I first bought a pair of these in 2006. After about 5 years the insoles detached as others have described. I used floor tile adhesive to keep them attached, re-aligning them every so often as needed. Finally I decided to buy a replacement pair in 2016. In less than a year the same thing happened. I notice that the manufacturer has cut corners by not extending the leather insole surface the full length of the shoe from heel to toe, but only half-way; hence the detachment happens more quickly now. I'm done with this particular product. NOTE: A solution would be to always wear socks with these slippers to avoid the bottom of the foot sticking to the insole, but that requires a half-size larger and is frankly a pain.

Slippers are extremely comfortable. The insoles are going to be a problem. They are already coming loose (after 1 week!)from inside the slipper. They did not seem to be secured properly and stick to your feet when you take off the slippers, causing the insoles to bunch up. Where they are attached, they seem to be ripping free.

I won't buy slippers any other way. Zappos delivers quickly. I know this brand well now. The slippers last about six months a pair for me because I wear them exclusively when I'm in the house. I even take them on trips - they're so comfortable. One warning, the fit is right there - not snug, but right there. For example, you can't just step into the shoes. You have to bend over to slice the back of the show over your heel. When your feet perspire, there can be a slight problem with the slipper's lining to fold up into the shoe.

Bought these for my husband, who loves them! Comfortable and quiet, so if he is up before me, he doesn't clomp around and wake me up. They will stretch a bit - in other Evans slippers, he is a 13 but here a 12 was fine.

New and Improved! I had a pair of the Operas several years ago and finally had to replace...be careful, the are ALL leather (including the sole) so you can only wear them on carpet or hardwood flooring as the sole will damage easily...they truly are "slippers". They have been improved over the years with more padding to the inside of the sole and are more stable and comfortable that the pair I had before...

I bought these slippers for myself recently. I was concerned that I bought the right size. The package arrived the next day and when I opened it I knew that the quality of the slippers were superior. The care in packaging, the soft and supple leather made my day. Would they fit though? Right away I put them on. My size 10B was a little snug but the leather melted to my foot in a few hours and I am very happy. I will always have L.B. Evans from now on.

This Evans slipper was just as described and extremely comfortable. The description on the web was very good.

At dinner I was telling my Zappos story and I will repeat it again now to share with others. Well over a year ago I ordered a pair of slippers. Upon arrival I checked them for size and color; all was fine. I did not actually try them on until much much later well over a year. They did not fit. In the mean time the price had gone up. I wrote customer service saying I would pay the difference if I could please exchange them. Without any discussion I received a new pair a few days later and an email saying I did not need to pay the difference!! I was expecting having to beg and plead my case. Zappos was excellent in the way I was treated

I ordered this style shoes for my husband, he also owns a brown pair. He loves to wear them because the leather is so soft and comfortable.

I bought them for my husband; he loves them and finds them very comfortable. They are made from quality leather and I don\'t hesitate recommending them to others. He loved them from the first time he wore them.

I bought these slippers as a present for my husband because it is very difficult to find narrow slippers. He liked the look and feel of the slippers, but found the size 12 a bit short and we now need to order 13 instead. Unfortunately, a 13 narrow is even harder to find and Zappos has none available at this time. The customer service person that I called was very helpful about the return and even put me on an email alert notice so I'll know when the proper size comes in. As long as we can eventually get a size 13 narrow, I will be highly satisfied with Zappos and its return policy.

Love these shoes; they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had on. It is almost like you are barefooted with a cushion under your feet. Worth every penny I spent for them.

Slippers - I bought these for my father who has trouble finding anything in a Narrow. He says they are wonderfully comfortable. I just hope he wears them and doesn't put them away for later because they are so luxurious. The leather is beautiful and the Narrow fit just great.

Slippers - I have narrow feet, thus finding my size is difficult. Your slippers were just what I needed. Very comfortable and well made.

Aristocratic Comfort !!! I LOVE these slippers ! So comfortable and keeps feet nice & warm. Leather insoles keep my feet from stinking, unlike cloth insoles.

Comfy houseshoes - My husband wears houseshoes at home often. It is difficult finding well-made, good-fitting houseshoes any time of year but the Holidays, and even then it is difficult. L.B. Evans is an outstanding brand, and receiving them so quickly from Zappos makes them even more attractive.

Excellent house shoe - I've tried other slippers but keep coming back to these. A great around the house slipper.

Perferct Houseshoe - Have been wearing this model for seven years. We don't wear street shoes in the house so this slipper (house shoe) gets lots of wear. As result, mine need to be replaced about every six months which seems kind of short to me. Also, suggest wearing it with socks. Sweaty feet are hard on the inserts. Nevertheless, this slipper is very comfortable and one I will continue to purchase.

Splendid comfort and looks - These slippers have excellent arches for support, come in a narrow width for narrow feet and are made of very high quality leather and could possibly be the ones that Eliza Doolittle shied at Henry Higgins.

Something to look forward to - Truly comfortable slippers. It is a plesure to put them on before bedtime.

Comfort personified - I have been a user of Evans slippers for many years. I like the style, the fit, the ease of slipping in and out of the slipper, an apt expression. Some things should never change and the Opera slipper is one of them. Proof that it was done correctly in the first place. The look and the wearability place them highest on the list of any competitor who might try to duplicate or imitate them with a cheap facsimilie.

top notch slippers - I purchased these for my father. He absolutely loves them. The fit is perfect, they are soft and comfortable. Excellent quality and good looking too.
