I bought these for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved them! Initially when we first opened the package we weren't too sure about the distressed color, but the moment he put them on we were amazed at how good they looked. He is able to wear them with every color and he gets so many compliments on them. We have only had one or 2 people think they were "old" boots, but everyone else knew the distressed style and loved them. My dad is now even getting a pair! These boots took a little bit to break in (wearing them about 2-3 times did the trick) to finally feel comfortable, but now they feel as great as they look, or so he says!

Excellent - These boots are very high quality and very comfortable. But...I had to exchange them for a 1/2 size smaller and put inserts in (which I do for all my boots anyway). Zappos is great - they let me hold onto what was the larger pair, sent me the smaller pair, and let me decide after making sure that I had the right size.

Nice looking boot, bad fit by poor design. Although the boot was clearly the right size, it was very difficult to get on. Once on, my toes were cramped but my heel loose. I can only assume this is due to bad shape of the boot since I've never had this problem with other boots before.

Awesome boots. Sizing is pretty close. You could order regular or half size small, both would fit. Just depends on if you like your boots a tiny bit snug, or a tiny bit loose. Quality is A+ and they look great. Also, for those who care, women REALLY seem to notice/like these things. They do take a bit of wearing to break in completely, but it's not like they are unbearable until then. I would definitely recommend them.

Hot Boots - I'm reviewing for my husband for whom I bought these as a gift. He loves the style and comfort, but he thinks they are hot (the in-sole is made of some non-absorbent material). He has "delicate" feet, so comfort is important. I bought the boots in 8.5, which is his true size, but they were too loose for his comfort. I ordered a pair in size 8, and those were somewhat tight and hard to pull on and off. We remedied this by purchasing a set of leather sole inserts. The size 8.5 now fit him perfectly and the leather inserts helps keep his feet a little drier.

A little shoe-stretch, an insole, and you're ready to rock. I got my Harness (full disclosure...the side zip version that isn't made anymore) three years ago. I loved the way they looked and the leather was so rich and buttery. But every time I put them on, something wasn't "right". People told me you had to wear them a lot to break them in. But I found that, despite not feeling too small, they rubbed the knuckles of my toes in a way that bothered me and the lack of support inside made me feel wobbly. Well, thanks to my genius girlfriend, I bought a great Superfeet boot insole for support and had the boots professionally stretched just a touch in the toe area. Now, it's hard for me to wear anything else. I love the way they look and feel. If you're lucky enough to have them fit right away, awesome. If not, take the time to customize. Reward the boots and they'll reward you back.

Frye Harness 8R “D width Gaucho” - When I ordered Frye Harness 8R “D width Gaucho” on Friday night, I thought it would take a week, but I received it on Monday afternoon and I liked them so much that I ordered one in black the same day and I was surprised to receive it next day by noon, can’t ask for more. Both Gaucho and Black are the same size, but feel different when you wear it, one a little tighter than the other pair. I wear 9 and 9.5 size, but I ordered 9 and it fits really nice, so my advice is order one and try it for a day then decide. Like I said, every pair is a little different. Great Looking Boot - Excellent Customer Service, Unbeatable Shipping Service, Reasonably Priced, and the best quality boot I have owned. This is a must visit website for any shoe buyer.

Amazing boots so far - I have been wearing these boots for about 3 weeks now and they are very comfortable, and hold up to weather great and look amazing. There has been almost no breaking in needed. Just took a few good days of walking around New York City to do that. Leather is beautiful too.

Great boots. These are the first boots I've owned for quite a long time, and I'm definitely satisfied. The boots have a sharp look and good feel. The arch support makes this the running shoe of boots, but the heel is still a little hard. I've never owned a slip-on and it'll take some adjusting to, so to people looking at a boot for the first time: know that you'll have to acclimatize to the difference from shoes. They definitely need some breaking in, the leather is thick and at first the boot doesn't want to follow your foot at all. Aside from the great product, I got great service. Free shipping of any kind is great, especially with a package as heavy as the boots, and in this case I expected them to take awhile to arrive. I made the order on Friday night, it was processed Saturday morning, and ended up 20 minutes away from my house at around noon on Saturday. The boots arrived on Monday, a day earlier than what was scheduled. My first order from Zappos was great, and I'll definitely consider offering my patronage in the future.

