Comfy black sneakers - I had a hard time finding mainly black sneakers and these fit the bill. They run a little large. I originally ordered my usual size of 7W but I had to return them for a 6.5W. Those fit fine. They're very comfortable.

Worth trying - This is a nice shoe. I have foot problems and have to wear athletic shoes with orthotics most of the time. These are very comfortable and stable. The only thing I didn't like about the shoe was the laces, so I replaced them with a black pair.

Great basic runner/walker/meanderer - I bought this for stability, and the heel counter is, but the uppers are a little smooshy and not quite the level of stability I need. So I just use them for everyday getting around (some sprinting after buses!) and they are extremely comfortable. Noticeably better for walking than my cross-trainers.

Good Shoe - This is a good work shoe as I have plantar fasciitis and am on my feet nearly all day. I wear an 11 AA and it is narrow enough, but it could be a bit wider in the toe box (to accommodate orthotics). It doesn't have a rugged enough sole for the type of hiking I do, but am satisfied with it as an indoor shoe.

Great shoe overall - I really like this shoe and it is serving its purpose as I train for a half-marathon. There was no break-in time (no blisters, soreness, etc.) and it has felt good from the moment I put it on. The only problem was that I had to send my first pair back because they were definitely a half size too large. I am always an 8.5, but my foot was slipping around and my toes were very far from the front of the shoe. The 8 fits perfectly. The only other complaint I have is that they could offer a little better arch support. In general, however, a great shoe and is seeming to stand up to the challenge of long distance training superbly.

W992 - Ordered a WW which I usually need, but this shoe actually feels wider so I could probably have ordered just a wide.

Good Shoe - Nice shoe---runs wide---I usually take a wide and this is too wide---especially in the heel. Otherwise a very comfortable shoe. Great for bunions as there is a good toe box. I'd buy them again, only in a regular width.

Most comfortable! These are the most comfortable (and the most expensive) athletic shoes that I've ever purchased. However, with narrow feet, there isn't a lot to choose from. I'm not a runner, but love them for walking. Only complaint, the blue is much bluer than it shows on the picture. Really a bright "baby" blue.

Good Shoe!!! I really like this shoe. I’m not super fond of the appearance of them; however, they are very comfortable and very lightweight. I use them as a walking shoe and am very, very happy!!!

NB W992 good but not quite as good as W991 - I had worn 3 pairs of W991 and found that I had to buy a half size larger. I did this for the W992 and find them slightly on the big size (but I think the smaller size would be too small). Also, the tongue on the shoe keeps sliding around when I do aerobics. I haven't figured out yet if there's a way to properly lace the shoes not to have that happen. I wear the shoes for general weekend walking and for my three times per week aerobics classes. I LOVED the 991s. The 992s are pretty good but not quite as good. I wish that they shoes came in more color offerings.

New Balance W992 - Great shoe, great service from Zappos! This shoe is very comfortable, but I could use more arch support. I'm a hard to fit size, running between medium/narrow depending on shoe, and Zappos always comes through with return shipping when needed, and quick delivery!

Good casual shoe - Shoe is comfortable and looks good. Your feet can get hot in them, though, if you wear them for a lot of walking.

Eh... Before ordering I read a couple of reviews saying that new balance ran a size small, and to order up a size. Well, I wear an 8 to an 8.5, so I went a head and went with the 8.5. Turns out they are still big! I didn't send them back because I was scared the 8 would be too small (regret). There's just a lot of room in the toe box and in the heel. I guess it's a wider shoe. I have the laces tied really tight, and I don't like that look. *I would at least order true to size if not a half size smaller.* Hope this helps.

Good for me - I've run for 20 years, mostly in Asics or Brooks. This is my first time trying New Balance. I heard that NB had especially good cushioning, which is important if you are getting older and are still running longer distances (as I am). They are truly cushy and more comfortable than my last pair of shoes. I've run in them 2 weeks now and really like them.

Disappointed with W992 - 992 shoes are a little bigger than the 991. Seems New Balance made shoes different this year. I am disappointed. Last year shoes were great, I bought 2 pairs of 991 and am still wearing them. 992 is certainly different than 991. I am looking for another type of shoe now.

Okay - + Comfortable all over. + Seems durable. - Fits slightly larger than expected. - Just feels like a big shoe, rather "clunky."

New Balance's W992 - I decided to buy these shoes because New Balance consistently fits. I wear a 5 and I have had a lot of trouble finding a running shoe in my size without trying it on first. I knew New Balance would fit.

This is a comfortable shoe to wear if you are on your feet all day. I liked it so much I ordered another one in the white.

Not great - These shoes look and feel clunky to me, wider in the mid-sole than the SL-1 last I've enjoyed in New Balance walking shoes. There is virtually no arch support. Great cushioning, but at this price, given the flaws (for my foot) I'll likely return them. Like all New Balance, order up in size.

Quite comfortable and "good looking" I bought those "shoes" for my mom; it's quite difficult to get anything for her since she has feet bones and small size: 5. However, this kind of sneaker me and her have been wearing for a long time. So, I basically knew it would be comfortable and decent looking.

Hmmm... For the cost of this shoe, I expected just a wee bit more quality to the rubber parts. The clear gel right above the outer heel hardened and became brittle with age. It has cracked and sheared off where my heel strikes the ground. Granted, I've worn this shoe almost everyday for a whole year, for walking and every day use, not running. This would be my minor complaint. The 992 is otherwise very comfortable and the black version stays fairly new/clean-looking, aside from the aforementioned.

Not like the 991 - I can live with this shoe, but it is not just an upgrade of the 991 (which I have worn for a couple of years). I ordered the same size that I wore in the 991, but had to return it for a half-size smaller (and it still feels a big too roomy). A very stable shoe, but could use more cushioning. I think the toe box is taller than the 991.

Too Big! Unfortunately, this shoe was too big on me.

New Balance 992 - These are the most comfortable pair of sneakers I've ever owned. I got the white ones which have leather in the front instead of suede, and after like 10 minutes of playing volleyball indoors...the fronts were completed ripped up.

Overall I'm happy with my w992's the only complaint I have is the heel slips. I tried two different size shoes and still have the same problem. The rest of the shoe fits comfortably and the shoe itself looks great. Excellent service as always.
