These boots are fantastic. I wore an 8 1/2 all of my adult life until I had my daughter. After that I have been between an 8 1/2 and a 9. My feet are a little on the wide side. I ordered these boots in an 8 1/2 and they fit beautifully. The leather is nice, thick leather. The boots are a little tough to put on the first couple of times but the pull tabs are nice and sturdy. I wore them with thin socks. Very little break in period - my third time wearing them I went to a festival and walked around outside for 7 hours with no soreness. I love these boots.

Love, love love these boots. Comfortable, cool looking, quality all the way. I have them (Harness) in different colors and also several in the clog style. This pair (black) took no breaking in at all. I ordered my normal size and could easily get them on (without a wrestling match)! Loved that. Wear them all day with no problems. It's going to be hard to put them away for the summer, but they will last me forever! You can't go wrong with Frye. I got my first pair in the mid 70's.

I have loved and worn Frye boots since I was a teen and am now over 50! These boots are classy and timeless, very sharp with anything from a skirt to my jeans on the back of the Harley. Comfy from the first wear, Frye boots are worth the money, last for years! As far as I'm concerned, they are the "first name" in boots. True to size as well.

Definitely difficult on the break-in of the instep (aka really hard to get on!) and also they do tend to pull down shorter socks. However, those are my only complaints! They look so good with skirts and skinny jeans and even under flares that I am so happy I bought them. Worth every penny.

I bought these boots for my mom, who has a hard time finding boots that she likes. She doesn't like them tight on her calves. These were a great solution, because they land above her ankle before her calf, and she wears them all the time! Good quality as well. My dad had a pair of Frye boots he wore regularly for over a decade. Good investment!

Kind of expensive but worth it. These will last! I love them. I have a high instep so they are just a tiny bit hard to get on but I think with time the leather will be more forgiving. These are comfortable, sturdy and cool looking!

Classic styling, but I should have read the reviews about sizing. I ordered the wide because the regular was so narrow I could not get my foot into it, this one I got into but my normal size was way too large. I am hoping the half size down will do the trick!

I was so looking forward to this beautiful boot! It is very well made, and seems that it would fit a different kind of foot than mine well! My heel slipped a lot, and it seemed too roomy, but I have skinny feet! Whoever can fit in this marvelous boot will enjoy it!

Great boots! My 3rd pair of Frye boots, and will probably be the pair I wear the most. Love the leather- soft from the beginning. I wear them often under pants, and am comfy and stylish! No restrictive movements because they are shorter, so I can wear them daily if I want!

I absolutely Love these boots! They are awesome! I put them on as soon as I got them and I just don't want to take them off. Zappos is amazing, I ordered my boots at 6pm yesterday with the free 4-5 day standard shipping but had them today by 3pm. I will definitely be buying all my shoes at Zappos from now on. As some of the other reviewers have said they do run a bit big so I would definitely order a half size down. I usually wear an 8.5-9 so I ordered an 8.5 and definitely could have worn an 8. But like I said they're so comfortable that I most likely will not be exchanging them.

Oh daddy these boots are hot! I was worried they would be too biker chick for me but they have just the right balance of edginess and refinement plus sexy cool, you know who you are and what you like sort of thing going on. They pair well with boot cut jeans or tucked into skinnys and they are cute with skirts and leggings too. Very comfy, just break in with thick socks for the first few wearings. Size down 1/2 a size with Frye. The 8R is perfect for my petite frame 5'2" the 12R's, which I considered, would be too much for my short legs.

I love these boots! I've had them for a month and wear them about 4-5 times weekly. I bucked the trend and ordered my regular size, and while they do feel roomy, they don't feel too big. If I had gone down half a size, I think they would have been too small. I didn't need to break them in at all, and walked around NYC in them for a whole weekend with absolutely no problems about 2 weeks after receiving them. I just adore them and am so glad I got them.

Based on the reviews below, I got 7.5 instead of 8. The first time putting them on were insanity, but the boot is starting to stretch out so I'm glad I stuck with the smaller size. Really comfortable. Also, it rained today and the boots look great. I'm looking forward to having these boots for the rest of my life. Love buying for quality and it being totally worth it.

I can’t say enough good things about these boots. After having imitations, I’ve always wanted a true Harness boot. These are just about as perfect as a boot can get. Each time I wear them, they get more comfortable and they stand up to anything. They took a little getting used to in the very beginning (mainly because they are heavier than any shoe or boot I’ve ever worn), but the leather is beginning to soften a little and I feel like they’re really conforming to my feet.

I am very pleased with my boots and my experience with Zappos. Others reviews of the Frye boots assisted in me in getting the right size. I will be purchasing more items in the future.\r\n\r\nThank you Zappos.

These are everything I wanted. The only downside was they were a little narrow. It's easy to wear them out. The way they look makes up for it.

Love these boots! I've been searching for some comfy basic black boots that are casual and hip. I ordered 1/2 size smaller than my street shoes and they fit perfectly. Wore them all day and they felt great, no breaking in required. Plus, they don't make my feet look huge (I normally wear a 9.5 or 10, I got these in 9). Highly recommend!

Love my boots! Definitely took a few wears to break them in, but that was expected. They are motorcycle boots, so they are sturdy and heavy. I can only imagine how much more comfortable they will get after a year. Also, definitely go a half size smaller. Thank you Zappos! Got them in a day.

I've had these boots for two years and have worn them dozens of times trying to break them in, and to the shoe-repair shop twice for stretching across the instep. They remain very uncomfortable. My feet are on the narrow side of B width, but these pinch terribly. It's a shame because they are great-looking boots, but every time I think about wearing them I think "Do I want to put my feet through that by mid-day?" and "Darn, what a waste of money." I should have returned them as soon as I got them. They don't get better.

I have had these boots for about three years. They’re super great quality and made in the USA. I have them in a purple color. They look wonderful with jeans or dress pants but I typically wear them with jeans. I like that they’re short because I have thick calves. They’re very comfortable and stylish.

These boots are made for walking. I'm 49 years old and they make me feel younger! they go with anything. I did have to order a half size down and they are perfect. The break-in time for these black ones was about 2 days. Love them! I feel cool now.

My all time favorite boot! I've had mine for 15 years and I love them more each year. They are definitely worth the money.

These boots are awesome, and perfect for that tough-biker-chic kind of Portland look! I have the target knockoffs of the 12R brown harness boot and these are so much better quality. I guess you get what you pay for, right? Zappos is amazing and super fast. I ordered them online at 7pm and they were at my house at 2pm the next day, less than 24 hours later! I read a lot of the reviews for sizing issues, but I ended up getting a size 7 (which is what I am in most brands: Doc Marten, Nike, Steve Madden, etc.) and they fit perfectly--enough room to wiggle my toes and with some slippage in the heel, also snug with thick socks. I am really happy with these boots and will eventually get the real Frye Harness 12R in brown since I like these so much. After one day of wearing them, they are more comfortable than the knockoffs!
