I’ve never worn Birkenstocks but as I head toward 70, I thought it was time to give them a try. I’m glad others have good luck with them, but they are NOT for me. The leather is stiff, stiff, stiff and the underside of the straps that is fought and uncomfortable. Seems like the quality of this brand has gone downhill.

SUPERIOR arch support. The leather rubbing the top of my toes raw...not so much. Returning.

This is very stiff and rubs on my foot. Must return.

I overall loved the shoe. It is very comfortable. I read all of the reviews before I picked out my size. Many people were recommending going a size smaller and getting a narrow. I did not get a narrow, but I did size down a bit. My normal size is a 10.5 to 11 and I purchased the size 41 initially which is a 10 to 10.5. The shoe fit but when I walked my toes would catch the front lip. The regular width was perfect and doesn’t crunch my pinkie toe. I sent back the 41 and got the 42 and it was perfect. Zappos makes exchanges very easy! Thank you!

I'm having issues with my feet and was told to try Birkenstock. I thought the shoe was great . Not a good fit for my feet. Zappos is terrific. Iam about to try another style shoe. Thank You. Have a wonderful day.

I bought the tobacco brown. The color is not as pictured. They are a lot lighter in person. They almost look like the khaki color. Not the look I was going for. I usually wear a size 8-1/2 regular width. I bought the size 39 narrow. They fit but I think I will size up on my next pair and possibly go with the regular width.

I have a thinner foot, and with these being unisex, they were far too wide. The leather was nice but very stiff. I ended up returning them for a women’s narrow stye with suede straps. I am much happier with them.

So I followed a lot of the reviews and ordered a size down (size 8 women’s and ordered the 38 narrow. It fit snugly, but from what I read there should be some space between the ends of the shoes and front and back of foot. I could feel my big toe rubbing on the edge ridges as I walked. I would have exchanged for a 39N to try that out but they did not have it available in the color I wanted. These are way too expensive not to get the color you want!

The size was TTS, but the style is lacking. As far as comfort they seemed okay, but they have grooves in the foot bed. Some may like this feature. I found it uncomfortable so sent the sandals back.

I ordered a narrow width. The first pair that came dyed my feet dark for 2 weeks. But they fit perfectly. So I returned them & was sent supposedly an identical pair. This pair is too wide. I had my husband drill extra holes, but they are not as comfortable as other pairs I have owned.

alll is fine, but the soft footbed is a waste of money

Much smaller than anticipated.

The style of this shoe is not suitable for feet with bunions. The strap is too loose on the bigger size with the proper width, leaving no additional holes for tightening. The width is too narrow with the smaller size, cutting into the bunion. I could not find a best fit.

I am not as happy in these Birkenstocks as I am in another pair I purchased, exactly the same style, only in black. The left sandal in this pair has caused me blisters at the base of the middle toe and are aggravating to wear with any sense of comfort. I have been left with having to wear a protective pad in that shoe so that I can walk in them without much discomfort. But still I am not pleased at all.

The front strap was too far forward and I think I'm allergic to oiled leather

The bottom of my right foot hurts if the shoes footbed is not very foamy. The footbed on this sandal is not comfortable at all for my foot. Also, I have flat feet and the arch hurt my foot so bad that I could not wear them for more than 5 minutes. I read reviews where people say that it takes time for the sandal to get comfortable, but I know that it would never be comfortable for me. I purchased the Birkenstock Women's Arizona Essentials EVA Sandals from another source and they are much more comfortable. They are not leather though.

To uncomfortable for me. For that price I expected more.

Too narrow in the toe area for me. The Florida and women’s Arizona birks seem more generous in the toe box. Sadly, these will be going back.

For someone that has always had a wide foot, I was quite surprised at the amount of extra space in the width of this sandal. It was so big, even with the strap on the last hole, that when raising my foot, there was ample space between the foot bed and the bottom of my foot.

I don't know if it was my imagination or not, but these were just too big even with the straps as tight as possible. Maybe the unisex ones are actually bigger? Anyway--they went back. Love all my other Birks though!

True to size, I am between women's size 10-10.5 in most all shoes so the 41 fits well. The is my second pair of Birkenstock Arizona (Soft Foot Bed) but these from Zappos don't feel like the foot bed is soft at all compared to my other pair that I bought in person at a shoe store. I also compared to another pair and just not the same. These feel like the regular foot bed kind, just too hard for my bony feet... Planning on returning, zappos return policy makes it easy.

So sad. I have been wanting some Birkenstock’s for years, since I was a teen a couple decades ago. I finally purchased them this week to find that, in the correct size for my foot, the front of the sandal angles too sharply from big to little toes and leaves my middle toe up on the lip of the sole. It’s definitely raised and very uncomfortable every time I step. There is no working into that. The rest of my toes were happy and comfortable. As well as the rest of my foot. But I can’t have any part of my foot irritated, and therefore must sadly send them back and hope someone makes comfy sandals like these with a more square toe area for my Roman foot shape. Thank you Zappos for having such great customer service! Always 6 out of 5 stars!

Was way to large and long for a 43. Needed to return for a smaller size.

Runs really big. I usually wear 6 but I am 4 on Birkenstock. Do not order wide size unless you have really wide feet. Excellent service from Zappos and easy to return, thank you!

Problem with my special order, is that they sent me the wrong size, 2 sizes too big. Doesn't anyone read the labels? So I had to return, someone got my size and now I had to special order again.
