Since 2001 I've had 4-5 pairs of these shoes. These shoes are light and comfortable enough. They were the perfect everyday work shoes. Now it seems the quality control is either slacking or it could just have been a fluke. I bought a new pair last year and there's already a 2" seperation at the natural flex of the foot, on the right side where the leather meets the plastic (above the stitching). These shoes used to last me 3-4 years.

I have always worn a 9.5 Wide shoe, I receive these and they are extremely too small and narrow.

Although the soles are quite thick and they have a lot of traction, they feel like wearing Frankenstein shoes. Much too heavy and inflexible for my tastes.

I love Skechers shoes and that's about all I buy, but this one was a dud. As usual with all my Skechers, I can't get it to wear out, it's built like a truck, but after two years I can't seem to break it in, even after sometimes wearing it 4-6 days a week. I'll be Goodwilling these bad boys. They feel really narrow, and just don't fit quite right. All my other shoes fit great, and I've got some I've been wearing for close to 13 years that won't wear out. I'll still buy Skechers, but I can't recommend this one, especially in a size > 11.

Bought this shoe as a work shoe (leather uppers) for my lab. I bought them last October 2009 and they appear to be cracking on the sole already. Not as durable as a boot style as I would have liked. they haven't even last one year from purchase.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that the low-quality leather used to make these shoes. Most shoe shoppers have seen exactly what I am talking about; the leather can be scratched very easily with a light touch, creating lighter-colored marks all over the shoe. If worn, the shoe quickly looks old and beaten up. In my experience, this type of leather is not very durable, structurally, either. The rivets on either side of the instep (top of the foot) create friction points on the inside of the shoe. (they 'poke through') We found the exact same style shoes at a local retailer and those pairs of shoes had the exact same issues as the ones directly from Skechers.com.The shoe seems narrower than marked, and a full size smaller than marked. They are very heavy shoes with thick soles, but have very little padding inside compared to other Skechers shoes.[...] I would advise trying these on somewhere before buying them!

This is my 3rd pair of Skecher Mariners and will be my last.
My first 2 pairs were marvelous. They were the most comfortable shoes I'd worn in years and both pairs lasted for more than a year of continuous daily wear.
This pair does not have the same feel at all. The leather and soles are not the same. After just a couple of days they started to stretch out.

I've owned this shoe(mariners) for two months. I'm a car salesperson and don't abuse or misuse the shoes. The left sole is split open so bad and the right one is starting to split, I'm going to send these back to you because there is somethong wrong with the sole materials are stiff and brittle. Too bad because I like the overall feel of the shoes.

Shoes look great, but the second time I wore them, the top of the boot near the laces came unsewn! I have now had to pay to return the shoes and I am waiting for a new pair to arrive. The sizing is also way off. I normally wear a 10 1/2 or 11, and the 9 1/2 fits me perfectly.

I purchased these shoes at a regular retail store a few years ago (pre-pandemic, so about 3 years ago) and did not wear them for the first time until about 2 weeks ago. When removing the shoes, the soles literally pulled off the bottom of the shoe, making them useless and had to throw them away in the garbage. It tells me the shoes are probably very old stock and that the glue had deteriorated to the point that the soles pull off bottom of shoe in 1 wearing. They are not sewn on soles, but glued. I loved the style of these shoes, but Sketchers is not making their leather shoes the way they did 25 - 20 years ago. Yes, I have a pair of original Alley Cat roughened leather shoes that are still wearable and in decent shape after 15 - 20 years. That is certainly NOT the case with the products they making today. Would not recommend unless Sketchers ups their quality standards radically, and stops selling very old shoes. Sad but true.

Poor construction- Dried excess glue along the front of shoe where sole meets upper part, while other parts of the seam appeared to not be sealed at all.
Tried them on anyway before returning, and found them to actually be too wide…which was a first for me!

Well the shoes looked good and fit good, I sized down from my usual sneaker size 11 1/2 to 11. But the left shoe toe box leather had a defect where it felt thinner and not solid as the right foot. I was dissapointed because they fit and looked good, but Skechers quality seems to vary, so I sent them back.

These shoes used to be great but about a year ago things changed, and they are no longer very good. The soles in the two latest pairs I have bought wore out in a couple of months to the point of not being wearable. Prior to this, the soles outlasted the other parts of the shoes, which amounted to a couple of years of use........So, it appears someone in Sketcher's management decided that long lasting soles are not good for business.....too bad, will try other brands.

The interior exposed rivet placements at the base of the laces cut into the sides of my feet. Just trying them on left marks in my skin.

After reading the reviews, I expected these shoes to be comfortable work shoes. Boy was I wrong and so were the reviews. These are the most uncomfortable shoes! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! I've had them about 3 wks. And gave them a two week trial. I will not wear them again, nor will I ever buy shoes online again.

Comfortable but not good quality for daily hard use. They are already falling apart on the inside. Have only had them one month!

My Husband really love these shoes, its all he wears, but lately everytime we go into a store or try to order online there always out or never have his size. These are obviously a popular brand so maybe it might be smart to order more of these shoes, preferbly in sizes 11 to 12....

I really wanted to like these shoes, and they fit decently, but they turned out to be some of the worst shoes that I have ever owned. I wear size 14 so some of these issues might only apply to similar sizes. In the first few weeks the shoes were very stiff. I expected a bit of stiffness, but combined with the thickness of the sole it made it very difficult to drive a car with a clutch. Now after having them for about six months the sole of the shoe I use for the clutch has completely split in half and the shoes are falling apart. The other big issue I had with these is that the brass grommets for the laces are not well made. They are very abrasive on the shoe laces and I ended cutting right through a pair of laces while trying to tie them one day. I found another pair of laces that advertised themselves as lasting forever and taking a lot of wear, but I have nearly worn through those laces too now. All in all these shoes are not well made and not suitable for much of anything except wading through puddles and making yourself look an inch taller.

These STARTED out to be a very nice a comfortable shoe. However once you wear them 5-6 times the lines in the outer starts to show and whatever chincy PAINT that they use to cover the cheap materials starts to come off. Save your cash for another brand. Really come to be discouraged from Sketchers products lately. They were a go-to back in high school. Economy must have caused them to cheap out on their products.
