I love them. I have a pair I wear to the dog park, a pair for everyday and a pair for when I want to dress up! They're classics, and they're beautiful, graceful like Grace Kelly or Jackie Onassis.

This shoe is amazingly soft! It is worth your investment. Unfortunately I was looking something for my arthritic feet. Not enough cushion at the front. I will have to send it back and it makes me feel really sad. Anyway I feel lucky that Zappos is getting this European brand available to us. Never fail with Zappos.com. I would like to see more Arche models in all sizes. I have recommended this shoe to everybody I know but not all sizes are available. Please please please get more sizes available. ;)

I have this shoe in five colors and would buy more. I am on my forth pair of black, which is my go-to, everyday shoe. These shoes are really comfortable for me as they have an arch support which is uncommon in ballet flats. Also the nubuck is soft and conforms to the foot. I love the fact that if they start to look scruffy, I just take them to the sink, gently wet and use a soft toothbrush over the surface and ,Voila, good again. I will warn that when new, they will leave dye marks on your feet or stockings. Other than that, they are perfect.

Love the color as it goes with everything! Comfortable from the first steps. I wear size 7 1/2 or 8 and the 39 fit perfectly.

Zappos is not what it used to be as far as the number of brands and the selection. Although I do feel fortunate to be a Zappos VIP, I have to look elsewhere for the majority of my shoes. I was looking for the Arche Laius, which I own and wanted to buy more, and only found one at Zappos. I know there are many colors in leather and nubuck...just not at Zappos. Sad in Oklahoma.

I wear size 9N and I ordered size 40, since I have another pair of Arche sandals that are size 40. These Laius were much too short.

I wear Arche shoes almost exclusively because of their incredible comfort and easy maintenance. I haven't had a pair that I have not enjoyed.

I love these shoes. I am a big Arche fan but these are deliciously comfortable. I would not wear them to pound the streets of New York City on a regular basis, but as a simple, cool shoe to wear with casual or dressy clothes they are perfect. I never want to take them off.

I ordered this shoe yesterday and it arrived today. What great service! I wear an 8 and ordered the 8 because it does not come in half sizes. I was afraid the 9 would be too long. The 8 fits like a glove - literally. At first I thought they may be a little short, but after trying them out tonight, I think they are going to be perfect for my trip to NYC in two weeks. You would not want your glove fingers to be too long and this shoe fits like one. It is so comfortable. If your big toe is a lot longer than all your others, then order the size up.

These are the absolutely most beautiful and perfect patent leather low wedges I have ever seen. They are simply exquisite. I wanted to keep them, but the toe bed is simply too narrow to gamble that the 10% to 14% stretch (that the manufacturer says will happen) will be sufficient and will not ache my feet. If they were half the price, I would have taken the risk. They are beautiful, and it hurt my heart to return the best looking patent leather shoe out there in a large size (42). I didn't bother ordering up (43) because the length was fine. In fact, I had a full thumbnail of space at the toe. The length is pretty long, but the width only at the toe bed (not in the heel, which is amply wide/normal) makes this definitely a shoe for a narrow (not even regular width, necessarily) foot. I'm jealous of whoever gets to wear this shoe.

I have to return these shoes, which I love, because the left heel hits too high on my foot. It would lead to a wound, I'm sure.

Great style for a super comfy ballet flat. Not really lined-- just high quality leather outer with the backside as the inside. For some reason I didn't find this very comfortable. Maybe because it wasn't smooth, kind of grippy suede. (Compare to AGL ballet flats which feel like heaven inside because of the smooth leather.) Insole is leather. Sole is squishy rubber which makes it very comfy. Unfortunately these seem super narrow to me. If they were wider I would've keep them.

I debated keeping these, mainly due to the price, since they didn't seem super "sturdy" and I am not sure how they will hold up. However, they are comfortable and look nice on. I have been looking for a comfortable flat with a little support that can go from casual to dressy, and wear with business outfits while traveling. I decided to keep these and will update the review. I wore them recently on a trip and so far so good. I was hoping for more arch support, but bought these based on many positive reviews, so fingers crossed! Also, I am usually a size 40 (women's 9) but sized up to a 41. Relative to fit, they are a bit narrow, and have an elastic feel at the heel that keeps foot snugly in.

I would have this shoe in many colors if they made half sizes. I am truly between a 39 and 40. I've purchased other Arche styles in half sizes. Love this shoe, but can not buy more of these - too loose in length or too short. Dommage!

The Havane is a spectacular color. When I ordered it I wondered what on earth I could wear this deep, rich color with. Once I slipped it on I wondered what I could not wear it with. It looks stunning with black. Unfortunately, these shoes do not fit me. I typically wear a 9½ in most brands, occasionally a 10. I tried a 10 with these shoes, and it is too tight. The next size up is an 11, so I will move on to a different style and see if I can find an Arche that will work for me.

