I couldn't wait to get these boots, but even though I had read reviews and thought I had ordered accordingly, I just could not wear them! I was able to get the right one on and although it was very stiff and very tight across the upper foot, I thought it would stretch as I wore it. But the other foot - I know this sounds crazy, but I could not get it on at all! The leather of the upper foot was so stiff that no matter how I twisted my foot, arched my ankle or pulled (my 10 year old son even was pulling too as I tried to push my foot in) we could not get it on. So I sent them back. I really wanted Frye boots, but this was just crazy. I don't have odd or particularly wide feet and have never had this issue with any other shoes.

So disappointed! I had to send these lovely boots back! Normally I have no problem with one foot being any larger than the other, but when I got these, I couldn't even get the right one on my foot! I had actually ordered them a half size larger than usual, on the recommendation of a friend who has Frye boots. I found the leather uppers to be extremely stiff, but pulled on the left boot wearing a thin sock without any more difficulty than you normally have with a new boot. But the right, the boot was just much stiffer and tighter and I could not get it on my foot! I know they would probably loosen up and soften with time, but honestly, it was really hurting my foot and I just don't want to go through a month of taking 15 minutes to pull on a boot! I'm really bummed and they looked great, just like the photo, but were just too stiff and hard to pull over my foot and ankle.

Not for me... I was really excited about these boots, since I've always wanted a pair of "engineers". Sadly, they were far too stiff & uncomfortable for me. And, while I know that with time & wear, they'll probably end up feeling fabulous, I'm not up to the task of wearing them daily to achieve eventual comfort. I need comfort NOW.

Too narrow - I don't have wide feet at all but these boots really pinch my toes together and slip badly in the heel. I hope Frye reads this and corrects it. Why do so many shoemakers now make " medium" width so narrow and not offer a wider width? If they didn't look so "High Plains Drifter" I would return them.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these Frye boots! Bought many pairs! Latest pair needs breaking in more than past pairs, I think they changed the manufacturer or design a little, these seem a bit more narrow but still have the same great leather.

I love these boots! They are very cool looking and well made.
