I usually wear a 42 and bought a 40 because I like my sandals to hug my feet somewhat so I don't have to do the toe clenching thing. I also didn't realize that the black part is not leather, but oh well, I guess I saved some animal.

I love my Birks. It took me a few tries to get the correct fit. My suggestion is try them on at a store. Buy your exact size. Make sure your toes are exactly at the edge of the front and your heel is exactly in line at the back. After the cork gets broken in and the leather too, they kind of "grow." I bought a bigger size with this last pair (I have three pairs and my son wears two of them so it is a great investment) but they are too loose and I feel like I am gripping my feet when I walk. So this last pair is not that comfortable. But my son loves them so no complaints! I biffed on the sizing so I only blame myself! Great shoe. Birks for life. I have very high arches and wear orthotics and I have had double bunion surgery. They are so comfortable. They are the only summer type of shoe that works for me.

Super comfortable! I have very narrow feet but these fit great - especially since I can easily adjust the straps for a perfect fit. Walk all day comfy!

Awesome sandals. I bought a pair at a shop and was hesitant to buy another pair on-line. I was surprised at the speed I received them and happy with the sandals overall. 5 stars on the Zappos service!

I have wanted the Arizona Birkenstock but thought it would be too wide for my narrow foot. I usually wear a 6 or 6.5 narrow. I purchased the 6.5 narrow and love them! I would say if anything they are a little short so go toward the higher range of your size.

2nd pair of these that I have owned. Find the quality to be excellent and the support they provide to be outstanding. Have been more than satisfied with this product. Just be sure and read the pamphlet re: how to order the correct width.

I wear orthotics in my shoes which makes it tough to wear sandals. Usually my legs would ache afterward. Birkenstocks almost are orthotics! No pain afterward. They're tough and comfortable. Most of all...supportive. Love these sandals.

Love my new ugly shoes. Big fan of the "ugly shoe" (as some call them) with skirts and dresses. Easy to throw on, high quality and comfy.

Awesome shoes in quality and looks, and I love the deep brown. I did have to exchange them for a smaller size though, which were still more than half a size too big - pretty surprising, but perhaps they'll adjust a bit as they get worn in.

After wearing out 3 pairs of Birkenstocks, this is my first new pair in ten years. Some reviewers said new ones aren't as good as the old, but I disagree. These are every bit as comfortable as my old ones! I'm on my feet for ten hours at work, and these are the only shoes that keep my hips from aching. As always with Birkenstocks, wear them for short periods for the first few days. According to the chart, I should wear a 40, but I gambled with a 39 and they are perfect. Style is just ok, but, hey, they're Birkenstocks!

I cannot get over these shoes, they are surpassing all my other favorite sandals in comfort and style. The matte black finish with black buckles goes with everything and I can dress them up or down as needed. It took me a minute to get used to the arch support, but now I would choose these over sneakers any day. The enamel on the buckles has chipped away after only a week of wear, however, which is kind of disappointing but I suppose in the end will add to the charm. Would buy again!

I would like to say these sandals have been one of the best shoes I have ever worn in my life. They feel more and more comfortable each time I wear them. This is truly a great product!!

Great fit. Comfortable shoes, even to break in. They are wide, they are ugly and they are great!

Aside from the excellent product quality and features, this purchase was actually an exchange for a different size. It was well after the original purchase date and the invoice was not to be found. However, the Customer Service Rep at Zappos could not have been more courteous and accommodating in providing the means to make the exchange. This included a shipping label to be used to return the original pair prepaid. Additionally, the new pair were at my front door in 2 calendar days. It's this sort of customer service that results in the ultimate in customer satisfaction. Thank you,Zappos!

There is a reason that these shoes have been around for so long. They are really comfortable! I had been looking at shoes with extra cush that help with lower back pain like Airmax. My son recommended these so I tried them. They are awesome. They seem to give you an all day foot massage by being form fitting along with just the right amount of cush!

These are my first pair of Birkenstocks and I am very happy wit them. They are well made and so supportive of my feet. I'm definitely interested in getting some more!

I bought two pair of these shoes for my male friends. I ordered them in what they each told me was his shoe size (9 and 13). When they arrive, both pairs where too big. I exchanged them for the next size down for each (8 and 12). When those arrived they fit and were much enjoyed.

Ordered these as we all know they are back in style! I always wear a size 6 so I ordered the 37. They were way too big. Ordered the 36 and they were perfect. Not the most stylish looking sandal, but comfy and fun to wear for summer.

I have worn Birkenstock sandals for years and have never been disappointed. I like the Arizona better that the soft suede because they tend to hold their shape better and give you more support. As for the sizing I looked at the chart and they listed a 9½W as a 42 regular. The 42 regular fit perfectly and the adjustments on the straps took care of the width.

I have size 10 feet that are pretty wide, and I'm on them all day long for work, so I definitely seek comfort in my footwear. I'm so glad that Birks are back in style! This particular style has classic appeal. I originally got a size 41 which stated that it was for people with size 10-10.5 feet, but I found them to be too big and they flopped around on my feet when I walked. Also, when my heel was in the cup, my toes were too far back, and vice versa. I have since returned them for a size 40 and have found that it fits my foot much better. My toes are extremely long so they definitely hit the top edge of the shoe now when I walk, but it's a minor annoyance, and overall the shoes fit like a glove. I've only worn the shoes out twice, so they are not broken in yet (still sort of stiff), but I expect to give them plenty of wear time this summer. Hopefully these will be shoes that I have for years to come!

Aesthetically they're not my favorite, but they are so comfortable I don't want to wear any other shoes. My feet are pain free and happy after long walks or standing for long periods of time when I wear my Birks. Having high arches I didn't think that I needed arch support, I was wrong and it feels excellent.

I absolutely love my Birks! They are so very comfortable. It took a few days to get used to the way they fit, but they end up molding perfectly to your feet over time. They are cute, comfortable, and definitely great quality. I am in love with them. I do advise you to size down, as they run large. I ordered a pair in 37 because I am usually a US size 6, but I had to return them in exchange for a 36. And now they fit perfectly.

For a shoe this classic, no reviews are necessary. Runs true to size. Forms to your foot after multiple wears. Very comfortable (absolutely perfect for traveling). I have really high arches and these are still very comfy for me. Versatile style. These last forever!
