Hooray for narrow shoes - I typically have to buy a half size down because my feet are so narrow, so I really appreciate New Balance's range of available widths. These were comfortable right out of the box. My only (minor) complaint is that they come up a bit high in the back, which I've always found slightly uncomfortable.

Comfort at last!!! My foot doctor recommended this shoe for me. I stand for 12 hours at a time in business and I have a heel spur and a pulled tendon. These shoes are so comfortable. I bought 1/2 size larger to accommodate an arch support but they are great, I really love them and am no longer in pain.

I love my 992's - I have suffered from PF for over 18 months. I inserted my orthotics and have worn these shoes almost exclusively for the past few weeks. My pain has decreased by 80%! Amazing. Zappos was very easy to work with and I received my sneakers fast! I'm a very happy customer.

The greatest workout shoe! I love these sneakers! I'm already on my second pair. They are extremely comfortable & supportive for working out at the gym. I order a half size larger than my regular shoe size to accommodate socks.

A Winner! This shoe is a very nice, light, all-purpose shoe. Its cool mesh material helps when working out and its accommodated my orthotics quite nicely. I am quite happy with this New Balance shoe.

New Balance 992 in Blue and a pair in White for Women - They are perfectly wonderful! I have long and narrow feet and New Balance shoes always fit perfectly.

Try A Tongue Pad - For those of you who feel the heel is too loose, you could try one of those felt tongue pads. The addition of a tongue pad may gently push you back into the heel and make the heel fit better. It worked for me. I love these shoes. I broke my foot this past summer and needed a shoe with some support and these work. They do run 1/2 size larger than marked.

Love my 992s - I love my new 992s in Grey, and kudos to Zappos for helping me get my hands on the narrow width! I've only ever had a couple of pairs of sneakers that fit my feet correctly and these are one of them. I find the greenish color on the heel kind of odd, but it doesn't take too much away from the look of the shoe. It seems to look like a slightly lighter grey in the pictures, but it is more of a sea foam green, so if you are buying this shoe for its looks, be aware of this.

If you're looking to relieve back pain, shin splints, and knee pain, I highly recommend these shoes. Although, I buy a pair every 3 months due to my job duties as a courier. The New Balance 992 is worth every penny!!!

Lots of cushioning maybe order a 1/2 size smaller - I have high arch and wide feet. I have pretty much given up any kind of running, but I did the foot test of Zappos and studied the list of shoes and came to this one. It’s much more expensive than I wanted, but I figured it’s worth it if it can get me exercising more. It is very well made (In the USA) but I wish I would have ordered a 7.5 instead of an 8. Perhaps I'm just used to wearing 8 regular width- sizing up to accommodate width. I had already worn them so outside so I won't be able to return them and I don't think they will wear out anytime soon, so this purchase was a little bittersweet for me, alas, that is my fault. The shoe and Zappos are terrific! PS: This shoe doesn't have arch support per se, but overall cushioning.

Extremely satisfied - Love these shoes. No break in necessary, simply put them on and go. I wear orthotics and they fit just fine. I have only had them for about a month so don't know how long they will last; I tend to go through soles pretty quickly, however these look like they may hold up better than most. I hope so. The Zappos service was extraordinary. I placed my order in the afternoon and the shoes were delivered the next day, early afternoon.

What an awesome shoe! My daughter wears a uniform and it is very difficult to find a pretty basic shoe. This one is absolutely adorable with its quilted hearts! It is so light and comfortable. My daughter always complains about her shoes feeling too tight, too loose, whatever - but not this shoe. She put it on and it fit like a glove. If your Cinderella is difficult to please, definitely give this slipper a try!

The most comfortable shoes I own. This is just an outstanding shoe. Plenty of support, excellent styling (I love the way these shoes look), and lightweight too. New Balance always seems to have just the right shoes for my needs and Zappos always has the choices, sizes, and availability to keep me coming back. Thanks!

