I ordered 1/2 size larger than my regular 8.5 as per the reviews... was too small. ordered a full size larger... same issue. Suggested fit is to allow a finger between the edge and foot and I guess I'm going to order the size 41/us ladies 10-10.5... haha one weird note.. when I ordered the size 39 the shoes came in a non-branded box and had some scratches. The second pair arrived in proper Berkenstock box and packaged really well as no one has ever opened the box before..

These are very stylish sandals you can wear during the warmer seasons of the year. The Soft foodbed is really comfortable. It does take some breaking into when you first wear it a few times. I purchased the size 42 N. I got a narrow and even went a half size down from my normal shoe size of 10 in US men. Pretty versatile sandals, but would not recommend wearing them for longer walks or hikes.

I was upset when my birkenstocks arrived with a very deep and large scratch on one of the shoes. I mean, how new could they be if the were handled enough to acquire such a significant scratch? I did have to sand the straps a bit to keep the rough edges them from hurting the tops of my feet but since then, theyve felt very nice. As someone with wide feet I was expecting to use some of the outer buckle holes for a looser fit, but I'm using the second buckle from the tightest and its still roomy. This surprised me. Aside from this these a great shoe! First time having a pair and I'm pretty happy.

This is my second pair of Arizona's with the soft footbed. These are comfortable but do not feel as soft as my first pair (purchased 2 years ago) so I wonder if they cut back on the cushion material. Generally Birkenstock run's big. I normally wear a size 9 US. These are a 39 which is supposed to be between 8.5 and 9 but these are labeled as 8-8.5. I'm happy with my purchase but just be aware of sizing.

Still breaking them in, but so far so good. I typically a 8.5-9 and the 39 fit great!

This is gonna sound crasy, but,I had a pair many years gone by, every time I took a step, it would make a sound of ...flatulence...has this product gotten wider in the heel?thats where my dilemma lays..I dig Birkenstock’s, I work in kitchen birkis,I’m tired of buying cheap shoes..

I wear an 11 in sneakers and 8.5 in Birkenstock. ????

Zappos is amazing! customer service is top notch! Had an issue with a defect in my Birks and they helped me out with an exchange. I initially called Birkenstock directly and they told me to talk to Zappos. Anyway, love the sandals and really appreciate the way they helped me out.

I Really wanted to love them. Second attempt at this style, this time with the soft bed, and a better size for me. I tried wearing gently around the house, but there was a disconcerting squelch when stepping, but the deal breaker was where the strap's upper portion hit my foot. It just didn't seem like it would ever feel comfortable. Maybe at some point, now that I know the correct size for me, I'll try again, with the original footbed, and suede.

Originally ordered size 37 but it was too big, even though in other companies I am a size 37. Size 36 owners well, a lot of arch support, almost to the point of hurting ??. Popular style, will last a long time (so I’ve heard), and the straps are adjustable.

My normal shoe size is 9W But based on reviews, I ordered men's size 8-8 1/2 regular and both size and width were a perfect fit.

I love these shoes but the leather is a bit stiff and rubbed my skin so I exchanged them for the suede. The suede is very soft and comfy!

So I purchased my first ever pair of Birkenstock’s based on dozens of reviews and various blogs about the incredible support and comfort of Birkenstock’s ! I am a huge believer in reviews . I wanted a stylish comfortable and supportive sandal and it seemed that Birkenstock’s could be the answer. Now I couldn’t ignore the thousands of reviews that also warned me that Birkenstock’s require a definite breaking in period. Oh boy, that is the truth!! I’ve actually been calling this my Torture Shoe because they hurt my feet like crazy. I guess the worse your feet (i.e. poor shoe choices for years) the longer and harder the breaking in period. Many blogs stressed not to give up because the end result would be worth it. Well, I’m still in the breaking in period but I haven’t stuck to the wearing them every day theory because we went on a trip and I knew better than to take them at this point. But I do see the light st the end of the tunnel! I can start to see my footprint on the footbed which is supposed to be an indicator of the end of the breaking in period and they are starting to feel slightly more comfortable. I sure am hoping I’ll have o e of the success stories!

I have worn Birkenstock sandals for thirty years. The leather on these is so stiff I know it would rub sores in the tops of my feet, so I must return them. I will order more Birks but not these.

These were really cute and the fit was good, but my problem feet need something soft ewe will require breaking in not only the foot beds, as do all Birks, but the leather as well. Too stiff on my troubled feet. Opted for the suede instead. Really did love the blue, so if you can swing the break in these would be great sandals!

The fit seems true, but I did order the Narrow, when I’m usually a medium width. The leather is stiff right now & my foot feels a bit sore on the outside edge after wearing for a few hours- I’m hoping after a break in period, that will not persist. These are my first Arizona’s...

I ordered the black amalifi and the leather was too stiff. My feet are super sensative so I feel it might take forever to break in the leather. Maybe the oiled leather or suede would be a better fit for me. Zappos is wonderful-it takes me several orders to finally find a shoe that works. Thank you Zappos!

The fit was great but the color wasn’t as pictured online. Shoe was a super dark brown & not distressed at all like the iron ones were. The box was labeled correctly so not sure what happed there. Unsure if I’ll try and exchange or not. The color I ordered was Tobacco.

I usually wear a 10.5 U.S. I bought this size (43) and a size 42 in another order. Length wise, the 43 is a half size to a full size longer than my foot - the 42 was about a half size longer, if that; however, with the arch supports I found that the 43 fit better with my foot compared to the 42. My toes would've been hanging over the edge of the 42 if I shifted where the arch support was to the "correct" spot on my foot". Also, width wise, the 42 felt a little tight with the regular width and the 43 was just right using the "regular" width. I typically where a wide size when it comes to dress shoes so I think the regular width is the better option for people with wide feet. The soft footbed makes all the difference in comfort, in my opinion. I had bought a pair of similar Arizona's from DSW several years ago that didn't have the soft footbed (I didn't know it was an option) and they were just hard. They actually hurt my feet whereas these feel good - like they will hug your foot shape over time. The style speaks for itself, obviously.

After reading reviews, I opted to go with the narrow width (I'm a size 5.5 in sandals); it was definitely the right decision, as well as choosing the soft footbed. While these are definitely cute, I decided to return them as a pair in the brown Amalfi leather became available, which was my first choice. I would certainly have been happy with these as well. As I didn't get the chance to actually wear them, I can't speak completely to the comfort, but they weren't uncomfortable at least and seemed like they would eventually feel as good as they are purported to!

I love these shoes! They are very comfortable and versatile. They go with almost everything! They do tend to get kind of stinky after awhile.

Already commented on my ordering Birkenstock Arizona and think the footbed feels excellent under my arches, but the problem for me has been the sizing. I am between sizes. Following Birkenstock’s fitting advice and template online does not give me my correct size. They recommend going up if one is between sizes, however I read several reviewers where they have said to go down. Trying to get the arch, toes and heel in correct positions while having it all feel good underfoot and not be too loose or tight is not so evident. That said, I really think they provide unparalleled, off the rack foot support. If there is a store which carries Birks it would be to someone’s avantage, including mine, to get a proper fitting. I appreciate Zappos’ fast and free service and especially their return service!
