Great shoes. This is the 3rd pair of this model I've had. The last pair was worn for 6 1/2 years. My suggestions for extending the wear of any shoe is to use liners or inserts so you can replace them vs. chewing up the insides of your shoes. Additionally, using taps on the known wear spots on your soles greatly extends the life of your shoes and is cheaper than getting them resoled. I walk a great deal and it seems my feet have gotten larger. This pair is a half size larger than the last. I also think due to the spreading of my feet I will get a wider size next time. But these are fine but probably would nave broken in more easily if I had a wider shoe.

I have worn this style since the 1970's. This is a classic timberland mocassian style shoe that never goes out of style. Wear them a week and they comform to your foot like handmade shoes should fit. They and several other Timberland styles are Made in the Dominican Republic from the beginning and are a great value shoe a a great price! Use Timberland Boot Waximum on the leather and the seams and these great shoes will be water resistant. Nothing like a shoe with a real leather lining.

Great shoe. I have had a pair of these for 20 years. Slip on and go. Mold to foot and become more comfortable with wear. Use old ones for gardening.

Thumbs up for this timeless beauty. She is very comfortable and I had worn it almost daily with medical insole for two years. It just looks good on any attire. The vibram rubber soles are great and durable except due to natural wear at the heels. I tried to repair the two side but was not lasting (about 1-2mths) probably due to workmanship. Anyway, I recommend to thoroughly used up the sole and find one great cobbler to replace the entire with original sole.

Bought two pairs of these for my husband - different colors. He absolutely loves them. Tells me that they are like having "nothing" on his feet and this from a man who has a wide foot and difficulty getting comfortable shoes.

The Best!!! I bought a pair of these over 26 years ago. Wore them everywhere, to work, on weekends, at night, with casual slacks and with jeans. Style never changes and hope these won't either. Got these shoes before my son was born and then he took them off to college. Never saw them again. Had to buy a second pair after 19 years. Imagine that, I have had them longer than my son. Love them both.

Very good shoe. My g/f got me a pair when I was 19 and now I'm 26 and still wear them nearly everywhere. Keep them clean - wash the soles with a hard sponge, water and wash-up liquid, then polish the uppers - and they'll look as good as new.

Agreement. He's right - when you get a pair you want to wear nothing else.

A classic shoe - I have owned one pair of these Timberlands for the past 20 years. Same shoes. This model has stood the test of time- I have owned several other TL's but this one surpasses all. Had to get my sole repaired after 18 years-but the rest of shoes are great-2006 I plan to order a new pair.

Gloves for my feet! Like the ol' saying goes "fits like a glove," well pilgrims my Timberlands fit like that! This is my forth pair of Timberland 3 eyelet classics. They have been with me on mountains, canyons, trail rides and just plain lounging around. My only wish is to go back to the old sole style; these lug soles do bring home souvenirs from my treks. All in all I love them and will keep buying and wearing them out... They are like an old friend

Great shoe - A bit pricey but well worth it in that they can be resoled, etc. Likely the greatest overall shoe (comfort and versatility) ever made!

Timberland's Classic Lug - This is my second pair of Timberland Classic Lug shoes. They are by far the best wearing shoes I've ever owned. They also look great, and are extremely versatile.

Very comfortable shoe - I have feet that give me a lot of grief (arthritis). As a woman, I need a wide shoe, so I usually choose men's smaller sizes, These are perfect, and they look great.

My favorite shoes - This is the 5-6th pair I have had of these shoes, I love them! Never have I( been so happy with ordering them online as I was this last time w/ Zappos!! I do plan on ordering again! Joel

Shoes that last forever! I bought my boyfriend a pair of these for his 20th birthday and he adores them. He is a keen rugby player and is 15 stones weight, so his shoes get a hard wearing. Loads of the rugby guys wear these shoes or shoes like them, and my b/f thinks they look GREAT! He wears nothing else cos he can just slip these on and stop thinking about them. Great shoe for guys. I'm going to buy them once a year cos, like the reviewer who asked us to say they look great, he shows no mercy to them or anything he walks on, so the heel is already very worn. Like the other guy my b/f seems to spend half his time crushing bugs and other trash, which he ends up leaving on my floor! A great gift.

Why I Like Timberland Traditional Shoes - -This is my second pair, after the first pair wore out after ten years. They can be easily repaired, and cleaned. -Zappos was thorough and effecient, and I would use them again for footwear.

This is the best shoe ever made...you can use these in all situations. The shoes are indestructable and more comfortable than any tennis shoe once they're broken in. I have a bad back and can't bend over to tie my shoe and these shoes are great...you tie them once when you buy them, and for the next 2-3 years just cram your foot into them and the back will never break down or collapse. If you want to save money buy a pair of these shoes and throw away your casual and tennis shoes because these are very comfortable and a real bargain for the price!

Have to disagree with the last reviewer - the look is TERRIFIC and totally suits a casual shoe for lads, which stays clean, wears tough and gets good remarks from my mates. As a young high-school teacher with a son and girlfriend, I don't have much money, so I can't afford more than one new pair of shoes every 18 or so months. Yeah, the sole IS very aggressive, especially when seen from the side - great! That's what I like - it gives them their character, almost like "I may look smooth on the top but don't forget the teeth on the bottom". Yeah, they pick up mud and pebbles - sorry, once they don't fall out where I have to clean them up, I don't care. If gum, cigarette butts and other stuff wedge tight, I don't even bother to take them out. Also, one look at your sole tells you where you've been all day!! Yeah, they squeak, especially on plastic floors or when driving - so what? My favourite shoe of all time, I have a newer pair for formal shirt 'n' tie occasions, which I keep really clean, and an older pair which have gone quite seedy from crushing my cig. butts and all of the mud where I live (in the country) but v. comfortable which I wear all the rest of the time, including at work. Great with jeans - or chinos, shirt 'n' tie - and a leather jacket. C'mon lads, write in to support this GREAT LOOKING shoe! A classic.

My fave shoe. Absolutely my favourite shoe. I'm a 22 yr old junior school teacher - great for work and socialising. I hardly ever bother to wear anything else.

Excellent shoes; stunning service - The local stores no longer seem to carry these, so I ordered them online on a Friday -- and had them by Monday. Doesn't get much better than that. The base price of the shoe is what I would have paid locally, but with free shipping and no sales tax, it was a bit cheaper to buy from Zappo's.

Got to be untied. Most comfy shoe I ever owned worth the dosh. Got 6 years out of mine and still going strong, the soft supple leather does wonders for my feet and the leather lining is a nice soft touch I like. Don't waste money on other shoes lads, you know you want these dudes.

Order same shoes over and over - Great shoes...I have worn them happily for about ten years or more...Nothing else quite fills the bill...
