My feet aren’t used to a sandal without an ankle strap, so I’m still breaking these in. They’re a great, easily slip on!

This is my first pair where I size up, I used to wear Size 38 Narrow since im a size 7-7.5 in other brands, the heel fit perfect but my toes hit the edge of the sandal, some people don’t mind that but I did, so I went one size up to a 39Narrow, it’s way more comfortable, I have extra space in the heel area, not so fashionable but Birks are supposed to be comfortable. In the pictures you can see the difference between the two sizes, black is 38N (left foot), brown is 39N (right foot). I’m standing up in all the photos.

I loved the neutral "iron" color and soft footbed, but Birkenstock's unisex sizing is far different from their women's sizing. I typically wear a 6.5 in US sizes and a 36 in Birkenstocks (women's). These felt a full size too long and were also much too wide. Sad to return them, but a 35 narrow isn't currently available.

Birkenstock’s are comfortable, no matter what, thanks to the footbed. I personally am not a huge fan of the Arizona style, but the Amalfi leather is beautiful so I’m keeping them. I also think this style runs big so I needed to exchange for a smaller size. As always, Zappos customer service was top notch.

I managed to hold out for decades, but I finally acquiesced and bought Birkenstocks! They aren’t as ugly as I used to think they were. In fact they’re kinda cute. My husband even said they were cute—unprompted. I bought the navy—great color to go with jeans. They do take some getting used to, as the soles are flat and don’t give much as you walk. I hope I end up loving them. Fingers crossed.

I liked the shoes, but cleaning them was an issue.

I bought a narrow pair of Birkenstock’s that fit me like a glove and wore them every day in lock down, so I needed a new pair because the cork is tearing at one of the straps. This new unisex pair has a much more comfortable, soft footbed, but they are a bit wide for my medium feminine feet. What I don’t like is how scratchy and tough the leather is on them. Not soft like my other pairs. I have worn them twice and gotten blisters where the straps rub against my skin, which has never happened with any other pair of Birks I’ve owned (and there’s been many). I absolutely love this color so much that I’m keeping them, but they may be ones I can only wear in the winter with socks.

Color (tobacco) does NOT match pictures like at all. But I’m happy with the color anyway. The leather is REALLY stiff, thick, and hard. I own a lot of real leather shoes and I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s not bad, just an observation. I’m a size 7.5- I ordered an 8/38. Fits really well. They are slightly wide (I don’t have narrow feet) but in a comfortable way. I found them comfy right out of the box and not hard to break in.

Very happy with the look and fit. Exactly what my husband wanted. He's been wearing them progressively...a couple hours at a time as that is what we were advised.

I am a woman’s 9 and find that 39s are a tad small and 40s are slightly big. Also, I searched high and low trying to find accurate pics of the tobacco color. it seems some are more of a light tan/off white with no distressing and others are more of a rustic brown with distressing. I suggest if that’s the color you want that you go to a store and look through the boxes to get the color you’re looking for or to order multiples and send back what you don’t like.

I haven't worn sandals of any kind in a long time. Bad feet, long story. I needed some and they needed to be flats, so I order Birkenstock Arizona. I ordered the soft padding. So far, I have worn them at home with socks, acclimating my feet to them. So far, they are comfortable and are losing some of the stiffness common to new shoes. They fit fine. The footbed is soft, but the arch support and other support places are rather hard, to me. It will take some getting used to wearing these, but I do think they will be a comfortable option later and will last a long time.

Having never worn Birkenstocks before, I ordered both the medium and narrow widths. I don't normally wear a wide width shoe, but I'm done with shoes that are too narrow and pinch my feet. As the previous reviews stated, the narrow actually worked out better for me and the wider width was just to loose. I would have had to pull the straps all the way to the tightest fitting which left the extra straps flapping on the edges. I don't think these are the absolutely most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, but I'm willing to give them time to fit to my feet. Overall I'm really happy.

I really want to have a pair of Birkenstock sandals but I have a rigid flat foot and they are simply too uncomfortable to wear. If you need arch support, I highly recommend these sandal. They look awesome. I have many friends that wear them and swear by them. A good sandal investment for the long run.

These Birks fit great, and I like that the foot bed has some cushioning. My only complaint is that the leather straps are really stiff--but even worse, the edges of the straps are a little sharper than I expected, so I'm irritating the tops of feet and toes on the places where the straps are rubbing--and I'm only wearing the sandals for short periods of time now until the straps get softer and break in---otherwise, I'm sure I'd get blisters. I'm a little disappointed that the straps weren't a little softer right out the box. I'm sure they will be fine when they break in.

Unlike the old days, these take some getting used to. The straps are hard at the beginning and need to be broken in. Otherwise, they are classic Birkenstocks, absolutely wonderful.

Love the shoes but they are NOT black. They are more of a charcoal color.

I typically wear 8.5 or 9. I read reviews and most reviewers said that sandals run big so I got 8/8.5 narrow. It was too small so exchanged for a larger size. There are instructions on how to measure your feet on Birkenstock site which I found after I ordered. You use a piece of paper and a pencil find correct width and length. I am right on the edge between sizes. I hope the next size of 9/9.5 are not too big.

I have horrible flat feet. I had Birkenstock’s 20 years ago and loved them. But today my feet have changed and just putting them on almost killed me. The shoes are very high in the arch on the inside of the foot and dug into my foot so much it was impossible to walk. These are good for you people with normal feet, but I unfortunately, not me.

My wife has raved about these sandals for years, and so I finally ordered a pair. The fit was good, and the arch support great. I see why people love these; however the straps on this particular pair were stiff can cut into my feet at the base of the toes. I will return these and look for a pair with softer straps.

I have narrow feet. So I thought, "Hey! Maybe I should order narrow shoes...". I was wrong. I suppose that when they say narrow, they really mean it. So because of a great return policy, I got a pair of Birks that fit really well and look nice. Though the shoes are a little on the $$! side, they will last a long long time.

I purchased my normal size, 39 (8½), but in the narrow width. I was afraid that since they were unisex that the reg/wide would be too sloppy. They turned out to be too narrow and the outer ridge support was hitting my foot wrong and was making me pronate. (ankles leaning in towards each other). Sent them back tho with no hassles. Love Zappos for that!

The sides of the foot hang off on the narrow unless you have a very narrow foot. Your foot should sit on the entire bed. If not get the regular BUT on the regular you will have to put extra hole for strap

The tobacco color was much lighter than I expected and these will unfortunately be going back because of that. The pictures on the Birkenstock website showed a much truer version of the color. I also didn't notice any difference with the soft footbed vs. a regular footbed so I don't think it's worth the extra money. Otherwise, I love the Arizona style and Birks in general.

Like the style but I prefer the original Birkenstock footbed. This newer soft footbed is taking forever to mold to my feet. I wanted the leather and not the synthetic leather because I want these to last for years BUT the leather straps are extremely hard so I rub the straps every day to try to soften it up. This is the break in period and hopefully these will feel like a dream.