Amazing! Best boots ever! I absolutely love these babies! I wear them almost every day and they are super comfortable, they can be dressed up or dressed down and always look great! At first I got a thirteen because that’s usually my size, but they felt to large so I went with a twelve and they are perfect, order a pair!:)

At my Door in less than 24 - Just go them today in less than 24 hours. I find that with my narrow heel going down a half a size was real help. 10 to 9.5. Like all other boots, they will need some break in, but the look is awesome; nice quality boots.

Fits just right - This boot fits right, it's very comfortable, and the size was right on. The color is darker than shown in the picture.

Runs about 1/2 size small but overall a great shoe. Very comfortable and I get a lot of compliments.

This is a great boot. It is constructed well and has a classic look- though it looks good dressed up with jeans. It fit really well, though the toe was a bit narrower than I thought. Other than that, it is a great looking boot that wears well and I expect will last for a long, long time.

Excellent Choice - I love my new boots. They are great looking and continue to get that way through wearing them more and more. Someone earlier mentioned that you need to wear them more to stretch them out, this is my one piece of advice too. The Harness is tight at first, but just needs wearing to make them easier to put on. I love them and am continually getting compliments on them.

Great boot - I love the look and the fit of these boots! I was very pleasantly surprised that they weren't too wide for my narrow foot. The only downside for me has been the lack of comfort in the cushioning in the heel. Unfortunately I spend most of my day standing on very hard linoleum-on-concrete floors, so that doesn't help much. Nothing an additional insert won't fix. Overall, though, I love the boots and love being a "boot guy." I don't think I'll go back to wearing low, lace-up shoes again.

Frye Harness 8R Gaucho... I had been looking at this boots online & finally decided to buy a pair. I had read all the good stuff about Zappos customer service but found them cheaper at another online site. Sure enough, I called Zappos and got the boots for the same price plus 10% of the difference, no questions asked. Great service from Zappos. The boots are quality - The leather is a little hard & thick which is a good thing with boots because in time they will form to your foot and be like slippers. Typical difficulty getting them on and off but got better as I stretched them by hand a little. As others have noted, go a 1/2 size smaller when ordering this boot. I did & they are perfect. Most importantly, I dig this boots & feel good wearing them. Not the same old stuff you see with everyone else wearing. Thanks Zappos and Fryes!!!

I love them - customer support is great too - This was my very first pair of boots - the reviews were good and I liked the style, so I went for them. These boots are maybe kind of tricky to slip into, but they are really comfortable and definitely nice looking; several friends did appreciate the quality of the leather. I started with a size 12 and had to return it for a 13 - I called the customer support a couple of times to fully understand the procedure and I believe it's one of the best support I ever had; these guys are quick, kind and very effective. I really recommend the couple Frye - Zappos!

Great boot...great service - It was hard to find this boot, in the correct size, a few weeks before Christmas. Zappos had them. I purchased them Thursday night at 9:00 P.M. By Friday lunch time they were at my desk! What is surprise to return from lunch and there they were. BOOTS- The boots are great! Perfect condition out of the box. A little stiff at first but started to break in the first day he wore them. Please note, if you have larger calves you're better off with the 8R and not the 12R height. The 12R are 14.5” opening at the top. The 8R fits below the calf. SERVICE- I was completely satisfied with the service, shipping, packaging of product and the great return policy. If you find it cheaper on another website, take advantage of the 110% adjustment policy. Zappos will refund the variance in price by 110%! (I received $4.40 back.) This was my first purchase with Zappos and I will be back.

Gus from Memphis - Just got these boots last night and am wearing them today. I wear a 9-1/2 E width shoe normally. Boots were very tight to get on with the strap, but after stretching them by hand second fitting was better. I can already feel the boots forming to my foot. For those with an E width foot, these boots will fit after you get beyond the initial wearing. They do look great and have received compliments from wife and work staff.

You know you're wearing them - These boots, right out of the box don't fit like a dream. That's the point, you need to make them your own, and they need love. After a couple of days (and maybe some Dr. Scholls for more support) these babies were the best, and I mean the absolute best I have ever owned. They look great enough for an old flame to look me dead in the eye with all seriousness and say, "I am impressed by those boots" and we weren't even talking about boots...
