SQUEAKS ANNOYINGLY!!!! What's the deal with the squeaking? I've had these shoes for about 6 months and they still squeak when you're walking. It's really annoying and embarrassing to wear in the library or class. Other than that I'd love these shoes. Does anyone know if other Simple shoes squeak?

Comfortable, but SQUEAKY - I've had these shoes for about a month. Very comfortable, but I cannot wear them in a quiet environment (like an office). They SQUEAK when I walk, and it is highly annoying. Other than that, it is a very comfortable shoe. Easy to walk long distances without much discomfort.

Not the same - Not up to the standard of the old Simple sneakers. I have a pair I bought in 1994, loved them for years and thought these would be the replacement. The canvas on the upper feels cheap and the feel just isn't the same. Ah well, should have bought another pair those many years ago.

Shoe not according to pic shown - After purchasing the shoe the picture shown online didn't replicate the actual shoe sold to me. The pic showed a lighter blue with white accents instead of a dark blue with cream accents that I received. I was hoping for more of the look shown online.

I didn’t like these shoes. I’ve never tried “Simple” before but seeing as Puma has gone awol with their 15 plus year line of Puma original suede shoes (otherwise known as “clydes” or “States” if in the UK) I’ve been searching for an alternative... If you are/were a person who liked and wore the old school Puma Suedes then you won’t like this shoe... It feels completely different... They felt stiff, weren’t very flexible in the soles, and just felt strange on my feet... It obviously has a strong following but I just wasn’t into it...

Cool looking shoes, but flat - I love the way these shoes look, but the have no support and are extremely flat. Not really uncomfortable, but they would be so much better with some arch support. Still, I would buy them again because they look so cool.

Style was good, but once I tried walking the upper part before the toe jammed into the side of my foot as it creased, a level above annoying and almost painful.

I bought these shoes for need of a casual pair of shoes for pleasure and work. The looks of the shoe are decent, but the fit and comfort are terrible. After a couple of hours of walking in them, even on carpet, my feet start to hurt. Even more annoying is the shoes make this whop whop whop noise when I walk in them. I work in a very casual environment and thought these shoes would fit right in - not so. My coworkers could here me walking through the office area and pop there head up over the cubicle and giggle. These shoes are going to serve hard time in the closet.

I've been trying to like these shoes for probably three years. They look great, and they seem very well made. But they feel like unbreathing hot pods -- which is sometimes a complaint of mine about sneakers in general, but these much more than average. I wish I could love these shoes, but I'm going to give my (lightly-worn) pair aiway.

Not very happy with these shoes. They tend to squeeze my small toes. I was hoping that they'd break in a bit, but no such luck. Also, they squeak terribly. Seems that my socks rub against the inside of the shoe causing a very noticeable squeak. Not a good buy.

Cute, but uncomfortable - This is my second pair of Simple sneakers and both were so uncomfortable I am giving them away. I don't understand how they can make sneakers that are uncomfortable! I wear a woman's size 6 and bought the men's size 4; I don't think a 4.5 would have helped much though. Very cute, and the heel is nice and padded so that part is fine. However, the rubber cuts into my little toes and gave me blisters. The opposite side is also wearing on the side of my foot. The soles are very hard as well. Unfortunately, I wore them outside trying to break them in and cannot return them. I am going to buy a new pair of New Balance trail runners instead; not as cute/casual, but extremely comfortable.

Squeak Squeak Squeak - I was a die-hard Chuck fan for years, but I started looking around for replacements when Chuck's lack of arch support started to really hurt my feet. These shoes are great looking and extremely comfortable to wear, but the constant squeak is a deal-breaking annoyance. I was really hoping for them to be my daily pair, but I simply can not wear these shoes often due to the noise they make. Especially not at work in my quiet office. Unfortunately, I've worn them too much to return them. I was really hoping it was just a matter of getting through the break-in period, but it looks like the squeak is here to stay.

This shoe was incredibly uncomfortable. I've spent the past three months trying to break thme in and nothing helps. Everytime I wear them for any non-trivial distance I get huge blisters and scabs on my toes. I will not be purchasing Simple shoes again.