Great for weak ankles - I have always had problems with other sneakers due to my ankles turning in whenever I go over uneven pavement or rocky terrain. These sneakers keep them and my feet stable and makes for a balanced and even stride. They are a bit large and bulky looking, but the fit, comfort, and stability give it 5 stars.

Yes... the boots have great style! And soft leather BUT it is true that they run wide and about a full size (or more) large. I usually wear an 8 or 8.5 so I ordered the size 39. So now I just ordered the 38 (which is equivalent to size 7 or 7.5 which I NEVER wear). I hope the 38's fit otherwise I'll have to return both pairs. I really like the & quote; funky & quote; cowboy style with the pointed toe and the studs (which are not too shiny) and the detailing with the leather.

Love 'em, but alas, EE was still too tight - I love these shoes for the shock absorption value, but even for an 11 extra wide (EE), they are still too narrow and New Balance doesn't make these in EEEE, which is really too bad. From what I read, there are lots of us out here who need these wider widths. I ended up purchasing the 1123s instead, which do come in EEEE and while they do fit, they don't compare to the shock absorption and look of the 992s, but alas, my feet have to fit in them. Everyone swears by the 992s and I'm sure I would as well, IF THEY MADE WIDER SIZES! I'm sorry to have to return them because I even liked the way they looked, which is a feat for an ll double-wide foot in sneakers! Zappos - you're the best.

AT LAST - I have been looking for the perfect athletic shoes well... forever. Poor Zappos, I've bought and returned a bizillion pair. I love these shoes. They are way comfortable right out of the box. They feel substantial, sturdy. I bought the grey combo and while the picture shows the darker highlights to be almost greenish, they actually are a somewhat darker grey than the rest of the shoe. I think they are good looking and not at all wacky (not that I have anything against wacky sneaks, but these are not). I did notice that my huge size 12s did look big in these. Let's face it, they are big, but some shoes make them look a bit smaller. Not these, they're barges, but comfortable barges. I'm a happy camper. And Zappos, what really can one say, they're the best.

After a year of trying on shoes that never felt good... I finally just ordered the W992. The heel spur on my right foot only complicates my already hard-to-fit feet. Very high arches and a need for extra room in the heel added to a trend in shoes toward a low-profile for the heel… have made purchasing a new athletic shoe a major ordeal. For over a year I've been unable to find a shoe that felt good in the store but also held up to more than an hour's wear without causing pain. I ordered these shoes after reading many owner reviews of them and other style numbers; less than 36 hours later (Zappos surprised me with a shipping upgrade from standard for free to overnight also for free) the Fed-Ex truck pulled away from my door leaving me with very nice-looking shoes that required absolutely no break-in period to be completely comfortable without a single pressure-point for wear during twelve-hour shifts. I am beyond grateful. My very high arches are still routinely quiet after 14 hours in these shoes. The structure of the shoe is high enough in the back and roomy enough that there is no discomfort from my heel spur. I am going to be able to go back to the gym now that I have a shoe in which I can exercise without pain. GO New Balance - and GO ZAPPOS!!!

Best shoe out there - I've been wearing this model for 6 or 7 years now. I work out a lot so I generally buy three or so pairs/year. For someone with a bad knee, bad hips, and foot problems, it is the best. I wear it for walking (on streets and treadmill), on the elliptical, and to do weights. Highly recommended.

I love my wide (D) New Balances. I'm training for my first half marathon and these shoes were recommended by two physicians I know (one who is a regular runner and the other an orthopedic surgeon) and they were right. I bought a half size up, but the width makes all the difference. They are super comfy and very lightweight.

Fabulous Walking Shoe! I've had foot surgery and a knee replacement within the last two years. This is the most comfortable walking shoe I've ever had. It's fun to get walking comfortably again, thanks to this shoe. Finding Zappos is like finding "comfort heaven!" Thanks for the great customer service, too.
