A great boot, my second pair. It’s glove-soft right out of the box, no break-in whatsoever. Looks great with jeans or can be worn with slacks for a casual dress look (think Steve McQueen in Bullitt). I ordered my usual size and they fit great, nice room at the toe area, yet no heel slip. Wore these as a young lad, fun to wear them again almost every day (when not in shorts!). Not recommended as a work/hike boot at all as they are not constructed for that, but a great everyday casual, light trek type shoe. Give ‘em a try.

Great boots for when you need to dress up but not too much - These boots are perfect for situations where sneakers are too casual but you don't want to put on a pair of wingtips either. For example, a dinner party. These boots, like all Clarks Desert, run 1/2 size big so size down. Also, the toe box is pretty narrow while the area around the heel/ankle is wider than expected. It's an odd fit for a bit til it loosens up. You just have to make sure you lace it tight. Also, what socks are you supposed to wear with these boots? Huge mystery.

Back again - Back in the late 60's and early 70's the Desert Boot was my shoe of choice. As a soldier, I wore jump boots/jungle boots all day. My Desert Boots were a welcome change off duty. As I moved around the country and overseas, they became hard to find, and eventually impossible. While shopping with my granddaughter recently she pointed out Clark's Wallabies - her favorite shoe. I inquired of the store clerk about Desert Boots and received a blank stare. Remembering I had bought some "Cute Rain Boots" (a local teenage favorite) for my granddaughter from Zappos I checked the website and was delighted to find my old favorite Desert Boots. Response was fantastic. My order was acknowledged within 2 hours (on a Saturday) and the shoes arrived promptly several days later. They are as comfortable as I remembered and my wife thinks they look great. I will undoubtedly wear them out in due time and will order another pair from Zappos.

Just like the Brits! I wore Clarks Desert Boots when I was in college and law school some forty years ago. I am now wearing them again -- thanks to Zappos. They are as comfortable as ever.

Old School Classic - There's a reason these have been around for 50+ years. They're light, soft and wear like a moccasin -- kind of unstructured, with a basically flat insole. The soft crepe soles are squishy and quiet. You kind of grow into 'em, and once you do you'll wear them everywhere. They're really stylish, especially for summer: rock them with a light suit or white jeans, and they're one of the few boots you can wear with shorts and still look cool. I give them five stars for enduring cool factor and timeless simplicity.

Perfect! I love these boots. Even though they don't have great arch support, they are still pretty damn comfortable. I wear an 11 1/2 and they fit perfectly. They have a great old-school and understated look that goes great with jeans or khakis. I sprayed mine with a good rain and stain protector before I wore them and that seems to keep them pretty well protected. I highly recommend that you buy this boot. You'll love 'em too.

A true classic by all definitions - I bought a pair in late 1981 - that's during the first Reagan Administration. I've resoled them a couple of times but I STILL use them. Nuff said.

Great shoes - check the fit - Hello - love my Clarks BUT these seem to run big for me. Usually get 10 should have got 9.5. Still - I've been wearing them for about 2 weeks and finally found an insole that feels great in them - not so floppy now. Bout to get a pair of Desert Trek and will order half size down. These really loosened up on me. Oh well - will just have to wear em out and get another pair. As for ZAPPOS - GREAT SERVICE and SO FAST. REALLY FAST!!! AWESOME!

These fit like foot-gloves and look super snappy -snap. But watch out shoppers! They are slippery as all hell in the ice and rain, and god forbid you step in oil. NY streets are a minefield in them, but when you look like a million bucks you can forgo street safety. A shoe for the stout hearted who like their pede-comfort to come with an English accent.

Worth the money! Never bought a pair of shoes on-line, but with your excellent sales add, no tax, super speedy free delivery with the possibility of returning same at no cost! EXCELLENT! I won't go anymore into a shoe store! Paul

Excellent - I bought a pair of these in the eighties and had them for 15 years before I left them at a job that I quit. I only had to change the laces a few times. The color and stitching have been updated slightly on the new pair but they are as awesome as my previous pair. Not for rainy weather!

Clarks Desert Boots - I'm very pleased with the Clarks Desert Boots I recently purchased. I'm beginning to wear them more often than not! They are very comfortable, look great and go well with casual clothes. I'm also very pleased with the ordering convenience and quick delivery which Zappos provides.

Zappos did it again! My first pair of Desert boots from Clarks and man am I glad I finally got em. Great looking and got compliments the first time wearing them. And told them where to get them. I am a long time Zappos customer and will be for a long time to come. These boots are great looking with jeans. My women friends love the retro clean look. And my guy friends already want a pair. Thanks again Zappos.

Clarks Desert Boot - Liked them in high school in the 70's so I was surprised I could still get them 40 years later. Zappos is greatest when it comes to service. The first pair I bought were too big so when I noticed they only had one pair of the size I wanted, I called customer service immediately. Not only did Zappos secure the last pair for me, they sent them out overnight at no extra charge. And get this, BEFORE (!!) I had even packaged my return. I'll never buy shoes anywhere else but Zappos.

GREAT SHOE!! I've worn this style shoe since 1970. I'm on pair #4 now that I just received from Zappos. This is a great shoe that feels soo comfortable. They go great with jeans or any casual cords/slacks. The upper suede leather forms to your foot making it perfect. Although primarily for warm weather wear, I wear mine year 'round.

Traditional comfort - Like wearing socks with soft soles. I've been wearing this Clark Boot since 1954… before they began putting the toe support into the style. I still love 'em and obviously I still buy them. I don't require an arch support, so if you do, you might re-think these. However, if you don't require an arch support type last, this is really nice to wear. I wear them with Levis, slacks, and a sport coat, etc.

Amazing shoes amazing service - The Clark Desert boots are incredibly comfortable and well worth the hype. They are study and well built. They do run a little large so I suggest going down half a size, or sticking with whatever your converse size is. Unfortunately I live in an area known for how much it rains so I don't get to wear them much.

Bobby's review of Clarks desert Boots - This is probably the fourth pair of desert boots that I have owned. They are getting more difficult to find, but they are the most comfortable casual shoe that you will ever wear. I checked Zappos one day just to see if they carried them and to my surprise the carried and had a full range of sizes. While I have only used Zappos twice, the service and satisfaction policy is unparallel. Not only am I delighted with my boots I am also delighted with Zappos.

Got them for my husband for Christmas. He wore them in the 60's and 70's. He was very pleased to see them again and has had a lot of compliments on the retro look. He wears an 11.5 but I ordered a 12 since they did not come in a wider width on the Zappos website.

Recent Purchase - Only 1 compliant about the boots, the sole gets dirty and it turns black after wearing it just once. 100% satisfaction otherwise. Shipping is also super fast; I placed the order at 11 pm and received it next day in the afternoon.

Best Shoe Ever Made! I’ve been wearing the Desert Boot for years now and I love them. As far as comfort, there is no comparison. When it comes to style, rock them with jeans for an awesome look. They do dirty quickly, though, so I by a pair about every year just to keep them fresh.

Clarks Desert boot rocks - Awesome look goes with anything dress up or dressed down, even very cool with long plaid Bermudas, I’m rocking this look...be careful with wearing on rainy days or getting em wet, water stains suck on suede.

Yep. They still make them! - I wanted a pair of Clarks Desert Boots almost 40 years ago and didn't realize that they were still in business until I discovered Zappos. Immediately I put my order in and had them the very next day and they were all that I expected them to be. Extremely comfortable, fit like a dream, and still look as good as ever. I've had several friends comment about them wondering where I got them as they too didn't know they were still available. Well done.
