The size was good (10.5) but the width was too wide for me. This shoe was only offered in two widths (D and EE). I take an E but I though maybe the double E would work. I returned the shoes for a refund. Too bad this shoe wasn't available in width E.

I ended up buying three of these before finding the right size ("size" should really be "length"). Normally I wear a regular width 11.5, which is what I should be based on measurements, but in these I wear an 11 EE (wide). Might even be able to do 10.5 but didn't want to risk it or order a fourth pair... They aren't really comfortable at all, even with my inserts, for a new shoe. The "inserts" that come with them aren't removable, but they aren't thick either so that's okay, just like a thick piece of felt. Hopefully they get better with time, but compared to other new shoes they're not comfy on their own. Just flat, no cushioning, sharp-edged tongue with little padding anywhere, like many dress shoes. Some of them look nice; one pair I got (out of three) was lighter/barely oiled, and didn't look as nice. Fortunately the one I settled on (the wide one) was nicely finished.

The size is perfect for what I need and I really like the look of the design. But there is no padding or insole worth speaking of whatsoever. I was forced to buy insoles to get these where they should be as far as any kind of arch support is concerned and then they would have been okay. Unfortunately, the pair I just got had no padding near the rivet/stitching and the left shoe seems like it was cut differently than the right shoe because it was rubbing up against the side of my foot. Had pretty decent success once I bought extra insoles, but sadly have to return this pair and try another one that doesn't have stitching or rivets rubbing up against my foot. Hopefully the next set is okay once I put my insoles in. Overall, I would have given the shoes a 4-star rating, but needing to buy extra insoles knocks it down a whole star.

I am shocked at the discrepancy in color of the shoe. Having ordered a pair of dark brown "crazy horse" leather shoes I was quite shocked to have received the most light-colored brown shoes I could have imagined. The color is nothing like that pictured in their provided information. This in itself made me give a one-star for style and misrepresentation. I don't know if this chicanery is Zappo's fault or Skechers's, but it is inexcusable.

I had two pairs of bootsalready and they wear out quickly. I wear maybe once or twice a week and in under three years are falling apart and water leaks in from the tread. I love this style but quality of Sketchers has gone down horrifically. When I was a teenager many tears ago I had a pair of boots that lasted 20 years. I now own 7 pair of Sketchers, My wife 5 pair and all 3 of our kids 2 to 3 pair. And all of them had terrible quality. We bought only Sketchers for years and years but now I am not sure. Please fix as we LOVE Sketchers.

These shoes are heavy. Fit was better than Skechers relaxed fit boots, but material was really quite stiff and would probably need lots of breakin. This stiffness around the top of Achilles and on the side of the ankle made it a deal breaker for me. I do not think I would be comfortable in these on a 3 mile walk around the lake. Cushion was not much better than a dress shoe.

I use the shoes for my everyday activities, which are in the office and around the house. Nothing too heavy duty. I am on my 4th pair now, and I've had the soles fall completely off of one pair (glue failed), and the insides wore out in the other pair after 2 months. The other 2 pairs have been great, and I wouldn't change a thing. Who knows?

I have bought these in the past and been pleased however this pair had a noticeable squeak with each step, one shoe especially.

I have a short, wide foot with a high arch that is difficult to find shoes for. the size I usually stay with is an 8 1/2 4E or 9 wide depending on the shoe so I envy all you folks with "normal" feet! I work in the Aviation industry on the maintenance side of things so my shoes are exposed to a plethora of fluids such as jet fuel, hydraulic fluid, oils, sealants, etc. and the soles must be able to tolerate this hash environment to which I have not had them long enough to determine their suitability as of yet but what I can say is that the sole on these boots are designed more for outdoor, non pavement activities due to their large lugs and heels(not sure why boots don't have more wedge design soles anyway) One problem I am running into is that it seems most manufactures feel the need to make the heel area wide as well which is not necessary for most of us that wear wide shoes!

I deliver propane. On a hard hose pull where I get on my toes and bend the ball of the foot hard the soles separate after a while. If not for this these would be a great work shoe.

I will be sending back this second pair of shoes I bought on the internet. I got a size 13 which was the size of my last shoe but way to big now, then got a 12 but only had narrow so they are to narrow now, i want to like these shoes because the ones I had before I wear them until they were dead but I just cant be that happy with these new ones yet.

As with other recent purchases of footwear I've made the rounded shoelaces that have replaced the flat ones comes loose and even untied at times. The shoe itself seems fine, but I've only had them a short while. I'll post again in 4 - 6 months.

Shoes appear to be made of pleather and run 1/2 size small. The inside tongue rubs annoying on my ankle and the heel is too wide.

Bought a pair of Mariners in size 12 which ended up being too big. Couldn't return because I wore them to work and got metal chips in the bottom. So I figured I'd try these out in 11.5. They came fit fine to wear around the house. Wore them to work the next day they just hurt and are still too big .

The shoes caused irritation to my feet and caused blister. Not very comfortable. Since they were supposed to be for hiking, I could not keep them. I returned them and got my money back. Really disappointed.

I recommend against purchasing shoes online. I bought this same style of shoes in a store 10 years ago and I loved them. This pair I bought feels like it's made of lighter material, we'll see how long they last. The shoes look quite nice and generally fit well. However, the left shoe kinks in the wrong spot when I walk thus digging into the top of my pinky toe. Had I tried these on in a store, I would have found this out and could choose a different set. I'll reserve judgement on price, as I've only had the shoes a few weeks. In conclusion, best to try shoes on before purchasing.

I really liked these shoes. They fit well and were very comfortable.I've been having trouble finding work shoes I like, and I thought I finally found The answer. But then...7 days after I recieved them in the mail,"I ordered online as there is no stores in our city" I looked down and saw a hole the size of a nickle on the toe where the seam is. The thread didnt break , it was the leather that was torn. The leather seemed to be very thin, and soft. As I was going to make a trip to the other side of our state anyway, I looked up the address of one of the factory outlet stores. I then returned them. Exchange was not possible as they did not stock this kind of shoe. I then purchased another style of shoe that they did have in stock, "Tom cats" They seem rugged enough. After I returned home I looked up reviews on this shoe "Mariners" and see that recently other people have had problems with thinner or less durable leather on these shoes. I hope the manufacturer is not starting to use lesser quality materials in a cost cutting move. It would be a shame if This brand ended up like all the rest of the "less thann quality" brands.
