weight quickly to your other leg/foot and catch your balance on the foot/ankle that is not twisting. Don't resist the twist on the ankle that is tripping up - catch yourself on your other foot!

I can see why these shoes are constantly recommended to people who work on their feet. I'm a woman but I wear a 44 W and the fit for me here was good. (Keep in mind, you shouldn't feel the back of the shoe on your foot, and that can take a little while to get used to but it's much more comfortable than other typical clogs I've worn.) I transitioned to these after wearing shows with essentially no arch support. I knew it would take awhile for them to feel broken in and for me to get used to them, but after about a week of wearing to work I was really happy with them.

I was disappointed in this shoe. It's too tight across the top of my foot and really flopped on my heel. I'm currently doing my nursing clinicals and I am looking for a comfortable shoe. This is not it.

This is my third pair of Dansko Shoes...I have tried some others but with my Danskos I know they will fit right. I don't even have a break in period. The patent looks so good, kind of a little dressier! Will be purchasing more, they last so long and are by far the most comfortable shoes I own...and the compliments!

These fit great! I ordered them in narrow with hopes that they would fit and they do. My optometrist suggested these, because she is on her feet a lot and so am I. She has had hers for 8 years and counting. I stand on concrete all day and they are working well for me.

I normally wear a size 9.5-10 and I have to go up to a size 42 so they aren't too tight on the top of my foot (high arches). Funny that they should be huge on me, but they don't feel that big when wearing -- I just look like I have big feet! I thought I didn't love my Dansko's until I tried Aelgria, Asics, Nikes, Crocs, etc. After 3 shifts in a row my feet and legs hurt so bad I could hardly walk from the car to the front door of my house with any of the other brands. After 3 consecutive shifts with Dansko's I hardly feel any leg fatigue and my feet don't hurt. I'm back to buying Dansko's several sizes up and have a new appreciation for them.

I've been wearing Dansko's for work for the past few years now. I am an emergency room nurse, which means I am on my feet for 12 plus hours at a time. These shoes provide a sturdy support which greatly reduces my leg and low back pain (I also wear knee high support socks). They are also skid-free and if they fit right they don't slide around on my feet! Love these shoes!

I have worn Danskos for several years. While they are not the most stylish shoes around, they certainly offer the support and comfort for a professional on their feet all day. They are well made shoes with very good arch support. These are the only shoes that do not leave my feet hurting at the end of the day. I like the design on the leather.

Excellent shoes. I am a surgeon and wore the first pair I had for 12 years. They finally had to be retired. I replaced the insoles several times during that span to restore their comfort. Very comfortable and great looking. Highly recommend.

Love these shoes. I am on my feet for eight hour shifts and these shoes make a big difference. I wear a 6 1/2, but ordered the 6. There is plenty of room. The back comes up a bit like a clog, but I read that that is how it's supposed to fit.

Love Danskos! They saved my feet/arches when I was standing 8 hours plus at work! I didn't have time to complain nor does anyone want to hear it. Nor should they have to. I went to the mall and shopped for the best shoes. I had to, new career, big money on the line, but it couldn't work if I couldn't walk or stand! I was sold when a woman told me she ran around campus all day and was also a full time waitress at night. She has over heard me taking about my feet and my needs and chimed in. I had to try them. (better than anything else I tried). Never had a problem since. Miracle shoes! I have 3 pairs and 5 years later and still resort back to my old Broken in pair. They take a couple weeks to break in but I still love my 5 year old ones. Best investment! Zappos delivered for free Next day!

As always, Dansko shoes are comfortable and great for work. If you are on your feet for a long time, these shoes are the best. They will last for years and are good for your feet. Just make sure that they are big enough...you should be able to fit your fingers between your heel and the back of the shoe.
