The leather is cheap and the color fake. Tag says made in the Dominican Republic. Not the Timberland quality I grew up with. Shame.

What has happened to this shoe? More specifically, what has happened to the outer sole? I have been buying this shoe for decades and like TP, once you find something you like, you don't change....until you have to. First, what happened to the black color sole? They looked great against the brown leather and hid dirt nicely. Please bring back black soles!! Secondly, I don't know if the sole itself has changed but it seems to lack the durability of yesteryear. With this being the more expensive of the boat shoes, I would expect more. Please bring back black, please bring back the old soles.

One she had a deep scratch and a dent in the top, and the other shoe had a dent. Inside the shoe is a label that is very rough, so will always need a thick pair of socks.

I'm a natural 12 since my 20's But I know tim's Run small leaving me no choice but to spin the dice with a thirteen. Again great looking durable shoe but try getting a
WIDE Width almost always out of stock. Tells me Company buyer is not really on his/her game.

Shoes are to narrow, I wear a "Medium" width in every shoe I have purchase, to include my old worn out Timberland two eyelet mom. But with these, I guess I need a "Wide". Perhaps it was just this pair of mediums, but I cannot return them.

This shoe didn't have the support I was use to from the previous Timberland shoes. I need good support from my shoes, trying these shoes makes me wonder if Timberland is making shoes that don't have good support. I will pay good money for good shoes, but these were lacking.

I bought these shoes to replace a pair where the sole split apart from the body of the shoe.

Look great but the most uncomfortable shoe I've purchased from Zappos. No arch support or cushion to the sole. Even with an arch support insert they're still hard on my knees.

I have owned two pairs of these shoes over the past few years. I use them for 10 min per day to walk the dog on a paved surface. Each pair of shoes had the same problem ... sole detached from shoe.

I am a Timberland fan for over 20 years. The shoes look so cool but do not last at all. I purchased the Burgandy color , I wore them 1 time to my son's soccer game. Out of nowhere sprinkles rain started falling on and off. The shoes were little wet and guess what, the color completely changed, the shining disappeared. The shoes never looked the same, they looked old, refurbished. The so called "water proof " When I contacted Timberland for exchange, they didn't believe me even though I emailed them pictures of the shoes. They said NO exchange , all they could do was give me a 10% off my next purchase. So disappointed with Timberland.

If your order the Men's 3-Eye Lug Handsewn Boat Shoes they run about a half size too large. Every other Timberland I have bought have fit perfectly at my normal size, these DO NOT!

Now on my fourth pair. The big plus for me was the wide fit as I have broad feet. I find it incredulous that you have stopped offering wide fit. Congratulations you've lost a fair chunk of the market including me!

I have liked the brand, design and shoes so I bought but I am having tough time. I have spend much money on getting the sole fixed twice and now the sole stitching.

I'm a long time Timberland Classic Lug Shoe advocate, having purchased several pairs over the last couple decades. The simple rugged look and high quality maintained my business.
The product currently offered resembles the previous "Classic" in name only. Rather, the current product emulates in appearance the standard less expense "boat shoe" offered by so many of Timberlands competitors...Featuring lighter colored threading and soles. The quality of the in-sole has been marginalized as well.
Why not continue to manufacture the true "Classic Lug Shoe", and charge a little more for it, in addition to the new product offering?

The pair of shoes that I received had outsoles that were improperly sewn to the upper. The left shoe had an outsole that was sewn too far forward, resulting in the backstay protruding beyond the heel of the outsole and protruding beyond the toe box. This was the second pair that I received with the same quality control issue. Two pairs with the same quality control issue, what are the chances? If you want to purchase these shoes, go to a retailer so that you can inspect them before making a purchase. If you purchase online, my experience that you may be sent a defective or factory second pair of shoes.

I have ordered three pairs of these shoes, and each pair has been defective. The first pair were sewn together such that the lace eyelets were different distances apart. The second two pairs had one shoe, the left shoe, where the sole was attached too far forward, so the heel pocket extended beyond the edge of the outsole. If the heel pocket is supposed to extend beyond the edge of the outsole, then the right shoes are defective, even though they match the catalog photos. Either way, strike three.

I was so excited to have these shoes and really wanted to like them. Arrived on time however the left shoe was defective. First off the insole is merely glued to the base and on the left shoe it wasn't even properly glued. Secondly, there was no cushion below the insole. It was all scrapped off from the insole and black pieces of cushion material came off. Lastly, there were multiple scratch marks on both the shoes which I can live with but definitely not without the cushioning comfort. But again - why scratch marks on the new shoes? I can scratch them on my own.
I read it in multiple reviews that quality has degraded over the years and now experienced it myself.

Used to buy these shoes for a long time going back 20 years. One year ago I purchased a pair and big disappointment. Leather is thin, The whole shoe is flimsy. The tongue of the shoe hurts my foot cause the material is too thin and you can't tie it tight. The shoe lace use to be threaded all through the entire shoe but no more. It is just a decoration - made cheaper. I think the accountants now are designers because they wanted a cost reduction. But truth is they lose customers. Do not recommend this shoe anymore. They used to be good- no more. Sorry to say.
