Stability and comfort - These are extremely comfortable and stable shoes. I overpronate and these have been great for me although I think New Balance has a shoe (854? 845?) that they say corrects pronation even more. But for comfort, can't beat these. My second pair (had the 991 for a couple years). Try them, you will like them.

New Balance 992 - Love them. Very comfortable. I'm not a big sports shoe person but I've wanted these for quite some time and once I received them, I fell in love.

Great Shoe! My husband kept telling me to try this kind of shoe with an arch support but I have a hard time finding the right fit if the shoe has an arch. Since this type of shoe is new to me, I called Zappos and they helped me and suggested to get this shoe. I needed the shoes for a two week vacation. I hiked a lot, and this shoe never caused any problems. I wear a size 12 narrow, and these shoes don't make my feet look big. I really like the look of them. Zappos is the best!

992 fits differently from 991 - I wanted to buy another pair of 991s, but these were not available. The new model 992 was. Compared with the 991, the toe box is wider, the shoe runs more true to size (an 8.5 is fine with the 992; in the 991, I took a 9 because the fit was narrower). The arch support in the 992 is nothing compared to the 991. It doesn't matter, though, because I use Superfeet insoles in most of my shoes, and the 992 works beautifully with these.

The best running shoes ever - I have been buying these shoes over and over for the past 7 years, at least. Though the models have changed numbers - 990, 991 and now 992 - they remain the best running shoes (and shoes to cruise around in) I've ever been able to find. This is a very structured shoe that offers a lot of support and stability, and requires some break-in time. I have very flat feet, so I need to add a little extra arch support for comfort, but the average person will find them to be perfect as is. In most other shoes, I wear an 8.5, but these tend to run small, so I wear a 9.5. They also come in multiple widths. This is the first time that I have purchased the black/gray version (I usually buy the all gray) and am very happy with them, appearance-wise. If you're looking for a solid running shoe, you can't go wrong with these!

Great shoe - This is a great shoe. I work on my feet all day, so even when I play I need a shoe with stability. I have a metatarsal problem. The doctor also thought this was a great shoe.

Great shoe for wide widths/high arch and instep - I ordered this shoe 1/2 size larger as New Balance tends to run small, but this shoe is true to size, and true to width. I had to return them, but that was easy thanks to Zappos. I ordered size 9 the second time, 2W for my very wide feet. They fit. Cushion is good, and I wore them new from the box all day without problems. I returned the larger shoes, and got the right size with Zappos usual incredible customer service. I have a hard to fit foot. High arch and instep, with a very wide foot. Researched the right shoe last for my foot on New Balance website (SL2) and then looked at the shoes they recommended on Zappos. NB website recommends shoes for different problems, everything from bunions and knee pain to flat feet or high arches and diabetes. Check the site out, but order here for the fab customer service. Zappos is the only place I go to get shoes, free shipping and free return. Great customer service. Dept store shoe depts. never carry anything for my wide feet and only frustrate. Love Zappos, and have told many people about this site. Zappos Forever!!!

NB W992 - a great overall running & X-training shoe - This is my second pair of the W992. I also have them in grey. They are comfortable, functional and stylish. I use them for running and cross-training at the gym. Over the past six years, I have found all New Balance shoes to be comfortable, but these are exceptional and well worth the extra few dollars you might spend on them.

Great, comfortable running shoe - This fit for my narrow foot is ok - could be a bit more snug, particularly in the heel. Next time I might try an AAA, instead of the AA. It doesn't feel heavy to me, as I read in one of the reviews. I like the quality of this shoe.

Good shoe - This is a great shoe. A little pricey, but good. Very comfortable.

I believe this is the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn!!!! I will never get another running shoe!! Seriously I LOVE THIS SHOE! I've tried many shoes and these are the ones. I go to the gym 5 days a week and they never hurt my feet, and they’re true to size. Perfect, my brother even has them, he has black, I have the cool grey, soo happy!

I teach Phys. Edu. and am on my feet all day. These are great, comfortable shoes but seem to wear out quickly. But I will buy them again.

Comfortable shoes - I am pleased with these running shoes in general. They are very well cushioned and soft. The only problem I find is that they are a little too large in the heel, but not so large that I couldn't wear them. I need a large toe box and these are better then any other shoes I've tried.

New Balance W992 - Everyone has commented on the color the navy blue, Love the color. It is a very well made shoe. I always wear New Balance. The heel was a little big, but everything else was perfect. Just wear a thick sock. Like them a lot, would by again maybe 1/2 size smaller.

Love 'em - It makes me so proud to wear these shoes knowing they were made in the USA. I don't think they are too big. I think they feel comfortable because they are actually shaped like my foot. I would recommend trying a different insole than the one provided if you wanted better arch support.

Comfort, fit, support - Very narrow feet and difficult to fit. Wear a 3A but walk/run only come in 2A. These shoes were true to length and width narrow enough for my feet. The toe box is the best fit I've ever had. Support and comfort. Right out of the box walked 3 miles in total comfort.

Great shoe for pavement pounding! I work on my feet in inclement weather at the airport. These are verrrry comfortable shoes; cool in the summer, warm in the winter. They must be sort of water proof, because my feet have never gotten wet! All in the Seattle rain too!! I love the extra roominess in the toe area like others have said. I always order 1/2 size larger in athletic shoes, and did so with these as well, and they fit perfect!

New Balance - My husband has worn New Balance ever since we met and he could never convince me to try them. I don't really remember what made me change my mind but now that I have tried them I wouldn't wear anything else. This is the 3rd pair of these shoes I've owned.

Best Running Shoes I've Ever Owned - These are the best shoes. I have arthritis in both of my knees and ever since I started running and walking in these shoes, my knees have not hurt. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone that has knee problems.

Great all around shoe... I really like this shoe. True to size. I'm an 11 and often the shoes arrive and don't fit, but these were great. I ordered the wide and am glad I did, comfy and stylish for lots of purposes. I'm going on vacation for a month and these will be the only athletic shoes I take. Highly recommend and buy them from Zappos. I have returned several shoes to them and it's never a problem. I love the free shipping on returns.

992's - Wish I would have gotten a 1/2 size smaller; but they're really wide and allow my toes to move . My legs already feel better at work. This I notice at night so they must be helping. I work in them and I run in them great overall shoe plus they're made in USA!!!

Classy shoe - I don't have a wide foot, but because of my bunions I have to buy a wide shoe or a medium width that is made on the wide side. I ordered the grey in an 8 M and they fit perfectly. They give me just that little extra room I need. They are well made and sharp looking. Almost a dressy look for a sneaker. I haven't done any major walking in them yet but in a few weeks will wear them to the big Apple. Will let you know if they don't pass that test. They are fairly comfortable but not as much as some of my older Adidas. All in all, I am very pleased with them.

I love these shoes and I love Zappos! I have wide feet, overpronation, and wear orthotics. These shoes accommodated all. Even with the orthotics they were a bit roomy, but not big enough to order a half size up.

Cool shoe in Cool Grey - My 92-year-old mother is undergoing rehab after spine surgery and LOVES these shoes. With the addition of elastic laces, she is able to put them on and definitely can walk with more stability when wearing these shoes. Her therapists love them, too. Thanks to Zappos for making the selection so easy.
