I needed something with much more structure and sturdiness for walking. I actually use these inside the house instead of slippers which are no more supportive than socks. Something is very weird and uncomfortable about the insole that I can't get used to. When wearing socks (which I always do), the inside of the shoe bunches up the toe of the sock so it's uncomfortable. I tried it bare foot and that feeling isn't there so I replaced the insole with a different one and the problem is still there. I've never had this problem with other shoes.

The narrow width was great but the shoe feels short

I'm returning these. Easy Spirit seems to have problems getting their size consistent. The last pair I ordered was a little large, but not unusable. This pair is too small to use. I ordered the same size, and the same model.

Nowhere near the fit and comfort of my older (walking style) Easy Spirit shoes. These are overly padded around the ankle and under the tongue and seriously lacking padding and arch support under the foot. ?? Designers, get a clue! The removable insole is the thickness of tablet cardboard. There was so much ankle collar padding I could not tie the shoe snugly enough to secure the heel. Sadly I bought two pair at once, different colors and different outer material - but same disappointing fit. I doubt I will be able to buy Easy Spirit again. First try was Saucony and it was even worse. Too much emphasis on LOOKS and zero on fit. Back New Balance I guess. My feet are 74 years old, and loved the arch and padding in the E.S. walking shoes I will have to keep.

These are beige, not gray. Very sad that there aren't fun colors for extra wide feet.

Not sure yet. Footbed is flat!

Not worth it.

I purchased my regular medium length and they were quite wide. The heels slipped even wearing a thick sock. They also were not attractive on my feet. They made my feet look big and fat. They did appear to be of good quality, were lightweight, and the leather soft.

Unfortunately these shoes did not work for me. I ordered my usual 9W but my heels kept coming out of the sneakers when I tried to walk in them. Sadly, I had to return them. I had hoped they would work for me but they did not.

I wanted to like them, but the medium was just too wide and my foot moved around in the shoe.

I have an extremely narrow foot and your Width on the shoe showed N=AA - did not work for me. I think a lot of the problem is that Easy Spirit is now all being in China and their widths are not the same as our American made shoes. I have bought Easy Spirit for years in slim width and never had a problem. About 3 yrs. ago the width became a problem. BUT, every once in a while I try again. Sorry.

I have been wearing Easy Spirit sneakers for 25 years. My most recent purchase was a year ago when I purchased two of the same style that is no longer offered. I have worn Romy before, but not for awhile. I typically am 6.5 M, but in one or two styles over the years I wore a 6.5 W. Knowing Zappos has a generous return policy I ordered two of both of the sizes in Romy feeling confident that I would be only sending back the other two. Both sizes were too short and the medium width actually felt wider than the wide width. Very odd! Spoke to a wonderful customer service representative and the next size is heading my way and UPS is picking up this box. I don't blame Zappos. Clearly this is an Easy Spirit issue. Oh, I did measure the length of two pairs of my Easy Spirit sneakers and the length of these new ones and there was a half inch difference.

Ugh, how is Easy Spirit making a sneaker with no arch support? Like NONE. The footbed is flat. Going back.

Size 8Wide. I think the cloth strip down the sides, between the leather panels, made these feel a little too loose. the toe is roomy which i need. They just seemed to bend in the wrong place for my feet and they come up too high around my ankle bone. maybe i need half size smaller but the length seems fine. they are cute but they have to go back.

Ended up returning these shoes. My search for a cute, comfortable wide shoe will continue. These just felt clunky and not the most stylish in person. Too much room and not enough support for me.

Color was more taupe than gray

I think this are quite pretty... dusty pink in color but they were too big for me... I usually wear a size 9 Medium and that is what I ordered... I have to wear a high arch orthopedic insole... this shoe was too big and really did not feel that comfortable.. I guess I will look into other brands...

Although I have purchased these shoes before (white; never black), I've come to realize they really are not meant for any type of "real" walking. They are best suited for around the house and errands. I walk a minimum of 2 miles a day and these shoes are not up to it. Plus they will last you six months at best. You'll know they are done when you no longer feel any cushion/arch support and feel like your feet are flat. I am looking to find better shoes for walking. I have knee, hip and back pain and, obviously, these shoes don't help.

These shoes did not accommodate my wide foot and the toe box was not roomy enough.

I hoped these would work for me, but they did not. They were soft to the touch. I liked the styling. When I tried them on, they were not wide enough, even though I ordered a wide width. Like most shoes, the shoe makers do not believe that women can have wide feet. Usually I buy mens' styles because shoe makers understand men can have wide feet. Because these were not wide enough, the length also was not long enough. Overall, after trying them on and wearing them a while, I put them back in the box and returned them.

I knew when I ordered these shoes that there was a good chance I would send them back. And, I just did. They are soft. They did fit pretty close. I ordered wide width because I need it. They were wider than their medium width, but it was still tight for me. The length was just a tad too short. The final thing was that they did not provide the support that I need around my foot, almost too soft. I did not put my orthotics in them to see how they would do and how that would change the shoe. In the end, I just didn't feel that I was getting the foot support that I need.

I am on my 4th pair of these sneakers BUT the latest Easy Spirit Romy I just rec'd were not true to size at all!! They were way to wide and my foot slipped out of them.

When I tried them on I thought they were going to be great. Roomy and comfortable, but as I walked in them "ouch" they were tight across the bridge of my foot. I thought maybe I needed to break them in, but after 3 painful tries, I had to send them back! (I normally fit a medium width.)
