Great pair of boots - The day I received my Clark dessert boot will be a day I will never forgot. Imagine pulling these boots on and as soon as you do everyone in the area thinks you look great. Girls coming up to you wanting to meet you because you have these boots on. Married ladies wanting to leave there families because the draw of these boots are so strong. Wear them to work and they will promote you because you look to good to be working behind a desk hiding those boots. Your life will change so buy them.

Protection - These boots are great but be sure to put on some sort of suede protection or stain repellent. They mark very easily.

A bit narrow - It’s really a great shoe for spring. Its light and a true classic. You really have to use some suede protectant on it though, because it would be pretty easy to get coffee stains on this thing. It’s somewhat narrow for the length that I needed. Absolutely no arch support and the sole gets gummed up pretty easily. For the price it is quite worth it. I may just buy myself another pair before the summer is over for next spring.

AMAZING! Finally found the boot I have been looking for! Extremely comfortable and light weight, with a simple classic look. Can't go wrong with this gem.

Just like the old days - About 50 years ago I had a pair of Clark’s and loved them. Recently I had a nostalgia attack so I searched locally for another pair. No success. "googled" Clarks and Zappos came up. Phoned Zappos and-amazing-a real person answered the phone. I ordered the desert boots and -wow- next day there they were. Perfect look perfect fit. Just like the old days. Thanks Zappos.

A Classic Returns (to my closet) It's been many years (more like decades) since I have worn these wonderful shoes. When I opened the boxes (I bought two pair) it was like seeing a much-loved old friend after a long absence. Why had I not pursued them instead of settling for something else? They look no different, but I'm sure Clark's would tell me otherwise. The fit seems the same. But let me walk a few more miles to get them broken in, which is when they are at their best. The one caveat (and it's minor) would be for more overall support, especially the arch. But that may just be my age talking. Good show, Clark's. And good show, Zappos; they were delivered 25 hours after my online order.

Outstanding Order - I was very impressed as a first time shopper on your site. I was able to adequately track where my item was, what time it would arrive etc. The product was just as I had hoped it would be. I used to wear shoes like this in high school and loved them. Desert boots still a classic - These shoes are just as I remember, easy to slip into and comfortable. Not a hiking boot, but fine for kicking around.

Comfortable Shoes - I have worn desert boots for the last thirty years. They are very comfortable and go with just about anything you wear. There are other brands that sell a desert boot but Clark's quality surpasses them. Trust me.....I've tried them all. These are worth the price.

Comfort and retro style all in one. I had been looking for this style for a while as I had worn the Hush Puppies and the Thom McCann versions (usually made in Spain) back in the seventies. Looks killer with denim and corduroy. The Clarks Desert Boot is well made as far as the materials, the stitching, and the glue work. The cushioning is less than some dress shoes made by Clarks or Rockport. Thick, hiking style socks help as I don't like inserts. By the way, I use 9.5 medium in Adidas running shoes, and my size in the Clarks Desert Boot is 8.5 medium. I also use 8.5 medium in Timberland and Frye boots.

Happy Customer - A couple years ago, my husband and I had to drive all over looking for this particular shoe, which he loves. I was so happy to find it on line, as a trip to the mall is not our favorite thing to do. You were very helpful when I made my first attempt to order on line and I thank you for that.

Good looking shoe - I went with a previous reviewer's suggestion to use Dr. Scholl's type gel pads, which were great. I also had to use a band aid at the back of each of my heels to prevent chafing. Also be sure to spray scotchguard to protect against rain. Other than that, I love the look and very much enjoy the shoes. Like many other reviewers, I wore these shoes from middle school through college, and until I went to Zappos I could not find them.

GIFT FOR DAD - I purchased the boots for my dad who is 88. He remembered the extreme comfort of these Desert Boots from years ago, and wanted another pair. They were just as he remembered, and the only complaint was, a little tightness in the toe. Overall he was very pleased. As for myself, I have never experienced such FAST service and shipping, with NO shipping charges! This will be my shoe shopping place from now on. THANKS!

Classic - Great shoe. I say that if you're going to wear a desert boot, wear the original. Felt just a tad stiff across the arch but broke in just fine. Looks great with jeans. Am pleased with the quality from Clarks as well as Zappos!

Still laid back. After seeing the number of reviews, there is truly is a great Desert Boot army out there, cool. I am 55 years old and have been wearing them since 1964. They are a great comfortable shoe and they have always looked good with Levis jeans and those old Levis cord jeans of the same color. Old school, no khakis. The last pair I bought did not have the soft leather lining on the interiors. I miss that. The old interior covered the sides, toe box, tongue, everything. I wish you guys could bring that concept back. But, you still make a great shoe that is timeless. There are no other shoes like them. You can see and feel the youth in them. Hi Ho, keep on truck ‘in. Great looking, need wide widths - I always wanted a pair of these ever since I was in grammar school in the sixties; my parents wouldn't hear of it. Dress codes, dress codes, all the way through high school. In college, I had wallabees and desert treks, but never a pair of desert boots. Finally, this year, I bought a pair. I'm a size 11 wide, and they fit front to back right out of the box, but they were really tight around the balls of my feet and my instep, and wearing them two days straight didn't break them in; my feet actually hurt! I took them to a shoe repair shop to be stretched, and that did the trick. They're now incredibly comfortable and look great. I can walk all day in them, and wet-pavement traction hasn't been a problem.

Fit of desert boot - The desert boot is a great boot, but the medium size is misleading. The boot is very narrow in the mid-foot area and wide in the heel. Never had this problem with other Clark shoes

Yard man Clarks - Clarks are the most comfortable boots man has ever created for foot wear. I have been wearing Clarks Desert Boots and Shoes for the last 40 yrs, and will not trade my Clarks for anything. There’s no boots that are dressier, comfortable, it is a boot that gives you walking balance, and it caresses your feet and brings surety to one's steps. I love my Clarks. I buy Clarks and take them home for three special buddies. We have been wearing Clarks for years. I remember my first pair of Clarks. I was about fifteen years old at that time. I was working at the Local Post Office…Since then; I probably bought and reallocated many many pairs of Clarks. I presently own about 10 pairs of Clarks.

Retro look - Most of us who grew up in the 1960s and 1970s had a pair of Clarks Desert Boots. They were comfortable and a nice look. It's time to get a pair again!

Harking back to High School. These shoes are great. They are exactly what I have wanted since I was in high school. They fit perfectly. They are the right color. Initially the size I ordered was too small. I sent them back and within a few days I had the correct size. Everything and everyone was very professional. I look forward to doing more business with Zappos. In fact I notice the Desert Boots also come in a dark brown. Thank You.

Knight order - I used to wear these desert boots when lived in Libya and was with the British Army. They're, cool, comfortable, wear well and can be worn with jeans or dress up trousers. A great shoe.

Best Desert Boot Ever - I have had 5 pairs over the past 4 years. I love 'em. Just about all I wear.

Classic shoe- This boot is a classic. Brought me back to the early '70's. Fit and feel are great. Not much support but a smooth enveloping. Gum sole is very comfortable too. It does show dirt at the bottom edge due to the light color of the sole.

Retro has never left!! Had them in high school, had them in college. Loved them back 30 years ago, still the same great look and comfort. Can't get much better than that.
