This is my second review of this boot. I'm writing this one after wearing them for a few weeks. They are quite large for the size. I wear 10 1/2 EE. These fit pretty loosely at first, and after several 10 minute walks to break them in, they fit a lot more loosely. The leather is quite stiff when new, so they chafe the ankles, which actually got worse as they broke in because of the looser fit. I was going to put some odor eaters in them when I noticed there is no insole at all in these boots. Every other shoe I've bought (sneaker, boot, whatever) has had removable insoles, but not these. I wonder if they forgot to install them from the factory? That would explain the loose fit. I installed some aftermarket insoles which helped the fit tremendously, but these still need a good bit of breaking in because of the stiff leather.

I usually wear 10 1/2 EE. These shoes were quite roomy when new, I expect them to fit even more loosely when they are broken in. I have worn them on three short walks so far. The leather is quite stiff and will require some breaking in before I wear them on a day-long hike. After they are broken in I will add double-thick odor eaters. But for the price ($50 at Zappos) I am pretty tickled with them.

A good shoe for $50. Had to add insoles to make comfortable.

Boots are true to size and very comfortable, I feel these boots are a good value and seem to be well made.

Great shoes at a great price- well made, handsomely designed, a bit on the heavy side but sure feels solid and tough enough for the Pacific Northwest. Too bad I only have two feet...

These boots run a half size larger. If you're size 11, get size 10.5. Very stiff soles, about an inch thick at the ball of the foot and 1.75 inches thick at the heel. Not much cushioning, soles are adequate but since they don't cover the ankle, any movement of the boot during use can result in chafing. Real leather, the tongue is a synthetic material, but the rest is real leather and can be waterproofed with mink oil. The toe has good reinforcement, as well as the heel, but can be prone to scuffs and marks quite easily. It's a good looking boot, good for the money, I don't really can say anything about durability (i bought them a week ago) but hopefully they will hold up over the years.

The top part of the shoe is hard in the beginning. It needs some breaking in. The shoe feels overall rigid. It looks heavy-duty and tough.

Comfortable shoes, good for office casual wear also.