I got the blush color and it's such a gorgeous color that I literally gasped when I opened the box. Even though these shoes were more than twice as much as I wanted to spend I knew I would suck it up and keep them if they felt good on my feet. Sadly, they hurt me. The leather and footbed are both super soft and flexible but the elastic around the heel dug in and killed my achilles. I'm a size 7 and I ordered the 38. There was some room between my toes and the end of the shoe so it wasn't too small -- in fact given the extra space at the toe and the shape of the toe box the shoes actually made my feet look bigger than they are. I was so sad that these didn't work for me. Also, they squeaked like crazy when I walked. A big squeak on every step. This might well have gone away after a few wears but it was definitely another con for me and I couldn't live with the pain -- especially for the price. However, these are beautiful beautiful shoes if they don't hurt you and don't squeak on you. Big love and thanks to Zappos for such great customer service as I struggle to find a flat that works for me!

I've ordered this shoe before in size 42 and found it to be too big but I kept them anyway because they were so comfortable. I'm still wearing them years later and they are even more super comfortable.
The Laius was on sale so I ordered both sizes 41 and 42 to see which would be a better fit this time. Well the 41 fit but it gave me no room for tired feet that expand at the end of the day so I returned them.
The size 42 Laius was a perfect fit this time, not too large. It was obviously a smaller 42 than I had ordered previously. Well I tried them on and walked on carpet and I have to agree with an earlier reviewer who said the elastic on the elongated tab in the back of the ankle digs painfully into your flesh. I kept them boxed in my closet trying to decide whether or not to keep them but decided too much money for too much pain even if it was a great deal. Sadly, today I return them.

For foot/fit comparison: I am a true 8.5, medium width but for a small tailor's bunion developing on the small toe side of each foot, very high arches, high instep. I tend towards over pronation and walk with a first metatarsal drop (meaning I strike the ground with the big toe side of my foot first, especially when running) for which I have compensatory orthotics.
These are beautiful flats. The leather is very soft and the soft pointed toe shape is stylish and contemporary. These, however, did not fit me in the slightest. Even ordering up a half size (to a 9), they just barely fit me in length. As for width? Way too narrow for my foot, which spilled out over the sole. The last detraction was the fact that they have zero arch support and due to the fact that they are so small, I wouldn't be able to put in an arch support insert.
Back they go...

I ordered what I thought was Navy. It is a brighter blue--on the teal side of blue. Very pretty but not what I needed.
I also have this shoe in another color--the fit was different for this one.

Love the look and walking comfort of this item but the stitching along the top edge of the shoe is rather rough and irritating. Returned item for this reason.

Loved the style of the shoe, but it was just too high on my ankle and wanted to rub a spot Even with thin socks, I could tell they were not even going to get me a half day traipsing around Paris. Sorry, back they go.

I have several pair of Arche shoes and boots, so I ordered these in my usual size. I could barely get my foot into these! They were not only too short, but super narrow in the toe box, which is odd for Arche. I would say they were a full size smaller than my other Arche shoes. The top of the shoe is shaped strangely, as well...at least on my foot. The "u" of the top did not sit at the center of my foot top, but was skewed to one side. These went back to Zappos.

After reading all the rave reviews, I bought both the Arche Laius and the Arche Lilly to try out in both sizes 9 & 10. I wanted a flat to wear. I am a solid size 9, occasionally a size 9.5 if a brand runs small. I wear a 9 in both dress shoes and sneakers. So, I ordered the flats in both size 9 (40) and size 10 (41) since in the U.S. often a 9 is a 40.5 just to be safe. What a waste of time. The 9's in the Laius were way too tight, the 9's in the Lilly were less tight but too tight and the 10's were snugger than desired but not as tight. They fit but I could not imagine wearing them all day. I tried them at the end of the day since feet swell and that is the best time to try on shoes. I should not need to order a size 11 if I wear a 9! The suede is buttery soft and gorgeous on both styles and the colors are nice. The rubber soles seem nice, but, another feature I noticed that was really uncomfortable is that the heel support runs halfway along the foot bed and tapers down and then stops and then the shoe is lined on top of that, well, there is a very noticeable ridge where the heel support runs out. And you can both see it when you look at the shoe and feel it when you wear them. It was in all 3 pairs, different styles, sizes and colors, so it's not a fluke just in 1 pair. If you have sensitive arches or instep, you will probably feel this when worn, I sure did. Also, the stretchy elastic opening really doesn't stretch or give like the description leads you to believe, at least not on the suede models and this makes the tab at the end/back of the shoe dig into the back of your heel. Like other reviewers, I think that would be really painful. A pricey shoe should not have these problems. I've seen better made less priced shoes. Shame, the shoes are beautiful to look at.

I love Arche and have several pairs of their boots that I wear eight months of every year. With that said, the Laius is a big disappointment. Or, should I say, a SMALL disappointment?! These shoes are so narrow and the toe box is so shallow, they are hideously uncomfortable. Sizing up (from 41 to 42) does nothing but make the shoe loose in the heel.
